The third week of the October Carbon Copy Contest has now ended, one more week to go! I present to you the following 3 randomly picked winner’s for the 3rd week (Oct. 9-16th).

Carbon Copy Winner
Nicolas
I would like to see some kind of Matthew Bellamy overdrive/fuzz pedal. He gets some wicked tones live and in the studio. Sometimes it even seems like there might be some octave or synth effect blended in. Maybe an expression pedal out to have a dry/effect mix.

Runner Ups
Frank
Warren Haynes Signature Tremolo Pedal. That’d be sick.

Jay
The Edge – delay pedal. Take the Carbon Copy and make it a twin delay!

The last week is now starting, all those who entered the before and didn’t win can re-enter for this week’s contest in which the winners will be selected on Oct. 23rd, 2009. The same rules apply, but this time please comment on

I would like a quality harmonizer, please. Thank you.

  • Travis

I would love to see a Tom Morello Wah made. I’ve seen a ton of signature wahs come out lately all of which are sick, but this would definitely blow my mind.

  • http://itsjustcamsblog.wordpress.com Cam

My favorite pick? That’s a hard question. I love the Gator Pick, because I drop picks, and that one is insanely hard to drop. But I absolutely love the sound of the Tortex. So it’s a tie. If there’s some sorta combination of the two, incredible tone+impossible to drop, that’d be killer.

  • Nicholas Booth

dunlop and mxr two of the best brands out there for effects pedals and instrument accessories they make everything sound and feel so much more comfortable than other brands

  • Joe

I love Jazz III picks. I’m still trying to decide whether I prefer the Ultex or the Stiffos: Ultex has a little more definition, Stiffos are warmer. But I love that they’re rigid and fast to play with. Before I started using Jazz IIIs it was .88mm Tortex all the way, but now normal-size picks feel huge and ungainly to me.

Now, however, I’m definitely a Jazz III player.

  • Ismael

i would like to see a pedal effect like a wah pedal but with instead of that wah effect it would be a distortion level.

  • Cox

    MXR…..Hmmm..!!!I Love it….Nice pedal,with Good Tone,i very enjoy use that….
    Carbon Copy….The Most Greatest Anlog Delay…Very Warm…warm…warm…warm…

  • Chris Barry

I would love to see an Mxr pedal that recreates some of the Fuzzy industrial type sounds
    used by NIN,etc.

  • http://deleted Mario

I tried this at GC the other. Literally rapes my DD-3

  • http://www.myspace.com/leechavezmusic Lee Chavez

It’s a tie between the Jazz III, and the new James Hetfield Ultex pick. Both kick A***

  • Jim Pezzone

would like an EQ/Gain Boost to clean up the sound on some of the amp distortions, but still have the volume to cut through….

  • http://lonephantom.wordpress.com Stephen

My favourite pick would be the Ultex Jazz III. Great feel and tone, and the classic Jazz III shape. I wish the Australian distributor would hurry up and
sell them here. The blacks are great at least though.

  • Steve Mateo

Jazz III’s, the sharp point for fast picking and the perfect size to handle and grip.

  • fishlog

I think the Carbon copy has a pretty cool name but if you take it and turn it into a twin delay pedal like somebody had suggest it shoudl be called the CO2 (periodic chart ooking font) copy (CO2 Copy).

  • http://www.muzicosphere.com/?lang=en Sarssipius

Dunlop Stubby 1.0 mm are my favorite picks ever cause:
    - I got a good grip on it
    - Once I had one in my hand, I’ve never able to play any other pick anymore!

  • Stevan Jasiunas

I’d love to see a John Petrucci overdrive pedal or a Jack White Fuzz pedal. Either one would really kick ass.

  • Chris Bagiamis

I owned a Carbon copy at one time, It’s a great pedal, now I am kicking my ass for selling it.

  • John Tekiela

It would go nicely with my Blue Box

  • Danny

My favorite picks are Dunlop Pitch Black Jazz Picks. I love the grip with the accuracy of the Jazz III’s and the nice vintage, homey feel of tortex. I just wish more places stocked them!

  • Jojo

I’d want to see a Dunlop multi-effects pedal. That would kick some serious ass. @-)

  • Harald Jacobsen

My favorite is the Jazz III, because it’s small, long-last, hard, easy to play with and you can shred with it like a monster.
    Love dunlop to bits!

  • Alan

My favorite pick? pretty hard question, it differs if I want a good tune and fast attack I choose the ultex sharp, but if I want a pretty good grip I going to the gator grip.

I choose the Ultex for the grip, the feel of the surface, the tip of the pick, the color and maybe for everything, its the perfection made in a guitar pcik shape.

  • regis

TORTEX .73 is the best. I have always loved the feeling of a fresh one on my fingers. The have a great subtle curve to them.

  • Alicia

The ones that glow in the dark!

  • Jason

    Tortex Rock!!!

  • Jay

Nylon Glow picks – hit ‘em hard or soft, and they glow!

  • Ken

    Ultex, it feels great.

  • Todd

Jazz III’s… I just like em! Easy to play with… good stuff.

  • Kevin Cole

.88 mm nylon ( gray ) great for aggressive attack and pick scrapes-and years ago my hero Michael Schenker gave me some of these!

  • Lucas LeCompte

Ultex Jazz III’s. Feel, play and sound great.

