I’d have to say out off all the MXR and Dunlop products I’ve owned , that I enjoy the KFK EQ the most because I can use it after effects to filter and enhance fx into whole sounds. Also the chicks dig the red wave in the dark :)

  • Joseph Wayne

I gotta go with the M-80. It’s great as an EQ boost as well as a grit box, and the blend knob is crucial to the incredible variety of dirty tones you can get without losing any bottom. Oh yeah, DI doesn’t hurt, either. ; )

  • Paul

    Cry baby!

  • TonyB

Dunlop Tortex picks because they’re indestructable and never lose their shape.

  • http://www.guitarpedals.tumblr.com chad

The Crybaby-or the Phase 90…but are must haves.

  • http://twitter.com/Petroguy Jason F

Ironically enough, the Carbon Copy is my favorite Dunlop product that I have tried. The Carbon Copy does the warm analog delay better than anything else I have tried. It is an anchor on a pedal board that is other wise subject to change.

  • Aaron Toombs

My favorite Dunolup product is my MXR EVH Phase 90. I’ve had it for a year and I’ve never gotten bored it. I love the all the sounds I can get out of it, enabling me to play different styles of music! Great pedal!

  • http://www.myspace.com/lessthanthreegrunge The Infamous Riles

Tortex picks, Never felt a better feeling pick!

  • Luka

Out of the 6 Dunlop pedals on my board i’d have to say that the MXR Blue Box is my favorite. I just love the nintendo sounds I can get out of it. :D

  • Giulio

Phase 90 is absolutely my favorite. Perfect to play anything from Pink Floyd to Led Zeppelin and much more.

  • Oscar

MXR Crybaby classic, why? there’s history, sound historic!!

  • Chris

Dunlop Tortex picks!! Why because that are the best picks in the world!!! And because they are epic!!!

  • http://www.ljutepapricice.com Bogdan

My favorite Dunlop product is Crybaby Bass Wah 105Q ! We bass players don’t get much fun playing with pedals but this was only wah that actually sounded good with my bass and it is so fun to use. I use it regularly on gigs and on solo spots where I can color my bass sound and make it funky! :)

  • http://www.myspace.com/leechavezmusic Lee Chavez

    My favorite’s are…

    Any crybaby,

    Phase 90

    THE CARBON COPY

    ZW/GT-OD Overdrive pedals

    MXR Stereo Chorus

Never have you guys put a bad pedal out.

  • http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/profile.php?id=630682532&ref=profile Shelby MacAulay

the GCB-95 wah, its the best pedal i’ve ever used or had, i play little jams on it everyday, and theirs absolutley nothing wrong with it except it that it is not accompanied by more of these amazing pedals, to bad i dont have any spare coin to buy anymore pedals

  • JoseU

I own the crybaby zw45. It´s the best crybaby ever, waaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!

  • http://www.buddyhawke.com/ BuddyHawke

The MXR Smart Gate pedal has become the one pedal I can’t do without anymore. It keeps my crazy overdriven effects chain under control and keeps my distorted channels from squealing like a pig. Nothing looks more unprofessional at a show than unintentional feedback, and my Smart Gate pedal keeps me safe time and time again!

  • http://www.myspace.com/soundorigin Ben E.

I own the MXR-Bass Octave (the older one) and the MXR-Phase 90. I REALLY love my bass octave-its so easy to adjust and it sounds AMAZING!! I use chorus in my worship band but my chorus pedal (yup….its a BOSS) just sounds way too digital. The Carbon Copy would probobly sound great with my basses. Please Hook me Up!!

  • http://www.myspace.com/zhang01 Bill

The Micro Amp. Step on the pedal and boom – yer LOUD. Sometimes that’s all it takes ;0

  • http://lonephantom.wordpress.com Stephen Smith

My favourite, and most indispensible Dunlop product is probably the simplest – The Jazz III picks. Black or ultex they form such a huge part of my playing. Other than that, the EVH Phase 90 is a very tasty pedal.

  • matt iacobucci

the crybaby wah wah and the ultex sharp picks

the picks because theyve got ultimate response and are great for alternate picked runs and help bring the metal when im pedalling like hell

the wah wah because ever since ive stepped foot on that thing, i knew i had found a tonal crayon that was gonna stick with my playing forever, hahahah thanks to kirk hammet of course

  • http://www.wannaplay.it/ Daniel

My Dimebag wah is the most abrasive and asskickin’ piece of electronic hardware for guitar I ever used. Did I mention the sturdy feeling you get when you plug any MXR (most of all the phase90) and the extreme desire to crack up the gain and let them scream? thx MXR!

  • Ismael

I’d go with the Fullbore metal….it will be my next pedal for sure.

  • Bill Hannon

I’d definitely say either the delays or equalizers. MXR products are some of the highest quality on the market from picks to pedals.

  • Hamish

I love my Dunlop Zakk Wylde wah pedal. It’s just so solidly put together and can withstand any punishment that gets meted out. It’s got a great long sweep on it and sounds great with my setup.

  • David

The Dunlop Ultex Sharp picks. They’ve definitely improved the speed and clarity of my playing.

  • Richard

I just adore my Dunlop Crybaby 535q; it’s the most versitle wah I’ve used. I can get some crazy clean funk tones with this, and then switch to a crazy metal wah tone with a few turns of the knobs. It also helps that it’s in sexy chrome ;)

  • Pasko Runjic

I couldn’t live without my dunlop DC brick, because it’s making all of my pedals alive!!! And it has 7 outputs for 9volt and 3 for 18volts so it can power a lot of pedals!

  • http://www.standadthompson.com Aaron Winter

I’ve been a hardcore Dunlop user for years. Starting with my first of many Crybaby’s. I use yellow tortex picks. I always grab a fresh one before every song during a show. But I have to say my favorite Dunlop product is my MXR Microamp. For as simple as it is it can: turn your low gain amp into a metal monster, push that slightly over driven amp into a classic rock “Whole Lotta Love” hammer of the gods, add silky sustain to your guitar solo, Make a Tele sound like a Les Paul, Create some of the most beautiful bell like tones when using a Strat, Melt the faces off of the people in the front row, add gain, and add high end sparkle. Oh yeah it’s a clean boost too. It just makes everything sound better. It will never leave my pedal board.

  • Steve

Crybaby wahs. They add so much versatility to a pedalboard. plus they sound so cool.

