I would probably have to say a Vintage Goldtop Les Paul, ’52 Butterscotch Tele, a custom designed Cornish pedalboard, and a Plexi. Merry Christmas to all.

  • http://www.facebook.com/alan.thompson.7106 Alan Thompson

My dream rig is a two-amp setup, with a 50 watt Marshall and a 40-50 watt Fender amp, with a Tonebone switcher with phase switching, a nice pedalboard with a selection of vintage pedals, and a collection of Fender, Gibson, Gretsch, and other guitars. I am working on it, and have some of these things now. One day I’ll finish my dream rig.

  • http://www.facebook.com/brent.h.stewart Brent Stewart

I’ll take whatever David Gilmour has!

  • http://www.facebook.com/nosamnoraa Aaron Mason

I can think of many “dream” scenarios. Some quite elaborate. Some very simple. I always prefer tube amps, Fender or Gibson guitars and analogue effects. Today, my dream rig would be an original 1959 Les Paul Standard < Vox Wah Pedal < Tone Bender (or any good 60's era fuzz) < Echo Plex (or any good tape delay) < Marshall Model 1962.

  • WT

Dream rig would be to have Eric Johnson’s hands and talent.

  • Don L

I would like to have an original tone bender like Jimmy Page had. And a theramin too!

  • http://www.facebook.com/rusty.teasdale Rusty Teasdale

Vox AC120 with an Orange 4 12 cab then a pedal board with digital delay, reverb, crybaby, distortion, and OD….with a gibson LP and a Fender jaguar.

  • http://www.facebook.com/jeff.hopkins.9887 Jeff Hopkins

A nice Les Paul Standard, a Marshall half stack and a huge assortment of pedals!

  • Mark Nason

An American strat, Marshall tube amp, and a loaded pedal board!

  • salmonline

A Fender Strat, a couple MXR OD/distortion boxes, some other stuff and an MXR Stereo Chorus running to 2 mid-power tube combo amps(for the stereo effect, of course)

  • http://www.facebook.com/jeremiah.lind.5 Jeremiah Lind

My Dream Rig would be a whole bunch of Marshall Stacks mixed with vintage and bass speakers with a mid 60′s SG. I would run it through these 2 MXRs, an Iron Bells fuzz, a Hyperion by Devi Ever, a Hendrix Wah, and an Ernie Ball Volume. I also have a Mid 80′s DOD Flanger and a Korg Chorus which are awesome. I would have a back up of a bunch of vintage bad ass guitars including the original Moderne built in the 50′s :)

  • David Jurickovich

    Gibson -> mxr pedalboard-> Marshall.

  • Andy

Vintage Strat into a 59 Bassman w/ Tube Tape Echo!

  • Terry Harvey

My Les Paul and my ASAT Special, with my MXR loaded pedalboard, minus the OD and Dist. I’m trying to win here, into my Fender Blues Deluxe.

  • dfprice

I love a Les Paul going through my Divided by 13 RSA 23. On the floor I must have as many effects as I can without going over the top and having people focus more on my pedal board rather than my playing. I love the rotovibe, EVH flanger, and various other modulation sounds.

  • http://www.facebook.com/jdoot Jared Doot

Gibson LP with EVH 5150 iii stack, and a loaded pedal board!

My dream rig? An Ibanez Universe into a Mesa Boogie Mark V, with various pedals in between.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Alejandro-Aldana/683878171 Alejandro Aldana

my dream rig would be owning an axe effect 2, it does everything.

  • http://www.facebook.com/shane.huckeba.5 Shane Huckeba

Every couple of weeks I have a different dream rig. Right now I want a PRS NF3 a Budda Superdrive a JC wah, CMB Overdrive, EVH Phase 90, and a Carbon Copy Delay. And maybe some sort of Fuzz! Merry Christmas Everyone!