  • David Sensenstein

I have two favorites. The first is the .73 Nylon. I like them because they wear well and when I curve them over my thumb they have a good memory. I like to curve them so they hug my thumb, therefore making them easy to hold onto. My other favorite is the black Jazz III. I like them for their accuracy and articulation. I like the black over the red because the black has a bit of a texture to it that I think feels nice, and gives the picks a bit better grip.

  • Rob Young

You notice the difference big time with an analogue delay and this one kicks ass.
and that’s why I want one – der no shit

  • Donald Hajek

I love the blue Tortex picks.

  • Francesco

I love 2 mm Gator Grip, it’s great for riffs and solos and it’s very hard to drop….and it stays just tied to my fingers even with profuse sweating!

  • http://HUNT4MUSIC.com Robbie Hunt

Need a break from the sameness of my 4 Boss delays, Thanx in advance.

  • Arnel

How about a 3 channel distortion box . Chanell 1 Overdrive , Ch2 Distortion , Ch3 Fuzz and a boost in it. One volume control for all 3 channels, and tone and gain for each channel . MXR Zack Wylde Overdrive + Distortion III + Fuzz Face!

  • Luigi Carlessi

Why Dunlop pedal?? Because they represent the perfect connection between sound quality and sturdiness of the box. I love CryBaby wah and the MRX stereo chorus, naturally besides each other dunlop pedals that I don’t have by I could test,
Thank you to give me this possibility!!

  • Metalhead88

Tortex picks that have that dry, powdery shit on ‘em.

  • Michael

Hmm.. I guess I’d like to see an MXR synth pedal being produced!! To get some entirely groundbraking space (and not only) sounds..

  • http://www.viiarcano.com Marco

My all time favourite is the Dunlop Tortex 1mm pick: it never dies out, has great attack for both soloing and riffing, and has a great grip, even with sweaty hands. Second come the 1mm nylon, even if i prefer it with bass guitar.

  • Khalid Ameer

Well in my case i mostly prefer & use 1.5 mm pick because its not too thick or think its always easy for fast picking & don’t feel any problem for playing techniques

  • jhenson

“What is your favorite Dunlop pick and why?”
I like the stubby 2.0 because of it’s bright attack and how well it fits and feels. We play quite a bit of jazz but mix it up with some metal and round it off southern blues and this pick seems to work it all.

  • http://www.effectsdatabase.com DiscoFreq

    Tortex 1.5 (on bass)

  • Ernest Stapleton

I use the .46mm USA nylon for acoustic rhythm playing. Thin and controlled.

  • Kai Liebrand

I use and love the Nylon Standard 1.0 black pick. Love it, ’cause of it’s flexibility but sturdiness at the same time!

  • Bob Welch

Jazz picks for guitar. Tortex for mandolin.

  • David Angel

I love the Jazz III picks. I’m still debating which of the major three to use (ultex, nylon or sharps), but it’s definitely the way to go for me. Larger picks just feel too unwieldy now, too awkward to handle. The Jazz III fits me perfectly and allows me to nail the killer riffs I’ve been always wanting to play.

  • Ben Holder

I have to say that my favorite Dunlop product is the strings. Many of my guitar idols ()Slipknot, Trivium) use them and I agree with what they say :Live up to the abuse and they always hold on. I also don’t have a pedal and I really need one.

  • Travis Mitchell

Tortex picks are the best because they dont break and they very slowy wear down. I have one that I have been using for four years now and it just keeps on going. Tortex are the best because they last forever. In the end it will not be the cockroaches that survive it will be Tortex picks.

  • http://www.myspace.com/crushedpurple Mark W. Hines II

    Gotta be the Gator.

  • Adam Nathani

Nylon .60 is my pick of choice. Nylon .73s were my first picks ever, so I’ve always stuck with the feel, but went to a thinner pick, especially for pinches.

  • http://www.axestaticprocess.com Sarah FitzGerald

As I sit at my desk I’m staring at Ultex .60, Ultex .73, Nylon .73, and Nylon .88… I like using diff picks for diff things, but if I was stranded on a desert island with only one type of pick (and this is assuming I have at least 1/2 gross of them!) — I’d go with the Nylon .73, there is nothing it couldn’t do!

  • Jamie A. Kyllo

If you could develop a versatile bass pedal it would go over very well among us lowenders.

  • steve mundy

i use eric johnson jazz 3 ,they really help the notes bloom.

  • steve mundy

would like to see a pedal replicate arel 57 tweed deluxe

  • Allen Scarborough

How about a Joe Bonamassa / David Gilmour / Edge delay pedal that dials in all those different subtle-to-up front delays? Call it Carbon Copy BGE.

  • Petr Vavrik

Dunlop Jazz III Stifo, because it´s comfortable and FAST!!!

  • Scott

I use the Black Gold Tortex 1.14mm. As a metal bassist I need a durable, heavy pick to stand the abuse. And who can go wrong with black!

  • Josh Hischar

.73 mm dunlop tortex picks are always my go too pick. strong, reliable, and perfect grip. can’t go wrong! the perfect pick of all time!

  • Kristoffer Krogerus

1.5mm delrin 500 standard. I like thicker picks.

  • Jake Betts

    .73mm Tortex: simple, durable, versatile.

  • http://www.liso.it Liso

    tortex std 1.0mm!