  • Louie Pan

The Carbon Copy itself probably impressed me the most out of Dunlop’s entire catalogue. My guitar teacher brought it in one day and I knew it was the next pedal I needed to obtain.

Everything about it amazed me, and I would be the happiest guy on earth if I got one :D

  • Rob Uchniat

My favorite Dunlop product is the Smart Gate, nothing else I have tried even comes close to how effective, yet transparent it is. It even handles the tough noise, like two OD pedals being pushed by a compressor, by single coil pickups! And it doesn’t color the sound, or cut off abruptly like other gates!

  • Xen

The carbon copy is my favorite ironically it has a great feel to the repeated sounds with an organic decay.

  • http://www.cilikisprogressioproject.com Brendan McLaughlin

    Dunlop 3 mill stubby plectrums

  • http://www.guitarnoize.com Jon

Can I only pick 1 favourite?! Damn… Ok well my Dunlop CAE Wah is unbelievably good with the dual fasel circuits and built in line booster it is probably the most versatile Wah on the market. I love Ultex Sharp and Ultex Jazz picks too!!

  • http://v4.owen.net.nz Owen Vickers

If I had to pick just one, it would be Dunlop Gator Grip picks. Have been using them for over 10 years!

  • Martin

Mine, Crybaby 535Q. THE WAH, THE TONE. It can get any wah sound possible. awesome. you can jump on it and the crybaby scream and sings, sweet:

  • Miguel

ALL ARE THE BEST!!! WHY USE ANYTHING ELSE? I LOVE THE LIL STUBBIES, THE CRYBABY AND ZAKK WYLDE CUSTOM STRINGS!!! THE POLISH AND STRING CLEANER ARE NICE TOO. JIM DUNLOP IS THE BEST BRAND OF GUITAR ACCESSORIES

  • Rich

My favorite has to be the 212 glass slide. Fits my finger perfectly and has a nice thick, solid feel. Great feel and great tone. Hard to beat that.

  • http://www.books-galore.com John Gilbert

    Crybaby wah!

  • Ian Peters

the strings, picks, straps i mean, just EVERYTHING Dunlop is everything the guitarist needs to truly bring the ultimate use out of their equipment. DUNLOP ALWAYS AND FOREVER

  • http://www.sugapablo.com Russ Schneider

Cry Baby – original. Because it’s one of the few kinetic pedals in this world. One where you can feel it, move with it, bend the wah as if you’re bending the string. It was the first pedal I bought, and it’s the last I’d give up.

  • http://www.reverbnation.com/whiteboyslim Whiteboy Slim

Crybaby wah and JazzIII picks. The wah because it is responsive and clean. The Pivks because they are precise.

  • francisco de loera

the boost/linedriver is my favorite it works well with any amp you put it…. now sendme that carboncopy, i know i will win! pd: the fullbore its great too….

  • http://facebook.com Joe Diamond

My favorite pedal is the Blue Box! It is unlike anything else that i own. The fuzz and two octaves down is a great combination!

  • Justin Bowman

My favorite Dunlop product is SW-95S Slash Signature Crybaby Wah. This is my favorite product because it adds that classic Crybaby tone and it allows me to create awesome leads with the built-in distortion circuit.

  • Johnny

I’d have to say Tortex picks, because they simply last FOREVER.

  • http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/keegun.hwang?ref=profile Joseph Hwang

My favorite is the carbon copy. It’s warm clean sound with a built in chorus
is flexible to combine with other efx.

  • Jason

The Uni-Vibe is my favorite Dunlop product, closely followed by the glow-in-the-dark picks! The Uni-Vibe is such a rich sound and of course if it’s good enough for Jimi Hendrix… And I dig anything that glows in the dark! Dunlop rocks!

  • http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/keegun.hwang?ref=profile Joseph Hwang

the Phase 90 is my favorite ‘coz the clean tone of it blends well other efx like ODs.
It’s a true bypass so it doesn’t alter the sound unless used.
Dunlop picks are my favorite, too. They are small and flexible, just the right type for funk and rock jam

  • http://harelmusic.com Harri Huovinen

Honestly, I love everything Dunlop (best slides, straps, capos… ever)! But if you have to pick one product, for me it’s the green Nylon .94mm pick. Very easy to play AND sounds fantastic in all settings, whether it’s acoustic or electric. I even use it for bass. Just bought tons of them..!

  • Jay

My love is the wah. I’ve got the 535Q Crybaby, and it’s perfect. I’m partial to pedals you can tweak to suit the song – just like the wah. Toss in the tortex picks… Keep it up Dunlop!

  • Nils Winkler

    Jazz III pick FTW!

  • Tim Com

Dunlop Tortex picks! They last forever and don’t slip out of my fingers like other picks.

  • http://Www.littlelondonmusic.com Darren Lined

Robert Trujillo bass strings, because they last and sound and feel great for ages.

  • Claudia Lucia Bautista Parra

My favorite pedal is the boost overdrive. It works great with any amp.

  • http://www.myspace.com/classifiedfrequency Matthew Berry

I’d have to say the 1.14mm tortex picks and .11 gauge strings…can use the same pack of picks for years even when gigging 3 hours a night and I haven’t broken string since I’ve switched to dunlop last year!!!!

  • http://myspace.com/stonedsunsetstudios Chris Hill

my favorite is the m108 10 band eq. having infinite control over your sound is the point of tone right? well this is the tool every guitarist needs!

  • http://www.myspace.com/therightreverenddestroyertherightreverend Brian

    I love dunlop products.

  • http://www.myspace.com/therightreverenddestroyertherightreverend Brian

And the M10 speed picks are the GREATEST!

  • Metalhead88

MXR Wylde Overdrive. It works F***ING Amazing !!!!!!!!

  • Jeffrey Baynes

I really like my DC-Brick. Keeps all my Dunlop Wah and everything else powered well. The brick also plays well with my pedalsnake.

  • Joe

My favorite Dunlop product? Tough call! My 535Q wah sounds amazing, but the Jazz III (Stiffo) picks are hard to beat. I’m going to try out the Ultex Jazz IIIs as well, since I’ve heard a lot of good stuff about them. Maybe those will become my new favorite. Although I could see myself really getting along with the Carbon Copy. Hmm, if only there were some way to get a hold of one… ;-)

  • k.desmond

I’d have to say its a toss up between my jazzIII pics or my vintage distortion +

  • Mike

I love lots of Dunlop stuff, but it’s gotta be the green .88 Tortex picks, ’cause I use them every single day and they last a long time!

