  • Andy Birdwell

Nigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and…
Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?
    Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.
Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it’s louder? Is it any louder?
Nigel Tufnel: Well, it’s one louder, isn’t it? It’s not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You’re on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you’re on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?
    Marty DiBergi: I don’t know.
Nigel Tufnel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?
Marty DiBergi: Put it up to eleven.
Nigel Tufnel: Eleven. Exactly. One louder.
Marty DiBergi: Why don’t you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?
Nigel Tufnel: [pause] These go to eleven.

  • Dozer

Compact, well built, great tone. Exactly what you need, nothing more.

  • Antonio J. Fernández

  • Robert Horvick

Love starts with tone. MXR has it. Consistently impressive sounds. To add to the deal they come in a rock solid case, take tons of abuse, look great and hold their value well (in the unlikely event you ever needed to let one go …).

I love that they are small and can take a beating. They sound awesome!

  • Bryan Jones

I only use MXR/Dunlop because you can only sound as good as your gear.

  • Dave

    Solid and simple.

  • Mike

MXL pedals are fantastic. Perfect blend of vintage and modern tones in their line of products. I REALLY NEED THIS ONE!!!

  • http://twharrod@aol.com wayne harrod

  • Ben

I love MXR…Just ordered the Distortion + pedal, which will be the sixth MXR pedal on my board.

  • Bill Davis

MXR is the epitome of pedal greatness. Simple, no frills, and straight tone!

  • Elias

I could use one of these. I tried one out at Guitar Center, but didn’t have the money. plus my pedalboard is a bit… lacking.

  • Mallory

Affordable prices for indestructible gear! MXR can’t be beat!

  • Paul

The MXR pedals combine fantastic durability with real quality sounds, and at really reasonable prices – what’s not to like?

  • Roman

MXR is so small and so powerful! I just love they way how they change sound of a guitar into some kind of electric voice. I like how John Frusciante uses his MXR Micro Amp to add energy and craziness into his music. I would like to own myself this micro amp :) It’s fantastic.

  • http://www.assault-flattery.com Rocko

One of my first pedals was an MXR Phase 90. I loved that pedal, and when it was stolen I was crushed because at the time, production had ceased on them. I had to wait years to get a new one. I also used a Memory Man for years. Solid construction and absolute dependability in all MXR pedals.

  • Patrick Belanger

    awesome pedal, me wants!

  • Danny Vawn

It’s just the right thing to do.

  • http://www.sugapablo.com Russ Schneider

Quality. What more do you want? I sport a Carbon Copy on my board. Great little guy. :)

  • Brandon Buchert

I love MXR pedals. Dunlop is the only brand I buy because their products last forever.

  • James Bracey

Love MXR pedals. Would love this in my collection.

  • Michael Flake

I have been a faithfull MXR-Jim Dunlop pedal user for 30 years. In that time I have subjected these pedals to countless hours of rehearsing,gigging/touring and studio time. I could have always tried another brand, but why chance something (as important as your sound) to a knock off? Many brands have come and gone. But one has stood the test of time-MXR-Jim Dunlop.
As an Artist, these pedals allow the creative process to flow and have inspired Not only myself, but Countless other musicians to express their vision with more clarity. Its not a matter of your level of playing or style, MXR-Jim Dunlop pedals provide The Dependability, the Sonic Richness, the Legacy to take your Musical vision to a height, only you can set. And Far Beyond That as Well!

  • Joseba

    I love this booster!

  • andrew farrow

hey,i’d love to be included in facebook friday, especially with this pedal.

  • Joel Kaufman

Sounds great. Would be a great addition to the current lineup.

  • Zak Whiting

Three things: reliability, sound quality, and affordability.

  • Francis

Oh my God I am so digging this product. Never tried it in store before but next time I’m giving this beast a try!

  • Jason Turner

I would love to have this!