  • http://www.facebook.com/paul.the.deadman Paul Oblong

Dream rig? Oh man……I’ll never find it. That’s the beauty of it I suppose. I’ve never had much money to work with so I’ve gotten used to using whatever is available or on the discount rack. My rig has always been and will likely continue to be a motley assortment of whatever I have that works. I’ve found that time spent with any amp or set of pedals or any guitar can eventually get you a sound that you like. However, if money was no object, I’d probably use a ton of old gibsons and every pedal known to man. I’ll go 6 songs in a set with nothing but a fuzz pedal and then I’ll use 12 pedals to get a particular sound for 12 seconds of an intro. Unlike hte Edge though, I actually know how to play my guitar without the pedals.

  • http://www.facebook.com/jason.gifford.75 Jason Gifford

My Dream Rig – Early 70′s Hiwatt DR-103 w/ a Hiwatt SE 4123 4×12 cab loaded w/ 50w Fanes, Gibson SG and a Univox Super Fuzz (Original Grey Version). Simple…yet perhaps the greatest live tone of all time. Merry Christmas Everyone!

  • mark walker

I change my mind every week on what I want, but I’ve been playing country lately so: Telecaster THinline- volume pedal-TS9-OD- compressor- chorus-delay- Fender Twin reverb

  • http://www.facebook.com/adam.abelson Adam Abelson

both of those pedals sound great! i’ll welcome the badass od into my arsenal, whether or not i win one. my dream rig is simple but expensive: dumble overdrive reverb, ’57 strat, vox wah, pigtronix ep2, fulltone tape delay, original tube screamer, fulltone full drive 2 and a pigtronix philosopher’s twin.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Scott-Harris/1310455366 Scott Harris

I have a Reverend Club King RT which is not too dissimilar to the Warhawk fuzz box girl used to demonstrate. I’d love to run it through the Badass 78; into a reverb pedal and then my Valve Jr.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Randy-Joslin/100000194281587 Randy Joslin

My ultimate dram rig would be a setup of two separate 50 Marshall JMP heads with Telefunken Preamp tubes and old Sylvania 6CA7 power amp tubes, Mercury Magnetics power and output transformers and chokes. The heads would drive one stereo-wired 1960B Marshall 4X12 cabinet, re-wired internally with 10-gauge speaker wire, with two Celestion Alnico Gold speakers and two Celstion Vintage 30 speakers. The head would connect to the speaker cabinets using 10-Gauge wire. I would use the top-end Planet Waves cables. Feeding this rig would be a ’59 Les Paul, with an effects setup that includes a MXR Modified Overdrive, MXR ’78 Distortion, Dime CryBaby From Hell wah pedal, a Dunlop Uni Vibe pedal, and a MXR Stereo Tremolo, and a CAE MC401 Boost/Line Driver.

  • MrScooter65

    A Tele into a Line6 Valve 212 MKII amp

  • Adam Holmok

Dream rigs. Gotta love it. Mine would be a multiple amp setup. Right now I’d have to say somethin from 65 amps, somethin from the good Dr., and a vintage Fender to handle the cleans. Pedalboard would be a snakeskin pistola. Pedals would include a mix of analog/ digital delays. Multiple dirts. Some modulation effects. A wah. And lastly an assortment of guitars. Solid and hollowbody Gibson, Fender electrics. Martin, Gibson, and Taylor acoustics. There would be no end…

  • http://twitter.com/GodsOfTheEarth Eric Cox

1958 Gibson Les Paul Standard, Marshall Silver Jubilee 2553 head, Marshall 4×12, and a variety of effects pedals including MXR Flanger, MXR Analog Delay, Jim Dunlop Cry Baby Wah.

  • macaddyct

Vintage Strat straight into a vintage Fender amp, w/reverb and tremolo.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000856525351 Gregory Bodish

Les Paul 1959 and a Marshall stack

  • Bill Santner

    A 59 led Paul and … after that it doesn’t matter. :-)

  • Jake Bunger

The rig I’ve always wanted to build (but not necessarily have to tear down & set up!) would involve two amps and a pan pedal: on one side of the pan pedal would be amp #1, with that nice clear-as-a-bell clean tone from an old Fender VibroVerb or something from the silverface era, coming out through a 2×12 cabinet w/ Celestion 30s in it. In that chain I think I’d add the option for some OD (a Custom Badass, perhaps?). And on the other side of the pan would be some wound-up howler, like a Boogie dual-rec, driving a 4×12. Where the pan would let play some nice gravelly tones on the ‘kinder, gentler’ side of the fence w/ the MXR & Fender, then hit & hold a note, and get a bit of sustain going before tipping it over into the mean & angry side of things w/ the Boogie’s dirty channel. Start things off with a semi-hollow body (Thinline Tele?) or quite possibly one of my wood-bodied Parkers. Throw in a wah for the occasional tone flavoring. Then turn it up and color me happy.