  • David

Ultex 1.0mm. Perfect thickness and rigidity; extremely long-lasting.

  • michael mclaughlin

I love the purple tortex picks,i a try others, but always come back to the tortex.

  • Mike D

JAZZ III XL Red…the king of the picks with all the tone and speed of the JAZZ III but in an adult size!

  • http://FindThe01.com Carter C.

    Tortex, Gator. You name it.

  • Chris Slep

I’d like a Gary Richrath wah pedal. Not for that 80′s wuss stuff. I’m talking about REO’s sound from the 70′s.

  • Chris Slep

Of course that was for last week. I use .73 nylon standard. It just fits and sounds right.

  • Jevon David Seaman

man a wah chorus would be cool!

  • Craig

My fave is the .73mm yellow tortex standard. It has a great grip ( even less slippery than the gator grips) and doesn’t wear too quickly. I also sometimes use the lighter orange .60mm for acoustic playing.

  • Mike

Dunlop Tortex….the green ones! I’ve used them forever and everyone I’ve played with knows they’re “my” picks. They’ll see a green pick on teh floor and say “oh, that’s Murfs….” like I’m the ONLY person that plays them…..

    Too funny…..knuckleheads!

  • Ethan

My favorite pick would have to be the 1.14mm tortex sharp pick. The pick’s sharp tip helps me achieve great phrasing, and it gives me more control on how I pick the strings. I can go for a jazzy light attack, or a Viking metal killing attack. Also, purple is the color meant for viking metal. I’ve also tried many other picks, but I keep coming back to this one.

  • Frank A Jacobs

would love to see some kind of (midi) programable 10 band graphic eq , I’ve used the 108 for years, only wished there was a solution to having two or more in a programable loop so I can switch through different tones

  • Joe Fifra

i would like to see Cry Baby GCB-100, it sound’s cool..

  • Cody

My favorite pick is the Ultex Standard 1.00mm. It is a traditionally sized pick, but I love the texture of it and the very slight flex it gives, which yields some diverse sounds depending on pick angle and attack.

  • Daniel

Ultex .73 for chords. Jazz III’s for lead playing.

  • Bernard Rey

My favorite pick is the Gator Grip 1.5mm. Strong, long lasting, doesn’t slip out, it really matches my style.

  • suundis

A violin stimulator pedal would be awesome for some cool shreddin´

  • graham eckford

Ultex Jazz 3s for me. Sound pretty good and play well.

  • Tucker

The Gator: Great grip, nice and fat gauges available, and they have great string release for speed picking.

  • Jim

Tortex 0.73mm (Green). Best combination of flexibility and attack. I use my thumb, middle and index finger to bend the pick slightly when I need more firm attack, so I get the feel of a thicker or thinner pick depending on finger pressure!

  • Edward

I really dig the Dunlop Tortex .73mm pick.It holds it’s shape very well and gives me just the right attack for my picking style.

  • francisco de loera

the ultex sharp, thats the best choice!!!!

  • Zaid

dunlop gator grip is my choice. I always have issues with picks slipping but the gator grip i never have that problem.

  • Jables

Ultex Jazz III all the way!

  • Sabin Popescu

A realy Piece of Art…Rock On MXR

  • Tony D

    Tortex Jazz medium

  • Davis T

A new fuzz pedal similar to the zvex fuzz factory where you can get crazy oscillations.

  • Bryan Hagwood

The 60mm Nylon has just the right amount of flex and it lasts longer than any other brand that I’ve used. Thanks JD

  • Silentgirl88

    dunlop tortex 0.6 cause it’s orange :D

  • Alessandro

tortex 1mm! the strongest and durable ever

  • Mark Amano

My favorite pick is the Dunlop Stubby 1.0mm. I like it for it’s smooth feel and it’s quick attack on the strings. It’s perfect for speed picking!

  • Chris

dunlop tortex standard .73…. why because it is amazing! Perfect pick!

  • http://www.myspace.com/cementseason Ian Powell

Orange Tortex. It’s still the best after all these years.

  • Ben Holder

i dont have a pedal so im entering this contest so i can get my first pedal. my favorite dunlop item would be the dunlop strings.they’re amazing.

  • http://? Jose Alvarez

I have a Buddy Guy Wah, MXR 108 Fuzz, and an MXR SmartGate. Buddy Guy wah is my favorite…but if you give me that Carbon Copy I may have a new favorite =)

  • Patrick Belanger

I love my Dunlop Ultex Sharp .73mm picks, the feel, responsiveness and speed i get with these picks is astonishing.

  • http://www.myspace.com/milliondollardogband Joe Woodard

Green Tortex all the way! I always try to go up or down in gauge, but I always end up back at the greens!

  • John

A good harmonizer pedal would be cool to have from dunlop

  • Jacob LaFountaine

Primetone cause they are easy to grip

  • Robert Craig

I am a fan of the Jazz III and the Tortex 1.0mm. They are uniquely different, durable and have a great grip.

  • Rick Loya

The tortex standard 1.0mm are the way to go!!! They feel just right!!!

  • Daniel P

I use Ultex .73′s, because they aren’t too thin and aren’t too heavy (but that’s just me). They have a nice feel, and are pretty durable, too.

  • Michael Wickett

The Ultex Standards. They have great snap for strumming, yet they have great control for single note playing. Absolutely great connection of player to strings. Runner-up: Eric Johnson Jazz III.