  • k.desmond

    oops forgot to add why!
nobody else make pics even close to jazzIII’s and
my distortion plus is a workhorse that just won’t quit
even after over 23 year of rock!

  • Ed Dahl

Dynacomp – it is a classic!

  • http://www.creepingfur.org Benjamin Perrault

Favorite? Hmmm… I would say either my MXR Dimebag Wah which just sounds amazing and has just so much flexibility, or Dunlop Picks of all kinds (Nylon .60mm or Ultex .60mm for my Guitars and Stubby 2.0mm for my bass). That said, I mean I have yet to be happy with any dunlop product I own – Straps, DC-Bricks, Blue Box, Compression III, etc. They all just so good….

  • Rafael Freitas

Easily, the Slash Cry-Baby. Great over-drive function, really takes it up a notch during solos.

  • Lou Guberti

The MXR Blue Box is my favorite for the look of shock and horror it illicts when i click it on giving my Wah tone all the throaty growl and mojo the amp can handle

  • Chris Laskowski

My Distortion Plus is STILL rocking – bought in in 1983 – still use it today. Would never gig without it. Built tough (26 years and rocking) and still reliable. Way to go!!!

  • http://EChristinaHerr.com Martin Rowell

The DC Brick! No more worrying about effects dying in the middle of a gig. No more nickle and diming to buy new batteries.

  • http://www.paulmillsmusic.com paul mills

My favorite product would have to be my Dynacomp…I love it. Its been my secret weapon for years!

  • Roger Jones

Trigger Capo for banjo. Works best for me.

  • http://www.paulmillsmusic.com paul mills

my favorite would be my MXR Dynacomp….its been my secret weapon for years…I love it…

  • http://pipewrenchrocks.com Dean Deshler

My favorite Dunlop product is my Nylon Standard .88mm Picks because of there sharp edge that is left behind during the injection mold process..(I assume). I love the way they dig into the strings for pick slides and scraping sounds!

  • Bill Perry

Dunlop Straplocks You simply must have them. I have 10 guitars and every one has them. I’ve used them on everything, ever since my strap slipped off the strap button of my handmade custom Les Paul and snapped the neck off at the peg-head. That ain’t ever going happen again!

  • Ross C.

The Dunlop Jazztone 205 is my favorite product. It helps my playing be more articulate, enhances my picking dynamics, and makes my amp work when I abuse the strings. I couldn’t play a guitar the way I do without a Jazztone 205 in my hand.

  • http://www..myspace.com/karincomeskilling Scott / KARIN COMES KILLING

I have the upmost respect for my Dunlop Original Crybabay Wah. I have stomped, dropped, and bled on that pedal. And it is still singing! I love it. – Scott / KARIN COMES KILLING

  • tom moose

love my crybaby from hell. i broke the wah plate on my old original crybaby, but it’s been thru a lot, but the upgrade was soo worth it!

  • B. Thomas

I can’t go anywhere without a yellow tortex pick – I end up losing them far before they wear out.

  • Tyson Tolbert

My favorite is my MXR phase 90 script…it rocks!!

  • http://www.stlgtr.com bryan

i would have to save dynacomp and distortion+ are my personal favorites
they have both been with me everynight since 1970 something!

  • A Fernandes

TORTEX THE WEDGE picks! my favourite choice for both the acoustic and the electric playing. no other works so well for me and i already bought too many types and brands. these ones work really well for me. thank you Dunlop!

  • Nathan H.

The Dyna Comp all the way. Very smooth compression. It’s the secret sauce for beautiful clean tone!

  • John Hamnett

My favorite Dunlop product is the Crybaby. Great wah and very easy to modify and tweak in order to get a range of sounds.

  • Mike Miller

    Ultex picks.

  • Patrick

Im gonna say the MXR micro amp because it gives me a great boost for solos with little feed back and you cant beat the sound for the amount of money i spent on it.

  • http://pipewrenchrocks.com Dean Deshler

I also love my MXR Phase 90…Clean or Distorted it’s smooth like butter! Great tones!

  • Eric

Besides the tortex picks I would have to definitely say the Dunlop Wylde overdrive; enough said!

  • http://Myspace.com/highway27LI Gene McHugh

Easily the nylon Dunlop 88′s. Everything I do begins with those picks. No matter if it’s a screaming Les Paul cranked through an all out Marshall, or a softly strummed 12 string acoustic, Dunlop picks are where the rubber meets the road! Tone begins and ends in your hands, these picks bring the soul of your playing to life. When partnered with any Dunlop effects it can set your sound free.

  • Davis Yarbrough

The DC-Brick, of course. How else would I run the rest of my pedals?

  • John Bleichert

It’s a toss-up between my Tortex 88s and my Phase 90 – both are indispensible!

  • Mark Minoff

My favorites are my Jazz III picks (Red) and my Jim Dunlop Cry Baby…can’t live without either of them.

  • Roger S

My Dunlop Tremolo/Pan pedal. The stereo panning option is just great to send to two amps, whether jamming with a band or relaxing on the deck with a couple small amps. The spatial flutter soothes like butter!

  • http://stompthatbox.com/ Mark Hoffman

This is a no brainer the Dunlop Original Crybaby Wah. I’m on my 3rd one since I have warn them out over the years, that’s over 20 years of foot rocken motion. I love it because it has the tonal sound perfect not to much high end or mid!

  • Rich Newhook

    My DC Brick!!
Tough like a brick!!! Can power NYC!!!

  • Andrew Farrar

I’m a big fan of my tortex picks. Wouldn’t go anywhere without one in my pocket or wallet!

  • Vadim Chuyanov

I use a lot of Dunlop products (picks, pedals, slide, straps) but by far the one that I use often than anything else would be “Formula No. 65″! This is absolutely the best!

  • Bob Wokal

I love the complete range of the Carbon Copy. I am about to get the FullBore Metal so I might have to say hat after I play with it a bit!!!!

  • Jon Malugin

The Dunlop Strap Lock are the best thing that has ever been invented! Put on a set of Dunlop Strap Locks and you can do back flips, jump off the tallest stack, Surf through a crowd of thousands and your axe is still strapped to your back, Now what is any better than that?

  • Seth Okrend

Jazz I picks. The most important part of my sound comes from my hand and the jazz I helps me get the attack and tone I want.

  • Stephen Barta

My favorite MXR product… That’s a tough one my entire pedal board is 99% MXR and I love them all. If I had to choose I’d have to say the Wylde Overdrive can’t beat that crunch.