  • Curmudgeon

Oh for a Fender Bassman and a Fender Twin and a Leslie cabinet to “round it out”…

  • Blooze

59 Les Paul with a Marshall Jubilee head.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=643690988 Kevin L. Gibbs

I’m thinking Gibson LP custom, Fuzz box, Delay, Overdrive, anything else effect oriented, all through a Marshall Stack.

  • Dave Blake

My dream rig is a Gibson Les Paul into a Crybaby Wah into a Marshall Plexi with some Delay thrown in the signal chain. That and a bunch more lessons.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002215389750 Bill Haines

Ok, now I am really dreaming……A Gibson traditional pro, Marshall half stack, and of course two wonderful pedals that I have never had the opportunity to create myself with, the MXR Overdrive and the MXR 78′ Distortion pedals. I have watched most of the videos and am very interested in these bad ass pedals. With this set up I would have quite the opportunity to endulge in my own fantacy’s.
Happy Holidays to all of the Dunlop family and employees and also vendors that make peoples dreams come true.

  • Andrew

Sunburst Les Paul with a nice boutique tube amp. Can’t go wrong with that!

  • Michael Johnson

’54 Strat and a late 50s Les Paul into a ’64 Fender Super Reverb.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Andrew-Meyer/100002215574769 Andrew Meyer

A nice thick-bodied PRS singlecut (no trem, gotta have a nice simple tune-o-matic) through some good pedals (wampler, anyone?); I’d at least need a phaser, chorus, and delay, maybe tremolo. Two Twin Reverbs for clean tones, turned up for just a little bit of coloration from the tubes. For rhythm tones, maybe a mesa dual rec blended with a nice Traynor, for leads a Bogner Shiva blended with a cranked Marshall (maybe a plexi) or Traynor. Really can’t go wrong with Traynor. This is of course assuming I’ve got roadies to set it up for me. For now, I’ll live with my nice simple guitar>pedals>amp setup.

  • Steven

Gibson LP custom, Delay, Overdrive, a couple other pedals and a Kemper Profiling Amp.

  • nateh107

Dr. Z , G+L legacy Strat , Les Paul custom Goldtop Pedals would be CAE Dunlop Wah , JB signature fuzz , Univibe and MXR CC delay maybe an OD to be determined MMMMMM….

  • Tim Lindquist

    ’57 Fender Strat … ’59 Fender Bassman … B.K. Butler Tube Driver !!!

  • GUSS

Gibson Les Paul- Crybaby- Marshall- cup holder.

  • daveminda

Dream rig – that’s a tough one. I’m still not sure what works best for me. Probably a ’59 Les Paul, but a ’62 Strat /might work out well, too. Marshall, no, wait, Fender, or maybe the ultimate – the Dumble. Univibe, fuzzdace, my Big Bad Wah. That should be a good start…

  • Dave B.

If it’s a “dream”, then I’d want John Lennon’s original Epiphone Casino and Vox amp. Hmmm….maybe 2 Vox amps at the same time; one clean and one with OD.

  • Michael

Any older Gibson with two nice humbuckers and a Twin Reverb! A Crybaby and some overdrive, too.

  • Jared Skinner

Vintage ’57 LP, vintage Marshall head and cab, Analog Man King of Tone, maybe some effects pedals and a nice place where i can CRANK THEM!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/steve.kheboian Steve Kheboian

Main signal path: crybaby from hell, whammy dt, hardwire cm-2 or custom badass od, big muff pi.
Fx loop: mxr analog chorus, carbon copy, boss ph-2, and the mc401. All through a tsl head.