  • Michael Wickett

The Ultex Standards. They have excellent snap for strumming, yet they have great control for single note playing. Absolutely wonderful connection of player to strings. Runner-up: Eric Johnson Jazz III.

  • Lou DeMarco

I’ve used the Tortex .73 mm for many years, but just ordered some of the Ultex, based on reviews I’ve read.

  • Stephen Heil

I like the Ultex Standard 0.75. I wish I could buy a gross of them inexpensively.

  • http://guitarsound.superfreehost.org/ Geoff Vane

I like the .88 nylon. Heavy enough to grab hold of but still a tiny bit flexible to do some speedy plucking. And the mid grey color is so neutral that you can’t see my entire house has picks strewn around in every room.

  • http://blog.andrewbeacock.com Andrew Beacock

Can I have one please? I never win anything! :(

  • Ralph Mouland

I use .88mm. It just feels ‘right’, and have used these for many years. If I changed to anything else, I fear that the whole time-space continuum would collapse around me.

  • Athila Mendes Rodrigues Aquino

Thats what i call “super”. I reaaly would like to have one of these, imagine how great would be to play with a great sound. I am working hard to buy a new guitar, cuz i only had old guitars, and a good guitar player, deserves a good equipment. That would be AWESOME to have a carbon copy in my hands.

  • patrick thacker

mxr and guitar world, how could one go wrong?

  • Ryan Bond

Ultex Tri – 1.0mm – Great feel with nice, crisp attack. I have always liked the tri instead of the standard. Just feels more comfortable to me.

  • http://www.myspace.com/bodiemax Reid Lowery

I use the Tortex for blues and rock, and the EJ jazz for most of the rest. I find the attack with each to be a bit different and it makes all the difference in my sound

  • Anthony Ferrazzano

I have been using the Jazz III for the last 5 years, before that the Jazz II. They just feel perfect for alternate, and are just the right thickness.

  • Paul Lubonski

A overdrive and distortion combo in one effect.

  • Brian M.

I have been using the Nylon 0.88 picks for over ten years. They are the perfect picks for strumming and for playing lead notes. Over all the years I have been playing I have never dropped one – the grip on them is perfect and they are virtually indestructible.

  • http://musicradar.com Jerry Anderson

I had a chance to check out one of these that a friendof mine had sounded great.

  • Eric Kelly

Love all the MXR pedals!! I use only dunlop guitar picks!!! Rock on!!!

  • http://www.dpguitarpedals.com Duane P

I’m using a PFEIFFER Second Take delay pedal now. Would love to add a true analog delay.

  • Alejandro Mercado

My favorite picks are the XL JazzIII and Tortex .88 the green ones. I jump between these two a lot. Just because both are just such great picks. The XLJazzIII are just monster! Those things take a beating and take a long long time to ware out. They have perfect grip on them and the sharp tip makes it super easy for playing single notes. The Green Tortex .88 are just great they are perfect in size they have a great feel to them. Its the pick that everyone and there momma uses..

  • Nick Dobransky

I love Tortex picks ! Not only do they last a long time but, since I play both guitar and bass, they are the most versatile picks on the market.

  • Bill Sturman

I have trouble picking my favorite Dunlop products, but I’d have to say that the MXR Carbon Copy and 74 Phase 90 are my faves. The 74 Phase 90 does a fantastic job of recreating that lush and beautiful swirl found on my fave Van Halen and Rolling Stones (Some Girls era) records. The Carbon Copy provides the most warm and flexible analog delay sounds at an affordable price to boot. Along with True Bypass and a small footprint, everyone should own one.

  • Frank Kwiatkowski

Tortex .73mm. Just right thickness and great feel.

  • Stephen Barta

The best Dunlop pick it the 1.14mm tortex. It’s thin but quite strong light and has just enough grip to stick to your fingers well, plus they last for quite a while!

  • Anthony Hoffman

I’ll play a Jazz III pick until they pry it out of my cold, dead hand.

  • Jamie

I like the .73mm Ultex. I love it because it’s thinner and you don’t get as much of a “pick” sound when strumming chords and it sounds more natural.

  • Daryl Carter

I use dunlop gator grip 1.14 for single note dynamics and definition and standard jim dunlop medium for funky rhytm playing

  • Ed DeBord

    Dunlop mediums, just right!

  • Alayna Whitten

I like to use the Jazz III on electrics and the Big Stubby on Acoustics because those two give me all the control and chiming tone I need.

  • Rob Uchniat

Gator Grip Tortex – I use the 2.0mm when I need a bass pick. They’re durable, yet a little soft to give a good attack on the bass, without a lot of click.

  • josh

hey i would like t o try the dunlop carbon analog

  • Joe Lorigo

    I use thick ones!

  • Ben Snedden

    MXR pedals kick ass!!! :D

  • http://www.daddy-o.us Robert E. Chandler

The best delay I have ever used in over 40 years of performing has been the MXR Carbon Copy, hands down…hands down…hands down…hands down…hands down…hands down…

  • Andy B

I always use Green Tortex’s–they rock!

  • jim scott

Yellow Tortex..They are awesome. I used one to shim the floyd nut on one of my guitars. I can fling them with deadly accuracy and chop the wings off of a fly flying across the room. I have fixed rattles in my trucks dashboard with them. Oh, I also use them to play the guitar……Thanks Dunlop

  • Kevin Potts

I love Gator Grip 96m picks. The right thickness for both rhythm and lead guitar.