  • Bobby Diamond

If I had to pick just one Dunlop product, it would have to be my 535Q wah. It has been a staple in my pedal board since I bought it whether stage, studio or rehearsal: it just goes with any track/style/use. A close second is my .73 MM Dunlop nylon picks…’nuff said!

  • Kenny Carlile

The Univibe is definitely my favorite Dunlop product. It’s incredibly versatile, especially when you add the optional foot controller for rate control. It’s not quite a Leslie, but it’s a heck of a lot more portable and much cheaper! I love my Univibe!

  • Daryl Carter

I have used MXR pedals since the 70′s, and always liked the performance. Phase 90,Dyna-Comp and Crybaby being favorites…………..just great stuff!

  • http://somekindofmuffin.wordpress.com Brandon

Jazz III picks. I wouldn’t be able to play as well as I do without them. I know a lot of people use the primarily for fast runs, but I find they strum well too.

  • http://www.contusion.com Jaimie Muehlhausen

I love the Carbon Copy because of it’s real, vintage sounding delay. Not harsh, not artificial sounding, not like a tin can…just good, clean saturated delay. I’ve been wanting one for a year now but haven’t been able to afford it. PLEASE PICK ME!

  • Kyle Dapkus

My favorite is by far the Jimi Hendrix wah, you can’t get enough of that creamy smooth sound!

  • Patrick Kem

    Favorite Dunlop,
Was and is and will always be the Dunlop crybaby.
    A Q325 I THINK!

  • http://www.toomuchsaturn.com mark hoffmann

    that’s an easy question…

    The MXR Phase 90.
    Nobody does swirly like Dunlop!
    Nobody!

  • Erick Yablon

    Tortex PICKs!!!!

Your Tortex picks are the best in the industry hands down. They preform better and last longer!! Love them.

  • Mike Heinen

I would have to say your Tortex picks. They are the work horse of picks! I hardly have them break!

  • http://murgatroydrocks.tripod.com Doug Spencer

I love Dunlop products. In fact they make upi the bulk of the gear on my pedal board. I am currently using the EVH Flanger, EVH Phase 90, a Carbon Copy (absolute fave piece of gear) and an original Crybaby. I even use the pick holders on my mike stands. Needless to say, I gig at least twice a month and rehearse weekly. The goods always stand up to a regular and principled beating. In any case I am always ont he lookout for other goodies made by Dunop. The whole line from odds and ends to effects boxes have served me well over the years.

The Carbon Copy has become my favorite due to its versatility in what braod range of depth it adds to what I do musically. Its just simply the coolest echo type device I have used in forever.

  • http://myspace.com/CockeyedOptimistRock Sean

I love all my Dunlop products…it’s so hard to choose.
But the one that sticks out the most is my MXR EVH Phase 90. I got it the Christmas after they first came out. Ever since then, it has remained on whatever pedal board I throw together. It is a permanent part of my set up and it can never be replaced.
Two pedals (script logo and block logo) for the price of one.

  • Sarah FitzGerald

‘I use Dunlop nylon .73s every day of my life, plus ultex .60s for a change of pace. But my favorite Dunlop product (that I miss!) was my tremolo/volume pedal… :( Oh how I miss it!

  • http://www.theparsniprevolt.com/ Jake Williams

Dunlop Super CryBaby! Great wah tones AND a volume pedal all in one! Have been using it for years & it’s never let me down, at home or on stage! Thanks!

  • Clyde

My favorite Dunlop product is honestly the Carbon Copy Delay pedal. I own an expensive digital delay by a BIG NAME (rhymes with moss) pedal company that I’ve been using for years, and have never realized what I was missing until I first heard the Carbon Copy! I saw a guitarist with one live a few months ago and I instantly knew I NEEDED one!

And of course, I always use Dunlop Tortex pics!!

  • http://www.myspace.com/mikelblue Mike Blue

My dc brick is essential equipment. I can’t play without it. It has never failed me in all the years I’ve owned it. That’s more than i can say for a lot of gear.

  • Daniel Sekerak

I love my MXR 76 Dynacomp reissue for the simple reason that it is the best compressor I’ve ever used – it’s always on! Sounds good distorted or clean.

  • http://www.myspace.com/sumitdas Sumit Das

My favorite Dunlop product is probably the Blowtorch, because it is versatile and it sounds like its name!

  • Henry D’Angelo

My favorite Dunlop product is the MXR Bass Blowtorch. This beast gives me the power to put great, unique sounds on my bass that wow people every time I use it. I can have some fuzz, distortion, or even a saw wave sound on my bass. At least three people have borrowed it from me because of the sound it puts out. It was money well spent.

  • Gabriel Abilio

My favorite is the CryBaby Multi-Wah 535Q… it has lots of possibilities, a wide range of tones, from classic to crazy ones… and I love the sounds it produce. Well, Satriani and Petrucci uses this one on clinics and some recordings. Need more?

  • William Harris

It would have to be my Dunlop CryBaby (which has Thomas Organ guts). Killer vintage sound (because it is)!

  • Dave McInnes

    LOVE my 10 band EQ!

  • Bill Ware

The Herco Dunlop flat thumbpick is the perfect fit and keeps the pick where it should be. I haven’t found another like it.

  • Michael

Cry Baby Wah Wah is my favorite, from a classic phase shifter to a distortion pedal, its completely universal. There are so many pro models which have been influenced by the original but its the original that stands the test of time. A must have for any guitarist no matter the genre of music or style. If it good enough for Jimi and Slash then its got to be good!

  • Lucas LeCompte

It has to be the Ultex Jazz III picks. They feel great, play great, and give you an awesome tone.

  • Craig Jahns

My fave dunlop product is my phase 90. I have the EVH model, but plan on getting a ’74 reissue next for my 2nd pedalboard. It’s the coolest phaser ever. I fell in love with it’s sound because of Dave Murray from Iron Maiden- not Eddie. Dave used it on almost every solo on every Maiden album from their 1st up thru Live after Death. Listen to his solo in the song Powerslave- it cries with that killer phase tone! It should be his signature model! Tortex .73 picks rule also!

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/OndskapensHersker Fabian Jiru

    WYLDE WAH:D

  • Dennis Sherman

My favorite is actually the Carbon Copy! It’s very warm & versatile. Right now I’m running it in front of another ‘big name’ delay using its awesome slapback. I would love to run the slapback into a 2nd Carbon Copy for even more warmth (read non-digital) final delay.