  • http://www.facebook.com/howard.gabriel.5 Howard Gabriel

Dream rig would be a PRS Santana to a Fender Bassman to through Stymon Flint followed by these two wonderful Overdrive and Distortion pedals.

  • Gabe

ibanez fireman > mxr blue box > digitech envelope filter/autowah > mxr modified o.d. > mxr ’78 distortion > analog delay > marshall half stack. done and done.

  • MetalRecordingServices

May you see the light, both of those pedals here and new Rockers and Metal heads would actually try them instead of looking at the boxes in stores

  • Gadget guitars

1960 Les Paul ( of course ) Marshall 50 watt JCM 800, Marshall 1960 Cabinet with 4×10 vintage 30 Speakers, Gibson vintage strings (10′s), Tortex picks, Gator pedal board, TC Electronics Mini Polytuner, Dunlop original wah, Custom Badass 78 Distortion, Custom badass modified OD, Handwired MRX Phase 90, TC Eletronics “John Petrucci” Dreamscape, EP Booster, Samson Wireless. Studio, Food, Water, Toilet, Bed, Women, A lifetime of stages and gigs, and to be able to play uninterrupted for the rest of my life!

  • http://www.facebook.com/greg.oblock Greg O’Block

my ultimate dream rig consists of the following: a 7 guitar rack, a 16U rack, and stereo amp setup.

guitars: 59 Les Paul Std, Custom 57 LP w/ HB Bridge and P90 Neck w/ Purple Sparkle finish, Les Paul Std Faded, Vintage white “relic” strat, Surf green 62 Tele custom, Gibson ES 335 sunburst w/ block inlays, and a Taylor 814ce.

The rack would be running a Furman power conditioner, Line 6 Relay G90, a Peterson strobo rack tuner, BBE sonic maximizer, Noise gate, drawers to keep spare accessories/parts in, and a custom in/out panel at the bottom.

Pedalboard would be a Salvage custom board with the following signal chain: Polytune -> Custom wah w/ purple sparkle enclosure, chrome top, and vintage-correct circuit -> JHS Banana Boost -> Walrus Audio Mayflower -> Custom 2-in-1 fuzz (left side is Fuzzface circuit, right is Tonebender mkII) -> MXR Vintage 74 Phase 90 -> Red Witch Empress Chorus -> JHS Panther Delay -> Eventide Reverb

Amps will be run in stereo; I will be using a Red Iron Amps bronx head into a 4×10 open back cab, and a Dr. Z Maz 18 Head into a 2×12 closed back cab.

Everything will be wired with Lava cables (Wireless coils for the guitar, solderless pedalboard kit, ELC for long cables, and Tephra speaker cable)

Signal goes as follows: Guitar goes to G90 wireless in rack, then out from the rack to the pedalboard, then back to the rack into the sonic max and noise gate, then out again from rack into amps. For the rack to the board there would be a Lava cable snake w/ 3 ELC lines (1 into board, stereo back to rack) and A/C line to power the board from the Furman.

  • http://www.facebook.com/zachary.may.14855 Zachary May

My dream rig would be a Gibson Les Paul plugged into a Marshall with the MXR custom bad ass OD and Distortion, along with a delay, reverb, flange, and Crybaby wah pedal!

  • GregB

    P-90 semi-hollow into a 1972 Fender Twin Reverb (not a reissue)

  • mike alan

My ULTIMATE rig would have to include an NS / (Chapman) Stick [Ned Steinberger's a genius & those tap instruments seem to offer the most flexibility]. Let’s slap a Roland MIDI setup on there. A Radial Big Shot will help with a multi-amp configuration. An Ampeg & a Mesa Rectifier will be on the far end. In between, there’s a Tube Screamer, Jekyll & Hyde, Keeley Katana, Eventide Timefactor, Goodrich Active, Keeley Compressor, Zvex Tremolo Probe, T-Rex Roommate, Fulltone Clyde Deluxe, MXR Flanger, Fulltone Choral Flange, & Boomerang+.

  • VW
