John Campbelljohn Info
Cape Breton-born singer/guitarist & songwriter John Campbelljohn is a multiple award winner. Growing up with plenty of music in his Cape Breton Nova Scotia home, Campbelljohn was enamored with the guitar from an early age.
As a young teenager, he took up the guitar and studied blues roots artists like Son House, Fred McDowell, Robert Johnson & BB King, while at the same time getting swept up by The Beatles and Rolling Stones phenomena. Eventually he put together a combo & toured relentlessly throughout Canada, winning numerous awards for his record releases and guitar playing ability.
John’s most recent North American release is the award winning Celtic Blues combing acoustic slide guitar blues with a nod to the fiddle style that comes with being a Cape Bretoner. He’s come full circle from award winning bluesman to his Cape Breton Celtic roots.
John Campbelljohn has been at it for over twenty years. He’s a seasoned pro who knows what the crowd wants because he’s been there a thousand times, whether he entertains a sophisticated jazz audience, a relaxed folk fest crowd or a bar full of party animals!
