Last night at the Filmore in San Francisco, Jimmy Dunlop personally delivered the very first Cry Baby Crystal to longtime Dunlop Artist and Billy Idol guitarist Steve Stevens. When he got it he had his tech Roy Kelly put it on his pedal board immediately.

The Cry Baby is one of the mainstays of Steve’s live and studio rigs: in the studio he has a collection of every wah wah we make so that he can call upon any wah wah tone he needs. On tour, he uses the DCR-2SR Rack Wah.

Stay tuned for our limited run of Cry Baby Crystals in the near future!

Steve uses our Heavy Core strings, specifically the Heavy (.10-.48) gauges, a combination he’s had to put together himself for years until the release of the Heavy Core sets. He prefers the high tension created by the strings’ heavier core-to-wrap ratio, giving him great tension at any tuning.
