Electric bass player and record producer Jimmy Haslip is the founder of the groundbreaking jazz fusion quartet Yellowjackets.

His playing style is known for its melodic bass lines, expressive solos, and a diverse tonal palette that often creates a striking resemblance to the sound of an upright acoustic bass.

Jimmy continues to work with the Yellowjackets, and he has worked many important artists, such as Bruce Hornsby, Rita Coolidge, Gino Vannelli, Kiss, Tommy Bolin, Allan Holdsworth, Marilyn Scott, Chaka Khan, Al Jarreau, Donald Fagen and Anita Baker.

His two solo albums are called Arc and Red Heat.
