Dunlop is proud to be a supporter of the Jason Becker’s Not Dead Yet Festival, a show that benefits Jason Becker, a guitar prodigy who at the early age of 20 was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). There will be special appearances by: Joe Satriani, Richie Kotzen, Steve Lukather, Michael Lee Firkins, The Kehoe Nation, Flametal, Hot For Teacher, and many more at Slim’s in San Francisco, CA on Saturday 3/26.

Jason Becker, a onetime guitar prodigy first known as part of the metal duo Cacophony, was diagnosed with ALS (aka Lou Gehrig’s Disease) at age 20, shortly after joining David Lee Roth’s band. Although the disease robbed him of his ability to play guitar – and eventually left him both paralyzed and unable to speak – Becker continues to compose music with the help of computers, collaborators, and a system of communication using eye movements that was devised by his father Gary.

Jason continues to inspire through sheer will and determination. A documentary film “Perpetual Burn” about his extraordinary saga is currently in production.

The Jason Becker’s Not Dead Festival is presented by Jason Becker with assistance from Guitar Player and the Tao Music Group, and support from the ALS Therapy Development Institute, Mesa/Boogie, Dunlop, and Triple Crown Clothing.

Proceeds from the evening go towards medical supplies for Jason as well as a trust fund to provide for his future security. For those unable to attend the festival, you can donate to Jason directly here. Your support is greatly appreciated!

For more information on the event, please check out their Facebook page or Venue site.