  • Jackson Scott Pertzborn

This would be great my band was looking for ways to get more dynamic contrast going into choruses, and with this we wouldnt need to mess with volume pedals :D

  • http://metalheadbanger.com John Lam

Great stuff, we need equipment liek this for the band, our old pedals are 3rd gen hand me downs and need constant repair, if you choose me, this would get alot of usage

  • http://www.pioneer-environmental.com Tom Speight

For me, it’s pretty simple– I like the engineering and the results. Everything is simple and very intuitive to use, every control actually does something important, and it’s easy to go from a very subtle sound to a very extreme one. The Phase 90 is a classic case– one knob, and it sounds good at every level from barely-there to flying-saucer noises. That’s a perfect pedal. I have five MXR/Dunlop pedals on my board right now, and they’re all keepers.

  • Phil Culshaw

MXR pedals are made tough, with awesome tone and great value. I’d love this MXR Micro.

  • Tim G

This would be an awesome addition to my current rig.

  • http://www.myspace.com/fictionreform Aaron

MXR pedals are built like tanks and sound great. What more can you ask for?

  • Joe

MXR rock!!! I’ve sold my others and strictly use them. No joke. I learned my lesson and the new ones Ed Friedland has been showing have me buying a Carbon Copy and the M288 Octave pedal.

  • Damon

MXR pedals while amazing straight out of the box, are also some of the original hot rod pedals. For all of us gear geeks who like getting even more bang for our buck, these pedals have always offered the simplicity to hot rod in just about every way possible to make the pedal we bought, sound unique and homebuilt.

Besides, who doesn’t need a little kick to the gain every once in a while? Would love to have it.

  • Bill Fredette

I love MXR. I have a Smart Gate and a Super COmp that I absolutely love. This pedal would be an awesome addition. Show me the pedal.

  • http://www.myspace.com/philippebaril Phil Baril

Simple and effective, that’s the way I like it. Keeps the soul of your sound by giving it some balls, that’s all you need.

  • Ian Jones

Everything I own from MXR is AWESOME!!! I’ve got a classic distortion that rocks harder than an stone rolling down a hill, I’ve got a Phase 100 that adds great texture to some of my clean tones, I’ve got a Pork Loin that is one of the coolest pedals I own, I’ve got a dyna comp that quacks when I want it to, and I just got in a CAE MC404 wah that I’m excited as hell to try out. The Micro Amp would be a great addition to my every growing pedal board. Help me feed my addiction…

  • Greg

In an era of plastic parts, rare reliability and tiny tone, MXR’s constant build quality, dependability and awesome tones could challenge anything from the past and outlast the contest far into the future.

Why would I need this micro amp? Being a college student leaves me very little time to head out and gig — and very little money to buy nice effects. My main outlet for my music is recording and sometimes I need a little push on certain instruments as well as microphones. It would also be nice to have something to add to my pedal board when I do play live (especially for my effects that need to be pushed). If I had it, it would be indispensable.

  • Tim Artz

I hate to be redundant but mxr pedals sound awesome and are built really well. I think i might make sweet love to my evh flanger tonite.

  • Greg Hagewood

been an MXR fan since the late 70′s, still have my original distortion + and i am currently using a micro flanger and carbon copy on my pedalboard…GO MXR OR GO HOME!!!

  • jon backlund

    sweet pedal

  • John Miller

Built like a Tank with sweet sweet tone.

  • Clas Peterson

What I love most about the MXR pedals is that they are sexy and sound even better than they look!

  • Jose Rodriguez

What I love about the MXR pedals is that the simplicity of the design and that they’re built to last. And the tones are just oh so sweet!!

  • Ray Kenniston

Gotta love the quality and of course the great tones you can get. These pedals are great and made to last!

  • James Staples

I love the bullet-proof design of MXR products. In our era of all-plastic, make-it-as-flimsy-as-our-bottom-line-will-allow crap, it’s nice to see that MXR still makes pedals that will can survive blast from a hand-grenade.

  • Shockers

    Build quality and tone.
    That simple.

  • Craig Enser

i love how sturdy they feel and how they don’t sound completely digitally processed like some other pedals *cough*boss*cough*

  • dale

An MXR pedal I don’t have. Great tone!

  • Stoltzy

MXR pedals are durable, reliable and – most importantly – they sound amazing!

  • Hayden Smith

  • Cody Cifelli

  • http://Facebook Tim Harrison

Sure hope I win, MXR and Dunlop are the best things on my pedalboard!