  • willard cutknife

HELL YEAH I,M POSTING A COMMENT

  • Fred

I have used your Jazz III forever!! Love ‘em!

  • Jason

    Tortex 1mm – hands down!

  • R. Brandon

Tortex mediums gives me the old school feel of tortise shell

  • Derek Messer

I would really like ti see a loop pedal.. I really love looping and jamming with myself. I know dunlop would do an awesome job!!

  • Tom Hannon

The Eric Johnson Jazz III picks have to be greatest pick I have ever used. I have always used the Fender Heavy picks for as long as I can remember. Once I tried the EC Jazz III, I was amazed at the pick attack and how easy it was to adjust to them.

  • reggie bussey

I have been playing guitar for 14 years (which means nothing), but for the 14 years I have only used dunlop picks. I have tried others but nothing compares to the tortex pick 1.00 mm.

    later

    last chance!

  • Brian P

I’d like to see a talk box designed in a crybaby case. That way I could control the inflections with my foot like a regular crybaby. Plus there could be an option for a second sound, something like a rotating speaker, like a leslie. Then I could control the speed with the crybaby pedal.

  • Nathan H.

I like the purple Tortex with the star cutout in them. Just the right heaviness, and it’s easier to grip them.

  • james snyder

My favorite picks for the 12-string are the nylon ’48s. I like the molded grippy and the flexibility allows me to make consistent contact with the each string in a course

  • Davis Yarbrough

My favorite are the orange tortex picks. I’ve been able to keep up with them for so long that the size has worn off.

  • Jim Ball

I would like to see a tremolo-wah pedal. I tried it with my GCB95 crybaby wah and M159 stereo tremolo. It sounds sooo cool

  • Aaron Troyer

Definitely the Ultex 1.0. I can’t use anything else. I’ve always been a fan of 1.0 picks, but for some reason the Ultex version just feels the best. I also like the fact that there is a rhino on the pick :)

  • http://www.protosonic.com Chris Pederson

I’ve been using Dunlop standard yellow picks for years. They’ve got the right give, the right feel and the right sound for my bass playing (when I use a pick at all). I’ve tried others but have always returned.

  • Jimbo ball

I like the tortex standard picks. They jus flow in my hand. I like a thick 2mm for my style of playing. Also i like tortoises. They are the best

  • NikoAsh

Ultex Sharp 1.0 without a doubt. The feeling is incredible. It’s the perfect pick.

  • Anthony

Ultex 1.14 are the best. Great feel in my fingers and slides off the strings like they are made of silk.

  • Flash447

Dunlop Ultex Sharp .73 my favourite!!..great, fast, comfortable alternate picking:))

  • Alex Gorra

I like the Ultex sharp 1.0 or .73 they are my all time favoride picks to use!!!

  • Hutch

The Super Comp gave me so much sweetness and smoothness to my flatpicking that I bought another to use when my pedalboard was with the band stuff. If you want to use your volume to make bowed sounds, compression can’t be beat, and this is a great one.

  • RJ Silvas

Distortion +. I can use it to add grit to my cleans, or use it during solos to smooth out my highs. The versatility is amazing, but it still stands on its own when you use it by itself. Randy Rhoads used it, what more do you need?

  • Yogi

    I wanna see dunlop amp…….
too good, great pedal without amp….. rocks……..

  • James ball

I would like to see a phase-fuzz-octave pedal. I had the iidea when i turned my phase 90 on when i had my blue box by accident. It sounded like being in space on drugs.

  • http://www.myspace.com/malenkyslovos Andrea

favourite PICK: i’ve always used Dunlop Picks, first the tortex Medium.. now I’m sold on those grey softer picks (don’t know the name!)

future pedal fx: this week may be over, but who knows.. maybe some Dunlop R&D guy will read this.. I’d love a random arpeggiator (like oberheim filter) with tap tempo! I’d LOOVE that ;-)

  • Julian

The Jazz III, for sure; I like a lot of the Dunlop picks (everything from the Tortex picks to the finger picks) but the Jazz III is the perfect combination of small, hard, and sharp for really fast single note playing. A Jazz I or II will do in a pinch (the II is better than the I), but there’s something about the III’s shape that makes it feel a little more precise.

  • Ronald Natzel

Dunlop picks have been around since I started playing, that’s a long time. For just regular old playing, and trying to be clean and pretty, I use a .73 that I have sanded to roughly .5 then finished with 2000 grit paper. But if we want to get crazier than anybody my age should be, I’ll grab a
Jazz III and let it sing. I am a little hesitant to get the carbon copy pedal, I don’t think the world
    could survive two of me.

  • michael

the orange one Tortex .60mm. they simple the best, they become one with my finger.

  • pjones

I’ve always used Dunlop products from straps to pick to my Crybaby; its always been Dunlop

  • http://www.myspace.com/capturetheflagster RoyZ

Tortex 1.14mm for the heavy stuff; Jazz III for the speed …. effects I would like to see: wah w/delay/modulation when you engage the wah and disengage wah disengages the delay/mod effects too so I can get back to my rhythm tone in less than 3 stomps!!!!

  • william walls

different picks for different jobs. that’s why you have so many.