  • http://myspace.com/ericsquires Eric Squires

I love the reissue of the Phase 90 Script logo. Just the right amount of phase at any speed. It’s beautiful and lush. None of the mid hump you often get with other phasers and none of the thin watery crap the competition tries to sell. Hands down the best phaser out there.

  • Alan Thompson

My favorite Dunlop product is the MXR MicroAmp. I have used one for years as a buffer amp to drive my pedal chain, and also to even out the volume difference when I change from a low-output single coil guitar to a higher-output humbucker guitar onstage. I keep the MicroAmp volume on unity gain for the higher output guitar, then when I change to the lower-output guitar I move the knob up to a predetermined setting that keeps the volumes equal. It also works as a buffer to keep my signal clean through my pedal chain. Great Product.

  • Sam Hill

I love my MXR Distortion III. It does everything from a light overdrive/cleanish boost to distortion, it sounds really good, its small, and it didn’t cost a zillion dollars. Practical and musical.

  • http://www.artbreak.com/jetiii JET III

Jimi Hendrix JH1 Wah is my favorite Dunlop product

  • Dave Novak

I’d have to say my MXR Wylde Overdrive would be my favorite Dunlop product. The killer crunch tones are great and using it to boost other distortion pedals gives my sound a swift kick in the ass.

  • Jerry Barber

Well im new to the Guitar and pedals and sort I have a MXR distortion pedal that sound real good and also blues pedal I must say they work together for me.

  • Gary Vondran

I just can’t live without the crybaby wah. Also love the Phase 90.

  • Josh

Jazz III Picks. Light, fast, and aerodynamic. They also bring out the twang in my strat. But the MXR Distortion III is a close second.

  • Dave Oliphant

One of the simplest, but never far from my guitars is the Dunlop CAPO—-so easy to use and so reliable.

  • Jamie

I love the way your Kerry King strings sound. Great metal tone.
    ROCK ON!

  • http://none Del Szatmary

My favorite…the MXR Phase 90. There’s no way I could achieve those 60′s psychedelic sounds without it.

  • http://none Del Szatmary

the MXR Phase 90. There’s no way I could achieve those 60′s Psychedelic sounds without it.

  • Anthony

This was pretty rough, but at the end of the day, it has to be straplok’s. I dropped a guitar years ago because the strap came off and was beside myself. I’ve bought and installed these on every guitar I’ve owned since. Thanks.

    Anthony

  • David

The ’76 DynaComp Reissue is my favorite Dunlop product because it is THE compressor sound I was looking for.

  • Daniel Salcido

That’s a hard one! I would have to pick my M-117 Flanger. There is simply NO other Flanger like it in the world. No other flanger that matches it warmth and sweep, or is able to attain the multitude of sounds you can get from this thing. It IS the most versatile pedal on my board!

  • Regis

The slash wah is the schizzle! Its got such a great tone I had to have it on the spot!!!

  • http://minkomatic.com Chet Mink

I’ve been using Ultex Jazz III picks. I didn’t really think a change from Tortex Jazz picks to the Ultex Jazz IIIs would be significant but they really have a great feel and they’re easy to hold on to. I have both in my pocket but I always use the Ultex. And they have a nice clinky sound when mixed with a handful of change.

  • http://www.chaindriverocks.com Jeff Lawson

I really dig the Carbon Copy. I borrowed a friends and did’nt want to give it back. I really like how it “doubled” the guitar sound when you set it on fast. It makes my amp sound really huge without affecting the overall tone. Great pedal.

  • Justin King

I have to pick one? I love all my dunlop products, i’d probably have to say the dunlop wah-wah’s, i’ve played many wah pedals and nothing compares to that warm, crisp tone I get from dunlop wah pedals.

  • Jeff

I love the picks, strings, and slides I have – but it’s the Crybaby, baby! Whether as a wah or a tone filter a la Michael Schenker, it provides the tone.

  • greg brunette

The CryBaby is my fav from Dunlop, ’cause it’s the original and still the best tone bender out there.

  • Ray Jimenez

My favorite DUNLOP product is the Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face pedal because it lets me get close to a faithful reproduction of the Jimi fuzz and vodoo sound he was so well known for.I also love the cool color of the pedal that is a super match for my vintage nitro turquoise Telecaster and daphne blue Strat.

  • Matt S

Simple but necessary. Tortex picks are all I use

  • Michael

My Jimi Hendrix wah is a favorite as it is not shrill and covers the low end of the tone spectrum as well.

  • Scott

The MXR CAE MC404 wah. I love the dual inductor and boost function. Easiest on/off and smoothest sweep of any wah I have owned. It also sounds great.

  • Ed Fusco

My favorite dunlop product is effect pedal endorsed by my icons, such as Eddie Van Halen and Kirk Hammett!

  • Bob Summers

I just got the Buddy Guy Wah. Everything about this thing is cool. Its worth a little more to get what you really want.

  • http://www.myspace.com/inkedindecision Tyler Leighton

My favorite is the Tortex sharp picks. They give a little more harmonics for pinches. Badass picks

  • http://www.myspace.com/she_devil_121 Reina Lewis

I really dig my 95Q Crybaby. I love the boost switch, and that I’m able to edit my wah. I also use an MXR Distortion +, Dunlop maintenance kit, (which I absolutely love!), and I only use the Dunlop .73mm tortex picks, cause they are the best! I’d chose MXR pedals over Boss any day!

  • Azeem Virani

My favorite products are the Dunlop Tortex 1.0mm picks and the Crybaby Classic Wah. The Crybaby Wah adds a whole new dimension to my clean playing and inspires me to create musical passages that I would otherwise never think of. The Dunlop Tortex picks are the secret to my tone! I have spent hundreds of dollars trying to find that x-factor in my grail tone and these affordable picks gave me the grind and texture I needed to put the finishing touches on the tone that was always hidden in the back of my head!

  • http://www.farrodesigns.com George Farro

My favorite pedal is your M109 6 band Equalizer. Such a small pedal but yet it alters my tone with the slightest adjustments. It gives me that crystal clear brightness I need whenever I strum a chord. Dynamite! Thanks for the great line of products.

  • Frank S.

The CryBaby without a doubt. Besides its obvious use in soloing, it’s a nice tone tweak to my regular settings particularly when playing in an unfamiliar room.