  • eric rendel

What I love most about MXR pedals is they are built to last. My Distortion + sounds as good as the day I bought it in 1975.

  • http://www.thefamous.net Victor Barclay

I love MXR pedals because they’re built like a tank, are simple to operate, are a great value for the money, but most of all – because they sound great!!!

  • http://facebook.com/zackjoll zack joll

  • Jeff H

MXR make the best pedals on the market. Period!

  • Al Lawrence

I’d love to win an MXR pedal, currently the only Dunlop pedal I own is my 535Q Crybaby, this would make a great addition to my pedal board!!!

  • Richard Malone

I have been looking at various MXR Pedals for my marshal/fender clone. This pedal will cure my pedal habit. It will help me deal with my anxiety issues from trying to manipulate 20 different tone and volume knobs. I just want to plug in, turn it all the way up and play. mxr rocks.

  • Frank Navarro

Everyone needs a micro amp in their signal chain.

  • Pedro Alves

What I most love about MXR pedals is how they make my guitar capable of sounding like a fighter jet muhaha If can’t fly one at least i can feel like it. Rock on!

  • Thomas Steadham

As I am unemployed I haven’t had the funds to look into anything like this so I have no idea how good it could be.I also doubt I will ever win it so this feels pointless.

  • Jamie

I need this. A couple years ago I was looking at pedal boards of bands that I like and they all had this. Hmm.

  • robert graham

love dunlop products and could really use that sweet pedal, im still new to guitar and have been saving up for some pedals which is why i think the friday giveaway is awesome. dunlop rocks!!!!!

  • brett

I love MXR pedals because they all sound kick-butt! I’ve now almost completed a whole MXR pedalboard but I still need one of these. The MXR board is quickly becoming my “go to” for gigs.

  • http://Serialpoets.com Rob Granger

Bulletproof construction and killer sounds without killing my tone — BRILLIANT… ’nuff said…

  • http://somekindofmuffin.wordpress.com Waltz

    Want so bad.

  • Logan Flake

Winning this…would really make this period in my life sooo much better. of course I love mxr products.dont all guitar players.

  • Robert vincent

I love the classic sounds of MXR.

  • http://thedirtywhite.com the Dirty White

I love that MXR pedals manage to always enhance my tone without changing it like so many other pedal brands. I also love that most of the MXR pedals are compact. I have a small pedal board so it helps that I can fit an extra pedal by using them. How on earth they manage to make the Analog Delay in such a small size goes beyond all comprehension. I currently use the 10 Band EQ, Carbon Copy Delay, Phase 90, and Blue Box. I couldn’t be happier with them. I always get complements on my tone after gigs, and questions about the crazy things I do w/ the Carbon Copy.

  • Tom Carico

The best thing is you are giving one away!

  • Zach

MXR is the best!!! Would love to add to the collection :-)

  • Jim Hamby

MXR pedals are the best built and most solid pedals around. thats why they’re the ONLY ones i use!

  • http://rodhomor.com Rod Homor

Heard good things about this pedal. I used to love my old MXR mustard-yellow Distortion Plus pedal from back in the 80′s.

  • Lee Martin

its got a really rough, greasy bluesy sound to it.

  • Christian M

MXR has classic pedals that people can duplicate but never replicate what MXR has to offer us players. Amazing tone in compact boxes that can look like a mouse and roar like a lion. Affordable prices and the perfect look give MXR a Must have in every pedalboard.

  • Tim Allison

I would love to try this unit out. I have been happy with all of my MXR pedals, especially the Phase 100 and Micro chorus!

  • William B Johnston

    Small size, big tone!

  • Geoff Proud

    I Love MXR/Dunlop.

    Thanks for such great products.

  • brian smith

    i want this !!!!!!

  • http://zombieshock.tumblr.com Chris Law

I really dig the organic tone I get from MXR & Way Huge! Very lush, natural sounding gear. I’ve grown to really dislike that “digital” sounding stuff, especially in delays and phasers.

  • Tom Aufroy

What I love the most about my MXR pedals ? The look ! Simple, compact, nice design… so cool :)

  • Nick Walker

MXR pedals are tough, cool looking, and they rock!