  • Randy

I think a Stevie Ray Vaughan pedal with distortion and wah would be fantastic.

  • NHBluesMan

i feel like a Way Huge wah pedal would be killer. the other stuff you guys have released from them has been great (love the pork loin), and i feel like with your great track record of crybabys, a Way Huge wah would not only sound great, but be a big hit among players!

  • OSAR

The best Dunlop pick is the Tortex 1.0mm because it “picks” me up when I’m playing the blues!

  • http://myspace.com/livebrandonwilliams Brandon Williams

I would like to see a duel channel distortion pedal… On one side have a lighter distortion for rythems almost like a “pushed clean” like the tube screamer, or BBE’s green screamer. and on the other side have a “high gain” face melting distortion for leads or just heavy rythems.
    That Would Be Awesome!!!

    haha Thanks,
    Brandon WIlliams

  • Brent Bishop

I love my Dunlop Ultex .73′s and Jazz III’s!

  • Nick

i use the tortex .70 they are sweet!!

  • jon

im the biggest fan of the dunlop pics made of the same material as the unbreakable comb i use the light gray for starters but now im on the dark grey and i will try the tortex soon bye guys keep rockin without breakin

  • joshua

i would like to try out this good pedal ive heard about

  • Jamie

Ultex .73mm. Not too think, not too thin.

  • http://www.shooterband.com Steve Kelly

I’d like to see a harmonizer pedal.

  • randy eichman

I use Dunlop 421P Ultex .73 and 1.0. I’ve found that the speed and recovery of these picks noticeably helps my playing.

  • Eric

1mm nylon pick are probably the ones I use most often. They give a nice fat and round sound to a single coil guitar with 10 gauge or higher string sets.

  • Ben McCraw

All Dunlop picks are great and extremely durable but my favortie by far is a Jim Dunlop
U.S.A. Heavy -it looks cool because of the see through plastic, and it provides rigidity
    without sacrificing manuverability.

  • Derek Messer

I like using the Dunlop Big Stubby 2mm picks. They work great for when you are playing on stage and sweating. The concave part of the pick has excellent grip! Best pick for “shredding” by far!!

  • leah

Dunlop Gator Grip!… Why?… Because of the great grip of course!

  • Joe

Tortex .60mm. The pick responds really well. Gives that Cello-y Paul Gilbert sound.

  • http://www.myspace.com/reed Rodger

I like the Ultex 1.0 because of the feel in my fingers, the control, and the way it feels when I address the strings. It feels like an extension of me.

  • patrick thacker

i would love to see a dunlop/mxr version of a “supa-fuzz”. with or without an octaver.

  • John DeCaro

nylon jazz III. They are great for control and speed.

  • J.P.

The red Jazz III sharp. Easy to grip and very, very easy to get a variety of tones by hitting the strings with different angles. (Runner up to traditional shape Ultex — the only pick of that shape that I like anymore, great for strumming work.)

  • gtrbmart

The green Jazz III’s. When I first started using them, each and every second of playing guitar was mindblowing. It felt like I was playing a whole new instrument and it felt good. I will never go back.

  • JimCole

I’ve got an old Crybaby that sounds great, would love to see Dunlop make a true bypass model.

  • http://www.toomuchsaturn.com mark hoffmann

Nylon Standard 442 black 1.0mm – I’ve been using these forever and no matter what else I try, I always come back.

Comfortable, easy to hold onto and they last a long time. Let’s me play softly or dig in and play hard depending on what the song and mood dictates. Sometimes I flip the pick around, hold it by the pointed end and use the textured surface against the strings to create a scraping sound. A cool little sonic trick that works great with compression and delay to channel my inner Edge.

  • Migaud David

Absolutely Dunlop Tortex 88mm GREEN, one of the best guitar pick of all the time! When I was kid, I tried different pick and never finded the good one. So one day I’ve checked all the videos and pictures of great guitar player, and I finded the way. All of this guys played with a green pick: James Hetfield, Kirk Hammet, Dave Mustaine, Kerry King and others.
So I’ve tried it, and definitely I can’t use for now an other guitar pick!
Viva Dunlop for this green graal!

  • Nick Marshall

I had the MXR Dime Distortion pedal for some time…unfortunately i had to sell it due to lack of money. It was my favorite distortion pedal because it really did copy the signature Dime sound! it’s an awesome pedal and i am probably going to get another one very soon!

  • Kurt Arrildt

Gator Grips are my favorite pick due to their outstanding grip.

  • John Lindberg

Nylon Standard .88. Only pick I use for guitar, both electric and acoustic. Stays in my hand and lasts a long time no matter how much I play.

  • zee

.73 mm USA Nylon. They last forever.

  • Shelby MacAulay

my favorite Dunlop picks are the tortex 1.14, i started using them because of slash then got hooked… they dont flex or bend they just keep’er goin hahah their great picks

  • Craig Enser

i like the tortex .60. thin picks give a fuller tone to chords

  • John Valdez

Dunlop Tortex .60mm. It’s the perfect size and it plays so smooth with a strat.

  • Steve

For rhythm work I love my Ultex 1.0 picks they feel solid in my hands and they last forever. If I’m playing more lead or really want to attack the strings I will use my red Jazz III picks, they allow me to really be aggressive and have never let me down. These are the ONLY pick I use.

