Today’s Friday Giveaway is as awesomely straightforward as it gets: a Way Huge Fat Sandwich distortion pedal!

This probably goes without saying, but we at Dunlop are big fans of distortion, and the Way Huge Fat Sandwich is one of our favorites. The Fat Sandwich delivers heaps of crunchy distortion goodness via its innovative multi-stage clipping circuit. Meticulously designed from the ground up, the passive tone stack was tuned to bring out the “sweet spot” with any guitar and amp combination. The Volume control produces tons of output, making it ideal for driving the headroom out of the most powerful tube amps. Additionally, the Fat Sandwich has two internal mini controls: the Curve knob lets the user fine-tune the corner frequency of the overdrive filtering and the Sustain control adjusts the gain of the final distortion stage. The Fat Sandwich is versatile and over the top—the consummate distortion pedal for any genre or playing style.

To enter to win this awesome pedal, use the comments section tell us all about your favorite sandwich—what’s on it, where do you get it? (And can you send one to us? Okay…kidding about that…)

  • http://twitter.com/KTownEgghead Jordan Smith

Who goes out to get a fast food sandwich when you have the tools to make the BEST DAMN SANDWICH around?

I use a hoagie roll as my bread of choice. I toast it for starters. I then proceed to fill it with black forest ham, crispy bacon, and salami slices. None of that brand name lunch meat crap, but actual deli meats. Mmm.

I then take pepperjack cheese and go crazy on this masterpiece. Can’t ever have enough cheese. I then smother one side of the bread in mayo and mustard. Throw some large iceberg lettuce leaves and spinach leaves in there and you’ve got yourself a piece of heaven.

One time I was really rather hungry and after diligently searching my refrigerator and cupboards, my efforts had yielded only three items: Bread, Bologna, and Peanut Butter. My attempts at locating jelly or mayo were fruitless. Bologna and peanut butter are both sandwich foods right? So I decided to just attempt the combination. Anticipation quaking within me as I spread the creamy brown glory upon my bread. What prospect is this that I’ve ventured for; I lay the bologna in the soft golden bed. Finally I raise the creation, ever so curiously to my mount, and bite.

( a fried egg can be added for flavor.)

  • Bill

Oh Lord… Here we go, you gotta make this one. The “Manwhich.” First off you’re gonna need a pretzel bun. Butter the crap out if. There’s gonna be blood in your butter stream got it?  Then we’re gonna take a 1/2 lb beef patty. Grill that over an oak fire. Slap that beast on your bun. SLAP IT ON THERE. Show that bun you mean bidness! Then you need bacon. LOTS OF BACON. Layer that bacon on thick. If you’re arteries aren’t crying after this, you did it wrong. Then we’re gonna put some jack cheddar on over that. GOT IT? Now pull yourself out a fried chicken breast. FRIED, WE DON’T DO GRILLED! SLAP ON SOME MORE BACON. Follow it up with American cheese. Now you needs a sausage patty. A BIG OLE SAUSAGE PATTY. Put that beast on there and ADD MOAR BACON. Then you need MOAR CHEESE. Next you need some fried onion rings. Place them on top gently.. HAH I’m kidding, not gently. VIOLENTLY! Then drench this abomination in your favorite BBQ Sauce. I WANT IT TO DROWN IN IT! Then add the last and final bun to the top. DONE. Eat it. Eat it good.

Favorite sandwich would have to be the classic fried egg sandwich. you have to put some cayenne pepper and garlic on the egg, then melt some cheese, add bacon, ham, or both, if your feeling it. Toast the bread and your almost done. No sandwich would be complete without hot sauce and ketchup. and thats about it, I hope my sandwich is worthy enough.
you can order it at a diner if you wanted to, but there just aint nothing like making it yourself. a good home cooked sandwich will always hit the spot. also this sandwich takes about 5 minutes to make so, your not having to fiddle around for 40 minutes trying to make sandwich when you could be practicing riffs to rock on your new way huge pedal .