  • Maximiliano Padron

I use the 95Q crybaby and it rips, it makes me fell like kirk hammett.. it´s by far the best wha pedal out there.. i also use the dunlop guitar straps, they fell nice and holds up very well and has great graphics, one of the best strap brands it´s dunlop, and picks.. there´s nothing more to say about dunlop.. history makers man!… thank you dunlop!..

  • Gary Williams

My favorite pedal is the Carbon Copy. I had one for several months and it was incredibly natural sounding and noise-free. I had to sell mine for some extra cash, and I miss it!!!

  • http://www.joeljames.com Joel James

My favorite Dunlop item is my cherished Stainless Steel Pick that I use to record with. I have been using these picks since I cought one trown from the stage by Ratt guitarist, Warren DiMartini. I cannot find these anymore so I am holding on the the few that I have. My second favorite item that I also use everyday is my CryBaby from Hell~!!! It is a feature packed Wah Pedal that you can custom tune it to whatever your wah needs may be~!!!

  • http://www.myspace.com/theburningstate jay

It’s between M159 Tremolo or the 95Q Wah are my favorites. I going to say the Tremolo – doesn’t get much better than that!

  • george johnson

the fassel wah is what i use at this time ……….great pedal..will stand up to any other maker out the …………stand way up and over …imo .gj

  • Mike Ralph

My fav is the CSP-026 Handwired Vintage Phase 90. So many other effect try to attain the perfection that was the original script Phase 90. Why not just get the original.

  • http://www.myspace.com/gibbothelegendoffunkrock Alex Gibbons

My favourite pedal is the Dimebag darrell wah, not because it is a ‘piece of dime’ or any such notion, but because it gives the user an unpresidented level of freedom that the conventional wah pedal doesn’t give.

the variety of tones and textures that it can produce is almost mind-boggling, and I think it can really help someone shape their own tone, so as they don’t have to stick to the ‘traditional’ sound, Industry standards are not necessarily the rules of what you should go by. The pedal is a superb example of how to break the mould and really match the tone of your instrument, to your amplifier and potentially other pedals in a rig.

Also, the dunlop strings… I like the worn-in feel they give, whilst still retaining that wonderful ‘new string brightness’ that I so greatly adore.

  • Wade

I love my distortion +! It’s so basic, yet so clean. Just what I need to get a little more kick out of my guitar.

  • http://www.oneandonl;y.com.au westley tully

My fasel chipped wah pedal without a doubt. This pedal allows me to shape my sound like no other. My day job is a sculptor.
    Westley.

  • Bob Bayer

I am a die hard fan of the Gator Grip Picks. I have always used Dunlop picks but none have impressed me more than the Gators. Firm solid grip even when sweaty! I also LOVE my Original Cry Baby Wah GCB-95. The range of tone is much greater than any other Wah I’ve tried. Nothing beats the classic Cry Baby sound!!! Of the two I have to go with the Gator Grip picks as my all time favorite Dunlop product.

  • Mike

I love my original late 70′s MXR Flanger. The pedal I have the most fun with is the Blue Box. It’s just something completely different that you don’t see on a typical pedal board. Get one… today!!!

  • BMart

While some will say the Jazz IIIs and I would completely agree with them, the one product that has literally saved my life is the Straplok. A pair of those guys has saved my guitar from imminent tile floor doom. I dropped my first guitar and nearly destroyed the armrest area. Got a pair of Straploks and have never had a problem since. All three of my guitars have them equipped! Life saver!

  • Stewart Coleman

The CryBaby. The most expressive tool in the kit.

  • Joe Lorigo

The Cry Baby. It is so useful with many and styles of music and cool to experiment with

  • Devin

My crybaby. Never leave home without it!

  • Eddie DePaola

MXR Distortion+. I have been using this pedal since the early 80s & when my original went up, I simply replaced it with a Dunlop version. Classic sound for me!

  • Tim Laine

Definately picks. They feel and sound right.

  • Craig McBrine

My favorite has to be the MXR Phase 90. amazing phase!
I also love the Ultex picks, those things are incredible!!

  • Mike

My fav is the Distortion +: a classic!

  • Mark

The green Tortex picks are the only ones that I have used since they were first introduced.

  • http://www.myspace.com/josephewoodard Joe Hammer

Of all my Dunlop products,(well over 55 of them!) I would have to say my favorite is my MXR MC402 Overdrive/Boost.

  • chris mckee

My favorite dunlop product is the tortex picks. They come in various thicknesses and can be used for any style occasion and string instrument.

  • http://www.myspace.com/smallwhite justin

    Blue Box!!!!!!

  • Myron Lauzon

Dunlop picks are the BEST ! I love the blue Tortex 1.0 mm with the sharp tooth…the best Metal pick EVER !

  • http://www.myspace.com/sizetheband Rob Bell

How do I pick just one!? I’d have to say my Phase 90. I use it on both guitar and bass. For my guitar it’s that classic Phase that makes any clean sound swirl. For my bass it adds some more texture and depth to the sound that helps when the guitar is playing a lead. Keep ‘em comin Jim!

  • Cody Frederick

My favorite would have to be the 10-Band EQ. You can personalize your tone to a ‘T’ with this pedal. I use it on everything I play and I like the presets they give you. You can experiment for hours using this thing.

  • Keith Schwartz

The picks – I love ultex and the ones with the cool graphics (tiki, skull, etc.)

  • http://www.thetimandbobshow.com Steve Feinstein

Favorite product – easy. We are an acoustic band. We both use the MXR M-133 as our gain pedal for flatpicking and solos. This pedal is simple to use and works flawlessly every time. Not exciting, but on stage working everytime is not beatable.

  • Dylan Johnson

My fav dunlop pedal is the Slash crybaby wah because its pretty freakin redonculous. I love how theres a distortion on and off switch- thats deff a sweet feature. it also has the volume and gain knobs. crybabys are the best!

  • Julio Gomes

The best is the GT-OD. Vintage fat tone for my strat, and creates smooth, warm, and classic overdrive without noise. And the important thing that we can see
in MXR pedals is the Indestructible die-cast housing, with true by pass system.
    MXR FOREVER.

  • Dean Mancuso

Jim Dunlop USA Nylon .88mm picks. They last a looong time, sound great, and are comfortable to hold.

  • http://n/a Derek

I would never leave my house to a gig without my Dunlop Crybaby or my MXR products. They’re the only products on my pedal board =]

  • Michael Bergevin

ALL dunlop products are great, but my favorite is my 215 glass slide.

  • Tim Reade

The Cry Baby sounds great – and its name reminds me of a John Waters movie!

