Epitaph recording artists The Coup took time off of their busy recording schedule to visit the Dunlop HQ earlier this week. Leader and front man Boots Riley (The Coup, Street Sweep Social Club with Tom Morello), as well as their producer/engineer Damien Gallegos (Fungo Mungo, K. Brandow) expressed interest in classic analog effects for their new recording. Armed with a box of goodies—including a Cry Baby wah wah, an assortment of Fuzzes, and a Talk Box—the two hammed it up for our cameras.

Dave Kilminster is the guitar player for the Roger Waters Band, which is currently on the road with The Wall tour. If you like The Wall or are at all interested in Pink Floyd tones, then you’ll definitely want to check this out. Dave gives us the rundown on amps and pedals, and even plays a couple of licks—then we got to sit and enjoy one hell of a rock show! Do yourself a favor and search Youtube for clips of the tour. The show was top-notch from start to finish. It WILL blow you away. Dave kills every sweep, bend, and every note he plays. Thanks Dave—it was a real treat!

Last night at the Filmore in San Francisco, Jimmy Dunlop personally delivered the very first Cry Baby Crystal to longtime Dunlop Artist and Billy Idol guitarist Steve Stevens. When he got it he had his tech Roy Kelly put it on his pedal board immediately.

After delivering a run of acclaimed shows earlier this year, the “Big Four” will be back together in 2011. Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax, the so-called “Big Four” of thrash metal, will headline the first night of next summer’s U.K. Sonisphere Festival on July 8.