It’s a toss up between a place in Opryland and an old fashioned shake joint on the west end of town. The shake joint has a guacamole jalapeno pico de gallo burger which goes great with the sweet potato fries (which they have icing for but I elect to go with ketchup) and my personal favorite the Donna Reed milk shake (like an apple pie in a cup). Friggen delicious and good size portions. The other joint I get a bison burger and it’s huge; I get it topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapenos, monterey jack, sometimes I ask for wing sauce, sometimes I ask for bbq, and sometimes I go with ketchup, with an order of onion rings (which always gets ketchup) and a bottle of beer. Always have trouble finishing the plate and leave stuffed. The Fat Sandwich looks pretty delicious, would love to try it at some point…..

Well when it comes to a big fat tasty sandwiches – well they are
indeed plentiful. Thus it is difficult to nail down to just a single
taste bud tantalizing and hunger crushing delight, so here are a couple of my favs:

First up is the almighty Reuben

    Ingredients:

    hearty black forest rye read

    thinly sliced corned beef

    thousand island dressing

    Swiss or brick cheese

    sauerkraut

    Prep:

Lightly coat one slice of the black forest rye bread with real butter
that has softened – forget that margarine crap. Place the slice rye read
buttered side down on a plate and coat the other side of the slice of
rye bread with the thousand island dressing to taste. Now pile on the
slice of rye bread the sauerkraut preferably drained. Next stack a pile
of the corned beef on top and add a couple slices of cheese. Now coat
one of the other slice of bread with thousand island dressing and place
coated side down on the cheese and lightly butter the other side. Now
place the sandwich on a griddle or grill and toast it as desired. Serve
with a dill pickle spear, chips, and a nice cold cream stout beer.
    Enjoy!

Next up is a sub that I have not named.

    Ingredients:

    10″ Sourdough Bread Round

    shaved turkey breast

    sliced hard salami

    peperoni slices

    black olive salad

    sliced sweet onion

    Monterrey Jack cheese

    honey mustard

    Prep:

Slice the bread round horizontally. Coat the top of the bottom slice
with honey mustard, then layer on the meats and cheese as desired, add
onions, heap on the olive salad, and top with the other slice of bread.
Serve with a cold Samuel Adams cherry wheat beer and enjoy!

There are others like red peppers, mushrooms, grilled onion, and ribeye
on jalapeno cheese bread. How about sliced turkey breast on a fresh
    baked stuffing bread?

And for those who aren’t into dead carcass we have a vegan treat.

    Ingredients:

    Crusty Italian bread round

    Portabella mushrooms

    Vidalia onions

    roasted red peppers

    mozzarella cheese

    roasted garlic spread

    balsamic vinegar

    Prep:

Slice the mushrooms into a bowl and toss with the balsamic vinegar. Heat
a skillet and add a little olive oil or butter, add sliced vidalia
onion and saute until they start to caramelize, then add the sliced
mushrooms and saute until tender. Slice the Italian bread round
in half horizontally, coat the inside of each slice with a healthy
amount of the roasted garlic sandwich spread. On the bottom slice of bread cover spread with the roasted red peppers. Place the mushroom and onion mixture on top of the peppers, add cheese and top with the other slice of bread. Enjoy!

    Peace!

My favorite sandwich is the one my Dad makes hes a gourmet chef so you get the picture. He puts some special meat down on some french bread with some thousand island dressing and all the other “goods” and the taste is like what you would experience at woodstock when jimi hendrix played the star spangled banner and voodoo child.

  • http://twitter.com/mungo6000 mungo6000

The ideal sandwich has some nice, juicy, saturated bacon to go along perfectly with my juicy saturated distortion. It also has some mayo, because mayo rocks. Also in there is a nice plump Swollen Pickle, and some Pork Loins as well for some delicious, tender flavor. Followed by more bacon, some guitar picks, and a knife. Of course, all of this has to be made by an Angry Troll, because they add their “secret ingredient,” Green Rhino blood. All of this served on a silver platter with a cold glass of Aqua Puss.  Mmm mm good

  • Joe Lemire

Love meatball, provalone, and lots of black olives on cheesy Italian bread form Subway.  Smells great and tastes even better.  Oh yeah, and only $2.  I swear to you that I am not affiliated with them in any way except that I am a major reason for their success.