  • Nick forster

make an easy to use loop pedal with more than the usual 30 second record time… haha

  • http://www.myspace.com/sicocis Ernest J. Rodrigues

My favorite Dunlop pick is the Pitch Black Jazz III Pick, because its great for speed, fast solo’s and rhythms, and its just the right size!

  • Casey Scott

For my money, nothing beats the .71 mm Dunlop Gator Grip. Great wear, good feel and action. Perfect hybrid pick for lead or rhythm.

  • betsy

Ultex picks. Good and stiff, nice bright sound.

  • ryan

USA Nylon (in various gauges). They are the best sounding longest lasting picks I’ve ever used.

  • http://www.myspace.com/bocephusbrown Bocephus Brown

An all-in-one pedal that combines the best-selling dunlop pedals into one unit…I’d buy one.

  • Brian

I agree with bocephus brown. When is dunlop going to make a multi-effects processor? I LOVE DUNLOP!!!

  • Chris Bagiamis

One of my favorate dunlop products are the Gator Grip Picks, I have been using these for the past 3 years. nothing else compares. they stick right to your fingers even when your sweating.

  • Jesse Bates

That would have to be the Dunlop Tortex 1.14mm, best picks I’ve ever used. Good feel, long lasting, huge sound.

  • Aaron

Very nice to have an analog back at a reasonable price. I know they’ve been around with other companies for a while but… I’ve always had a soft spot for MXR and hearing loss to prove it!

  • http://x Nick Canard

I like the turtle on the pick cuz it always makes me smile

  • Seth Okrend

    I want this!

  • Elcid Elumba

I’d like to see dunlop make all in one pedal od/distortion based on dunlops current Od and distortion line-up, it should be purely analog with true bypass…

  • Elcid Elumba

I’ve always been using dunlop straps and tortex picks

  • Jesse

    dunlop picks are amazin

  • daveffreep

    Great picks, great effects!

    Gimme that analog delay!

  • Doug

Sweet effects pedal! good luck everyone!

  • James ball

I would like to see a tom morello helicopter pedal.

  • http://www.memphisproguitarsetups.com Adam Lucchesi

My main vote would be for a compact loop sampler similar to the Boss RC-2, but without all the useless features. Sort of like a marriage between the ease of use of the DL4 loop sampler, but in a small [MXR Tremolo sized box] simple to use unit. And I know you guys could get it to SOUND better than both of those units. The RC-2 playbacks sound muffled and crappy, and the DL4 playbacks are thin and weak. If anybody can beat that, it’s you guys!

My second vote would be for a high quality Reverb/Delay pedal. Again with a small sized box and simple layout.

Annnnd when are you guys going to put out a simple, affordable pedal tuner? I’d love to see you guys make one with a very bright and reasonably large LED display with simple features and very few bells and whistles.

Keep up the awesome work, guys!

  • Paul

The new handwired DynaComp reissue is amazing. It is very, very similar to my vintage “Bud box” DynaComp pedal in sound and feel but is quieter and has more high end. Love it!

  • http://GuitarWorld Bruce A. Deuchars

5350 Dunlap Crybaby offers multi-mode options that work for me, and I was glad to find their textured picks, I can finally hang on. I can’t believe it was’nt a feature of the first pick made.

  • http://GuitarWorld Bruce A. Deuchars

5350 Dunlap Crybaby offers multi-mode options that work for me, and I was glad to find their textured picks, I can finally hang on. It should have been a feature on the first pick made.

  • http://GuitarWorld Bruce A. Deuchars

The texture on the Dunlop picks are great. the only thing that would be better for me would be my fingerprints stamped into them.

  • http://myspace.com/tzwomack Taylor Womack

The POG 2 by Electro Harmonix has an equalizer built in, if you tweak the equalizer a bit you get this crazy organ sound. If you bypass a delay pedal it creates longer and wider swells making it sound almost exactly like an organ, if you can combine the two into one pedal I would be one of your first buyers.

  • D Dixon

I like dunlop picks, I use them upside down a lot and scrap the textured side against the strings. I also like The Dunlop 535 Wah and have a couple of old ones from the early 1970′s. I have an original Dynacomp, the thing still works great. The foam inside of it rotted away.

  • tut

My favourite pick : a red Jazz III :) :)

  • http://jspumkinpresents.blogspot.com John Pesina

My favorite picks are the Tortex picks, particularly the green .88mm picks. Those are perfect for playing. I’d love to see something like a Dunlop version of DigiTech’s Whammy pedal.

  • Jimmy Mor

    i love dunlop picks!

  • robert zolty

My favorite picks are thin agate stone. I can pick quickly without having to wait for the pick to catch up with me. Also, if you press it against the strings it makes beautiful high chirp notes that can add an octave or any other note. You just have to be precise.

  • Kyle

I recently played in guitar centers king of the bluesbut lost out to mr.roosevelt collier (who will probably go on to win)but anyways a week or two afterwards i sold my vox tonelab ST to get a crybaby and ive have been extremely happy with what i got out of it.I really wish i would have had one before the contest, this is surely my favorite pick.

  • Kyle

Oh lol i meant the usa nylon is my favorite pick by far

  • ron

i love dunlop pedals and i’d love a carbon copy

  • imperious rex

ultex 1.0! great feel seems to get the most out the strings. its really the intangibles with picks.

  • Charles Obscure

I have a vintage ’74 MXR phase pedal, and any addition to my collection would be greatly appreciated.