  • Henry Klobukowski

The combined quality and value of MXR pedals are what make them great. They’re classics for a reason.

  • Stephen Duginger

I SOOOOOOO need one of these for my board!!!

  • bryan carroll

I’m not sure what this pedal does but if I win one ill find out!

  • Matthew

Im looking for new pedals to go with my new amp

  • Thomas Paone

I love MXR – I play Bass & cannot live without my M-80 DI. I just added the EVH 90 because bass players can make awesome tones with a phaser too. I leaning towards a Carbon Copy next, but would LOVE a Micro Amp. Either way – you guys rock & I will be a supporter for life. Thanks.

  • David Coleman

I would love to have this pedal.

  • Ben

    I definately want in !!!!

  • Ben

What I like best about MXR is the size!!!! Small and sturdy!

  • Tony Troester

I love a good boost and this is one of them.

  • Dan

Great, strong, no frills. You stomp it, you hear it, you roll with the crowd. No messin’ around.

  • Gilby Deviant

I’m gonna go with durability. Those things are made like tanks.

  • Nicolai

I know some guys that use this to make their signal a little hotter after some signal sucking pedals – works well just as a boost/overdrive on my Vox too. Anybody try it for bass?

  • Holden

This pedal would definitely be rock and roll!

  • http://www.truevision.co.za Justis

Only been playing for about 3 weeks, but everyone I have spoken to has told me about some or the other Jim Dunlop product. Ill be buying some picks today and will soon be looking at getting myself some of your pedals… starting with the Original Cry Baby.

This demo was amazing. Great product.

    I want that pedal!!

  • Erick Martin

DUNLOP ROCKS!!! \m/ Gimme the goods man!

  • Jens H

    That’s the ticket: MORE POWER!!!

  • Lorin Cowell

9 Volt batteries have to be the 8 track tape cartridges of power supply: why have they lasted so long? While you’re developing a new and better access (not only do we lose screws, but we lose screwdrivers, as well – and it takes so long!) Tech institutes should be looking into a better, more streamline and less fragile way of making a good, strong contact than those breakable, bendable clips and pins.

  • Steve

That they allow you to create from nothing and that every once in awhile you dial in the tone you have heard in your head and everything is right in the universe for a few seconds.

    Rock.

  • Scott

MXR pedals are pure classic tones. They are built like a tank and durable for the roughest player or the road. Love them!

  • Bruce F

MXR Pedals are well designed, rock solid pedals that simply sound great! They’re designed for working musicians, but are enjoyed by every player..

  • Daphne

Best thing about MXR? Solid construction! I don’t have to feel like I have to be delicate using them. Also the best? Reliability! They do what they’re supposed to do, when they’re supposed to do it, and they do it with style! And the widespread selection is just amazing.

  • James

    GIMME! I WANT IT!

  • Humphryman

    I really want it.!! xD

Being An Eddie Van Halen fan(And having witnessed him In Action from the front row six times)-I totally Agree with what Daphne Above said.Sold All my BOSS&Switched to MXR.
    Enough said!

  • Moki

MXR does great pedals with a beautiful tone in a affordable price :) that’s why i love MXR :)

  • Brandon

I love how easy it is to dial in great sounds on MXR pedals, not to mention that they are a great size for any pedalboard. The Micro Amp is no exception to both of those categories, too.

  • Bill Bruns

Great size. Great sound. Indestructible. Great sound. Cool dude in the videos. Great sound. Easy to use. Great sound. Did I say great sound?

  • Lucas Benkenstein

I love the knobs.. keep turning them.. feels great

  • Joe Ginthwain

Dear Santa, please bring me MXR pedals for Christmas!

  • Alex

I love how they have great tone, plus they are in T-E-C-H-N-I-C-O-L-O-R!

  • Nathan

Dunlop RULE!!!! I seriously neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed this pedal!!!

  • Mark

    I love Dunlop!

  • Julius

    MXR pedals rock!!!!

  • Rick

I love MXR because the pedals are so durable, especially the switches. You can feel them click without even having to look at them to know you turned it on or off which makes for less guess work and being able to focus on what you’re doing more. They sound amazing and always have that great vintage tone I’m looking for.

