The self proclaimed “most brutal band in the world” is featured in this month’s issue of Guitar Player Magazine. Dethklok mentions using MXR’s Fullbore Metal as part of their skull crushing, eyeball melting, bone smashing sound. If you think that description is over the top, you should see the show. You may be asking then, how do cartoon characters use gear? To be more specific Brendon Small, the creator of the show Metalocalypse and lead song writer for Dethklok, has been a long time Dunlop fan.
“I used MXR’s Full Bore Metal and Carbon Copy. My main picks were Dunlop Jazz III’s, and I also started using 1.14mm Dunlop Ultex Sharps. I like them because they’re really heavy and dense, and the clear yellow color reminds me of a fungal toenail.” – Brendon Small of Dethklok