  • simon

tortex picks always do it for me, they’re soft enough to get that relaxed, Hendrix-type tone, but when you dig in they can really howl.

  • Ramon Rivera

I prefer a heavy Dunlop pick to any other. They seem to hold up longer than others I’ve tried.

  • http://www.myspace.com/johnryzkanin John R Yzkanin

I love the new jazz 3 eric johnson picks. They do not slip out of your finger. Very cool!

  • Carlos M.R.G.

Dunlop Tortex 1.14mm. It has excellent texture and grip so doesn’t fall off your hands and also a nice and solid feel with great tone for that picking definition. Since i have tried them i wont play with anything else but Tortex!

  • Chris Laskowski

Dunlop 423 Tortex – .60 ga. Best picks for me. Superb grip and with the smaller shape, easier control. I also find pinch harmonics and ‘fast’ picking easier, smoother and no ‘click’ sound over the amp. Best pick I have tried – period.

  • Chase Thompson

How can I get my own custom picks, but with varying designs on every other 50 or so?

  • Erik Nordlund

My favorite pick in general is the purple tortex pick. I also like the black gators and the 208 Jazz Tones, but I always go back to the purple tortex.

  • Mark Hill

I would like to see a pedal that I can plug a guitar or bass into and get electronicy sounds out. Oh an I like medium blue plastic pix. Then I turn it up to 11…..

  • Tim Fillon

my vote is for an all in one

  • http://www.eufemia.net enrique sanchez

my favorite pick is tortex, always, I use two or three different gauges depending on the song, or the sound I want. Beautiful picks.

  • Michael Henry

Dunlop is the greatest Pitch Black Jazz for me. I like the the weight and speed.

  • nick

    jazz III

  • http://guitarworld.com AL S.

I find dunlop jazz 3’s to be one of the best things they have came out with in a long while, even though they are definitely suited twords a certain niche. They helped me get my pinch harmonics down, for example. All i can say is make sure you hold the pick in the most comfortable way, to prevent injury. And much respect goes to the time tested crybaby.

  • Kevin

Jeff Waters OVerdrive/ Distortion pedal. He is a killer guitarist

  • GARY VICUNA

Dunlop’s Ultex Sharp pick’s is a MUST for control, speed, clear tones and attack!!!

  • Mark

  • Ron Mathews

    I love my Crybaby. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet.

  • Ron Mathews

I love my gator grips. They have the perfect texture without losing grip too quickly.

  • Fugate

    I need one BAD!!! Twan.

  • http://www.soundclick.com/cevinclay Cevin Clay

Long Live Rock! Long Live MXR! This Anolog Delay Pedal is as sweet as a Honey Suckle On A Fine! Please Let me win one. Shesh! Dunlop Rocks!

  • http://theeldorados.org Mark Scardello

The Dunlop Tortex Standard Guitar Pick .50mm is the perfect pick for my style of going between surf style rapid picking and smooth whispering rhythm guitar without pick noise.

  • C Dill

    Heh.

  • OSCAR GOMEZ

MAN MXR IS DA BEST :D !!!!!!! I NEED DAT CARBON COPY,

  • Bill Hugo

MXR Ten band eq is a “must have” box to sculpt the sound of your amp when it’s placed in the loop. I love it !

  • http://jfebright@hotmail.com jason

    .88 mm

  • Kent Tamura

MXR products have been a main stay for as long as I can remember. From the ledgendary Dynacomp to the Super Comp. With MXR’s history of turning out tonefully indescructable products. It’s no wonder that MXR’ s Carbon Copy Analog Delay has become the best selling analog delay of all time.

  • David Carter

The picks that are only worthy of me playing are Dunlop Tortex .88 mm. Perfect for me and my picking technique. For a pedal I would like to see would be a David Gilmour distortion/overdrive pedal, he can nail some pretty wicked tones that are quite hard to get. (Atleast with my rig).

  • Neil Tennent

I only use Dunlop Picks. The jazz III, and the Tortex .73 and .88

  • Vincent Broeckaert

I own an old MXR Distortion + and it sounds really awesome!
I wish I had the Carbon Copy since I saw this pedal for the first time (the old one used by Andy Summers and the brand new for about one year now).

  • Vincent Broeckaert

I own an old MXR Distortion + and a Wah Dunlop, they sound both great.

  • http://www.myspace.com/heavylord Jeff

I would like to have the swollen pickle thing from Dunlop!

  • http://www.krosswindz.com Vikramjit Banerjee

My fav Dunlop gizmo is the Jimi Hendrix Wah,it just blows the opposition away no wah comes near!!!
On my wish list would be an Eric Johnson Signature Boost pedal that would give us his Godly Violin Lead Tone!!!

  • Dave

A pedal that exuberates the brown sound from one of the greats; VH.

  • Pierre-Olivier Blais

I use Big Stubbies! because they offer a good grip and just the right thickness. I play jazz blues and rock!! Thank you Dunlop

  • Gordon Caragan

An affordable, well-designed, BUFFERED A/B/Y switching pedal

  • στελιοσ

    PLS I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDD ITTTTTTTTT

  • Andrew Parker

I would love a pedal that gets the Dave Gilmour warm tone that he achieved whilst playing at the Albert Hall….. In fact any tone near the Gilmour mark would be great