  • Gabriel

MXR Pedals are super durable and are best at delivering the vintage tone that other pedals can only dream of. They go really great with my ’63 Fender Deluxe Reverb Blackface and really make it sing like the old days.

  • Alex

MXR pedals are great because they deliver 10 times out of 10. They’re durable, they last longer than any other pedals, they always have the best tone in the category. If you want to sound like a pro, always go with MXR.

  • Rick Hebert

MXR pedals are the choice of so many pros. How can you go wrong? They outlast everything else on the market and they always have the best tone in the biz.

  • Stanton H.

MXR pedals are built like tanks!!

  • Bill S

I have used many pedals since ’66, Including the original Phase 90 and the Dyna comp with a Foxx tone machine, big muff, original RAT, Vox 846 Wa… Over time the rest have faded in tone and sounded dated. The MXR pedals still hold up. I can still use them on a track and they sound fresh. Do you need any more of a recommendation? Dunlop is a stand up company.

  • http://www.plazmadesign.com.au Todd Hansson

I purchased my first MXR pedal a month ago… and Im going back for more. Totally impressive and exactly what I needed to add character depth and sound to my set up. Well done Dunlop.

  • dave levy

    tone, it’s all about tone!

  • http://www.myspace.com/mxr1980andhttp://www.facebook.com/solinasmario Mario

MXR pedals are freakin’ cool! little sized stompboxes and powerful sound, no other brand but dunlop MXR.
    Keep rockin’

  • http://www.myspace.com/milliondollardogmusic Joe Woodard

Whoo! The one MXR I don’t have!

  • Simon DeBevoise

I would love to have this pedal!

  • Ryan Bond

Love every MXR pedal I have. The Micro Amp would go great with my recently purchased Micro Flanger, which by the way is awesome. The demo video does the pedal no justice.

  • Ryan Bond

What I love most about MXR pedals is that they the epitome of simplicity. They don’t need gobs of buttons and switches buttons to achieve versatility AND great tone.

  • Benjamin Mossman

I love my MXR 288 Bass Octave Deluxe, and my Micro Chorus!

  • hank

Simple.. love the durability. They are tanks!!!!

  • Josh

Dude I’ve been looking for a eq type pedal to solo boost, I didn’t know there was one made specifically for it. This is looking pretty good right about now.

  • Josh

Oh yeah and I love the quality these things are made like fucking bricks!

  • DJ

MXRs are easy on the wallet but hard on tone. Great stuff!

  • Daniel O.

Was looking at one of these earlier, maybe I should pick one up.

  • Ken

    This is a great pedal.

  • Michael Duran

    These things are AWESOME :D

  • http://Facebook Deb Matelan

Great quality in a small package!

  • Andrew James Courtney

what else would you possibly need?

  • Tres Thomas

    Awesome Sauce :D DD

  • Brian Munson

Tone. Pure and simple. The perfect size pedal, very affordable, simple to use and they all sound amazing.

  • http://redhouselive.com Brian Burns

So bad@$$, it only needs one knob.

  • http://facebook.com/tntsparkz Nick Schmidt

Rugged, Rugged, Rugged. Some of the gear I use sounds good but feels a little flimsy. I had a pedal from another company that the battery holder/case just broke clear off of. Not a good thing to have in a pedal that you’re stepping on all of the time.

  • http://www.guitarworld.com Dan C.

MXR pedals are amazing! Not a bad one in the bunch and I would recommend them to anyone!

  • Rico Gonzales

I like that MXR pedals are there to heighten and accent a player’s individuality, as opposed to hiding it behind an array of sundry effects. It is always a new experience with these pedals because they allow me to find that sound that I just cant find by my own means :)

  • Dave Johnson

    wow! want want!!

  • http://www.myspace.com/lovekatvond René

MXR is the best pedal for the best price!!And they sound GREAT……….

  • Tim Long

I love the true analog signal path and bypass on MXR pedals. I also love MXR’s minimalist approach to the design of the control section of each pedal. It goes without saying that all MXR pedals are sonically phatt and rock-solid.