Not truly a sandwich but a stuffed bbq burger
its made with chilli powder(2tbsp), black pepper(1tsp), raw sugar(4 tbsp), cumin(1tsp), salt(2tbsp), garlic powder(1tsp), celery seed(1tsp) mixed unto 2lbs of hamburger meat. next fry up some applewood bacon and cut into small pieces. make a half patty then lay some bacon on top of it then place another half patty on top and seal the edges. Smoke on the grill for 6 minutes per side. makes 5-8 bugers depends on the thickness of burger you like. Dont forget to toast your buns and add your favorite toppings

There’s a little deli in downtown Hartford called the Take Five, and they make this Italian cold cut sandwich on focaccia bread.  They scoop out the bread a little and add, it’s like an italian salsa, and some shreaded lettuce, cut fine, and sliced tomatoes.  They dizzle it with olive oil and sprinkle salt and pepper.  Yeah, it’s got all those supposedly bad meats that we’re not supposed to eat but once a month my arteries can handle it.  And the provelone is fantastic.  I can only eat half and I save the rest for dinner.  With a snapple it comes to less than $10 bucks, which isn’t too bad for a special treat.  But the really awful thing is that we’re vegetarians at home, so I kind of sneak it.

    My perfect sandwich: make a
toast, spread minced garlic evenly on top, put some roasted pepperoni
(or any sausage you like) and add grated cheese (the more the better!). Spice it up with
oregano and black pepper. Put it in a microwave for apr. 1-1.5 minutes
(until the cheese is melted). And AC/DC paying as a background music :-D Super easy, cheap and tastes fantastic. Enjoy!

my favorite sandwich can be bought at any well stocked music store. First i start with a fat slice of Fender bread, for the bottom slice I use a Hot rod Deville (tweed means whole wheat.) Then i put on the meat, an extra phat distortion (the way huge fat sandwich would taste perfect) Then I’d add a crunchy compressor of lettuce. Top that off with a juicy red slice of phaser. For the condiments i think a spicy broown wah would work great. And lastly the top slice of Fender bread, a Stratocaster. I think that would taste extra good.

Steven’s Fried Tofu Sandwich – my recipe
Don’t knock it till you try it. Everyone I’ve ever served it to always asks for seconds.
If you’re tofu-phobic think of it as an oriental fired cheese sandwich.

    * Take a block of firm tofu and slice in to thin flat slabs between 1/4″ to 1/8″ thick.
    * Fry both sides of the slabs with butter on a fairly hot grill (but not hot enough to burn the butter) till tofu’s surface is leathery and kinda looks like french toast. This will take a a few minutes, Keep the grill buttered enough so that the tofu doesn’t stick and keeps sizzling.
    * Toast 2 slice of your favorite bread – I prefer Orowheat Oatnut,
      * Put mayo on one slice, grainy deli mustard on the other.
    * Layer the fired tofu slabs on the bread till the bead is covered.
    * Add a leaf of Red Lettuce a couple of rings of red onion
    * Serve
Frying the tofu in butter gives the tofu a nice texture and flavor, the mustard, mayo and onion give nice flavor accents.

This makes a satisfying ‘Fat Sandwich’ that tastes great, is good for you (with the possible exception of the fried butter but there’s not a lot of that) and keeps them coming back for more,

I’m allways starving for good food so as for good music, and to sactisfy my deepest hunger off all which is music, i need these ingridients: A Big Fat Marshall by Valve Power and some more Marshalls with Head; then i need Wireless Jacks; A Fuzz Pedal; A whawha Crybaby Pedal; A Juicy and Noisy Powerful Distortion Pedal; an Octave Upper; A Whammy Pedal; A Noise Supressor Pedal; A Chorus Pedal; A Flanger Pedal; A Fender Stratocaster Vintage 57 Balck, with a Black EMG Humbucker Pick-up 81X, A White fender Single Coil Pick-up, and a Black DiMarzio Humbucker Super Distortion DP100. That’s the full Sandwich that i could eat every single time without getting tired of… I rather die from hunger of not at food than the hunger of not play guitar!

The fattest sandwich of them all is my Mortadella De Luxe. It’s made of 1 decent ciabatta bread, a good ol’ splash of mayo, 1 sheet of fresh letucce, two slices of fine ripe tomato, and at least about 1 pound of genuine italian olive mortadella and you’re good to go. It just tastes FATtastic. All the ingredients you can buy at you local grocery store and just make it yourself. Easy!!!

I’m a real man: I eat a sandwich filled with guns and knives. And the bread is two steaks. I can actually send you one if you would like!