  • Dave

The carbon copy pedal might be my favorite dunlop product I will find out if I win one.

  • Chris

My two favorite pedals are the Phase 90 and the MC-401 Boost pedal. My tone wouldn’t be anything without them. I use the MXR Flanger, as well as the Chorus. I also use Tortex Picks. I simply don’t use any other brand for my accessories and effects.

  • Matthew Hauger

My favorite Dunlop product is my MXR Distortion III. It always gives just enough and never too much – keeps my tone in the sweet spot all the time! My Dyna Comp has to be a very close 2nd. It’s almost always switched on when I’m playing.

  • http://www.myspace.com/bluematterohio Buddy Collura

I love my Buddy Guy Signature Wah! Two settings to cover different styles and sounds. The guys in my band love the sound too.

  • simon

definitely the Crybaby! its just so versatile, it can do literally anything–sometimes if you’re using a single coil, you can hear the white noise shifting as you’re rocking the pedal, and its such a cool, almost vocal effect.. but mostly i just wail Clapton style!

  • Fernando

I just love my MXR Distortion III pedal. It’s tone is awesome and even with the gain way up I still can (really) listen to my guitar. I also started using these ultex picks. They are amazing.

  • Buddy Masters

I love my Zakk Wylde Wah. It’s like having one the complete tone sweep of your adjustable wah’s. I don’t use any other wah now.

  • Gin Yuen

Dunlop Strap Locks, why? Because it’s an essential part of every musicians gear, I have them on my jazz bass and it has prevented numerous times from where my jazz bass should have taken a nasty fall on the ground, but thanks to the Dunlop Strap Locks I no longer have to worry about it! Very well made strap locks and easy to install as well. I also dig the Dunlop .73mm Tortex picks as well, They have the best feeling and flexibility for what I what I do.

  • http://www.rosepickups.com Kenneth Currie

It has to be the Cry Baby Classic. I need it in my chain. It is so expressive. Using it for anything from reggae like swells to soloing, I find it very necessary.

  • http://www.myspace.com/matthewfox Matthew Fox

I own and use a few Dunlop products but my fav is a simple thing: I’ve never found a pick I like better than the Gator Grip .96mm. Just the right size and they feel great.

  • Mike

The Phase 90 is not only my favorite Dunlop pedal, but probably my favorite of all my pedals. I got it about a month after I got my first electric guitar and it hasn’t left my board since. Its just the perfect phase sound.

  • Pete Wyndham

My dunlop 60mm nylon and ultex picks of course! Nothing beats a 60mm nylon for electric guitar shredding and the ultex 60 is the bomb for my acoustic ramblings. I’ve been buying and using the nylon 60mm religiously for the past 20 years! I’m also a huge fan of my awesome 535Q Cry Baby Dunlop pedal.

  • Andy Eirich

My favorite Dunlop products are the MXR pedals and the Ultex jazz 3 picks. I have a massive army of pedals in general, but the Dunlop pedals have the most consistant tone and are built to last, I’ve been using dunlop Jazz 3 picks for 15 years, and when a local store brought in the ultex picks I was curious and sold in that moment.

  • Craig A Glaviana

I’d have to say my Dunlop DCR-1SR wah is my favorite. I can set it up different ways to get most any wah sound I desire.

    Thanks
    Craig A Glaviana

  • http://www.daddy-o.us Robert E. Chandler

My favorite pedal is the MXR Carbon Copy. I have been searching for 30 years for that perfect slapback sound like my old tape machine. But, reliable and affordable! Now that I have found her, I’ll never let her go.

  • Andrew Pak

I love the MXR Stereo Chorus. Arguably the best chorus under $250. Super versatile and doesn’t add noise. Looks damn cool with the yellow paint.

  • Adam Klassen

I love the GT Overdrive pedal. it is one of the most musical overdrive pedals on the market. especially for the buck! it is a pedal i will never take out of my pedal board. it is bullet proof and looks wicked awesome!

  • http://www.myspace.com/woetoyou Raymond Christie

I love my black jazz III picks. I have been using them since 1991 and will not use any others. I am also a big fan of my phase 90. I always wanted one and I finally bought one about a year ago. I will never part with it. Thanks Dunlop.

  • Eric

By far my favoirite Dunlop product has to be their 1 mil (black) nylon picks. I really like the feel and sound (they give me a nice round and fat sound). I also like that the grip texture gives my a good U2 sound when I turn the pick around.
Dunlop 1 mil nylon are definatly my main picks :)

  • John Bertotti

Actually I love my carbon copy, so much so I couldn’t pass up a chance for another. What more could I want then two CC’c on my pedal board set to different rate’s and depths but of course with the mod button on because of the 3D quality it gives the tone. INCREDIBLE!

Reall is a shame I play like crap but man I have fun!

  • Ron Mathews

My pedal of choice for almost every song and show is DEFINITELY my Crybaby. I have an original one from the 70′s with the original fasel inductor. This pedal has that vintage wah sound that you just can’t get from modern pedals and has never let me down. Kudos Jim Dunlop!!!!

  • Branden C

I must say the Jazz III are the way to go for picks but I am cheap, so the next step is the Dunlop tortex .88 picks. However those aren’t my favorite Dunlop products on the market; the Way Huge Swollen Pickle is where it is at man. There is no other fuzz like it, and probably the only fuzz pedal i actually like. The price is a bummer, but it’s a fuckin hummer!

  • Metal MIke

The bass Wah. I love it the most out of all my effects. And my picks.

  • Eric

I’d have to say the Octavio pedal from the authentic Hendrix line. It’s such a unique sound and it’s just plain nasty!

  • C Slep

The 535Q Wah. The range selector on that thing makes all the difference in the world.

  • http://www.myspace.com/lawrenceriley Lawrence riley

Zakk Wyde OD, VH phaser, and my tuner are the only pedals on my board. On my clean channel the ZW OD, adds some nice top end with a little grind, and on my Burn channel… just kicks it up to “11″. Great stuff, and Bullet Proof!