  • http://www,myspace.com/johnryzkanin John R Yzkanin

Great pedal. I own one for years and it still works perfectly.

  • anthony chang

rugged build! i have the noisegate and dyna comp. i could hammer these things and have them work fine. better, even.

  • John Pratte

I love my MXR stuff. I have been thinning out my board to include nothing but MXR. Great tones, low bones.

  • luke wilding

mxr pedals are just pure badass

  • taylor

    DAMN NICE STUFF MAN

  • http://zenghetto.com dan

MXR pedals are always solid right out of the box, just like your favorite jeans right out of the dryer. Never fussy, never frilly, never trendy. They’re easy to use, look sharp, sound musical, don’t take up all the space on your pedalboard, and are built to take a beating. The “go to” workhorse gear that just sounds, feels and plays right every time.

  • http://twitter.com/Raul_Riera Raul Riera

First, AWESOME sound. Second, very clever use of space in the pedalboard. should I talk about price too?

  • Mariel

A different world with only one push. Can’t get easier and better than this pedal!

  • Phayded

MXR are the only way to rock your socks off the second you stomp on them.

  • Michael Chase Friday

freakin rocks. definitely going in my next pedal board, along with the new BLS chorus. and ZW Wah.

  • Ross Hatcher

I like Dunlop pedals because of their performance and their trouble free operation night after night!

  • Paullimb

my wah wah the one with the fasel, doesnt have a true bypass, gutted as when off it sucks my tone, what on earth are Jim Dunlop thinking of, wasted my money, so back to looking to build a bypass pedal. By todays standard this is crap !!!!!

  • Marcelino

Hello, I have a doubt. I have a clean boost (from custom audio electronics), and when I want to boost my signal to make a solo, it doesn’t work if I have other pedals on, like the Distortion III… It only adds distortion to my sound. It only works if my sound is clean… Does the Micro Amp work like this or I may use it to make solos with Distortion/Overdrive? Thanks.

  • Jay

ive only ever owned Dunlop/MXR pedals. i dont know , they just work for me. i started off on a Crybaby Original then Jimi Hendrix (which i used for almost 20yrs.) now i have 2 of the new JERRY CANTRELL wahs. ive used a Rotovibe for the last 10yrs. (need to get a 2nd one) i have (but don’t use much) a Distortion3. my Smart Gate & Carbon Copy are almost always on. other MXR pedals i hve but again , don’t use as much are : Phase90 & a recently acquired Micro Chorus (which i love !). i play in a regularly gigging band (sometimes 4x a month !!) and i couldnt imagine not having any of my Dunlop/MXR pedals in my rig. they are built like tanks , sound amazing & in some cases , look really cool. oh and having the client list they have doesnt hurt either ! a few of my BIGGEST inspirations are Dunlop/MXR endorsees such as : JERRY CANTRELL (my personal demi-god) & SLASH. the only things i could suggest to Dunlop/MXR is ; maybe a chromatic tuner so i could have ALL Dunlop/MXR pedals on my board , and more JERRY CANTRELL Signature stuff like a “DIRT” distortion box , a CANTRELL Signature Rotovibe etc. anyway , im a die-hard Dunlop/MXR user. ALWAYS HAVE BEEN & ALWAYS WILL BE !!

  • chris

where in your pedal chain is the boost ?

  • Uoft93

    Boost is always last.

  • Keiselcolton

mxr is the greatest guitar effect pedals you could ever add to your music

  • busterleadbelly

Built like a tank with top quality components to shape and filter sound like no other electronics available. With MXR you always put your best foot forward.

  • Alex

I just got my first mxr pedal – the carbon copy and love the warm analog sound it produces. I love the small and sturdy shell and I am deciding between a micro amp or cae line driver as my boost pedal.

  • Jeffgreenebass

    I love the natural sound!

  • Unadan

We’re here to talk about the MXR Micro Amp.  Just sayin.

  • Thomas Braun

MXR effects are simple to use, yet extremely effective. This holds true even for a tool as simple as the Micro Amp. Turn it on and you instantly hear the difference, then adjust it to your desire. Placement in the signal chain is important, however, as with any effects pedal.