  • http://www.facebook.com/TheFusionFanatic Michael Wright

Wow…These Carbon Copys sound like great pedals…I’d Love the chance to be entered into the contest to actually Win one!
    Y’know…I have 3 or 4 MXR pedals from the ’80s…I’m not sure if that’s pre-Dunlop or not, but I love ‘em all…I have a good old Distortion+, a Phase 90 and a Phase 100, and I have 3 Dunlop Cry-Babys…a 70s, an 80s and a 90s.
My favorite pedal of all time has to be the 70s Cry-Baby. I got it for like $19.95 way back then!
It’s been through a friggin’ basement Flood, and stopped working. For the helluvit, I hard-wired a 9V. AC Adapter into it, and it worked just fine…and STILL DOES! It’s a bit noisier now, but it’s noisier ‘tonally.’ I mean, there’s a little more of a dirtier tone to the Wah now…Just another thing that I Love about it!
Now…I don’t recommend trying this @ home…like giving yours a soak in the tub or something…I can’t guarantee it’ll work afterward. I think I just got real lucky with this one.
I got it from Rich at the old, long gone Modern Music…It was on North Ave, near Central in Chicago, IL…way back.
    Great pedal!!!
    Thanks Jim!
    Peace…
    MJ Wright

  • D. Dobson

I love my Dyna Comp. Why? Just ’cause it works so well!

  • Nikos Kalantzis

I like alot my Zakk Wylde Wah. It has a unique sound and a sturdy metallic construction.

  • Brad Peddle

My fav Dunlop product is the ’74 vintage Phase 90 from the custom shop . That pedal is just unfriggin’- real! plug it in and with a simple click of a switch and a turn of a knob you can dial in classic phase sounds from the EVH phaser sound to awesome funk sounds to out of this world sounds. it’s the one of best pedal I have bought! along with ’76 Dyna Comp (another wicked pedal!) I hope the custom shop keeps releasing more hand wired vintage MXR pedals in the future! I would love to see from custom shop: hand wired 70′s MXR flanger , hand wired 70′s MXR Distortion +, hand wired 70′s MXR Stereo Chorus, or even a hand wired 70′s MXR delay pedal ( the big ol’ green pedal!)!. I’d buy them all….. I’d would be broke afterwards, but I’d be the happiest moneyless guy on the planet cause I’d have my custom shop hand wired MXR pedals from Jim Dunlop.
    keep up the good work!!!!

  • Jamie A. Kyllo

The Dyna Comp is my absolute favorite. I first used it when I was recording local radio jingles. It gave my bass a smooth sustain.

  • mike bessette

I like my MXR flanger, phaser and carbon copy equally. O.K. I’ll win another carbon copy so I can trade it for the tremelo.

  • Steve

My favorite Dunlop items are my MXR EVH Flanger……..it’s hands down the best flanger I have ever used and my red Jazz III picks……they are awesome!

  • Rodger d.

My favorite Dunlop product has to the CryBaby! Why? If you have to ask, maybe you should pick one up!

It is one of the most versatile pedals on my board. It can make even the plainest little fill or solo sound so much more expressive.

  • Tony D

    Crybaby wah. It’s the best!

  • http://JazzGuitarHymns.com Jerry Zellers

Right now I would have to say my favorite dumlap product is the Jazz III pick as I just rediscovered it and it is really great for my style of playing.

  • Frank Harlan

Gotta be the Bass Auto Q….. nothing better for instant funkification. My pedal board could sure use a carbon copy!!!

  • wendel asturias

my favorite dunlop products will have to be the dunlop tortex .88 i found about these because chuck also uses them i have these for about 2 years already and i love not too flimsy and and too thick these are the best picks i ever used so flexible from soloing and play death songs i love these picks and the kirk hammet wah isn’t bad either i had for a week but im ground so i only used it once

  • Ricardo Loya

I have an original 70′s era MXR script phase 90 that was my brothers ,which he gave to me, and for the 30+ years we have owned it, it has never let us down!! It still sounds great and is part of my set-up along with an MXR classic distortion, and a couple of other pedals too!!! Adding the MXR carbon copy to my collection would be fantastic!!! I would say that the Phase 90 is my number 1 pedal and would never let it go!!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!!

  • Matthew Abney

My fave Dunlop product? I’m divided between three different pedals.
My pedalboard will never be without the late 70s early-block-logo MXR Phase 90 (no LED!) that I bought back in the 90s; that thing can make a simple rhythm or an average solo really “pop”. I’ve tried all of the different Phase 90s (original script logo, reissue script logo, old block logo, new block logo, even the Vari-Phase); all of them are great and have their own personalities…I LOVE the PHASE 90!
I also love another pedal that has been discontinued for quite a while–the Dunlop JH2S Jimi Hendrix System Classic Fuzz–the old fire-engine-red-Phase 90-sized fuzz that stays articulate even when you play a chord. It’s a true vintage-sounding fuzz, which is sometimes hard to find.
Life is not complete without a Crybaby. I customized mine by carving my intials and some random doodling into the foot pad (since Dunlop hasn’t seen fit to give me my own signature model–LOL); I also tweaked the position of the potentiometer to give it it’s own tonal vibe.

  • http://www.agileguitarforum.com/portal.php Victor Barrera

My favorite pedal by MXR is the M-108 10 band EQ, there are a lot of different tones you can get out of this eq pedal, it makes any amp sound 100X better. It is really versatile, every guitar player should own one.

  • http://www.myspace.com/moogparadise Jareth Lackey

I have to say that the MXR Phase 100 is my fovorite product. It has got such a nice rich phase going on that I have never got out of any other phaser. I play synthesizer keyboards and use my MXR phase 100 on just about every song I record.

  • http://www.myspace.com/trazotrazo Hector Campos

i have the mxr distortion plus, sound great!!

  • http://myspace.com/theskulliesband Chris Skullie

My MXR M-80 D.I. is my favorite Dunlop product! I can go to any studio, any club, use any amp or go straight into the board. I just plug my P Bass in to the M-80 and get “my sound”. All the growl I need. What could be better than that?

  • Travis Hasko-Young

My favorite Dunlop product is probably the MXR Micro Amp. High input impedence makes for a killer tool in the studio or on a live stage as a buffer/line driver. It can also work fantastically as a boost in front of anything. Very practical pedal.
Dyna Comp is a close second for me as well.

  • Joey Garcia

I love the MXR sound gate, keeps my distortion in keep while not killing my tone

  • Mike Robilotti

My favorite Dunlop pedal would have to be my ’74 reissue script Phase 90. Besides being the “classic” phaser sound, It’s got such a nice subtle phase – the effect doesn’t overpower the guitar.

  • Jerry

Of course that I love MXR pedals and the ZW cry baby but lets face it there’s nothing better than the Dunlop DC brick… that small black brick does magic in my pedalboard

  • Jack Jez

Well I’ve used MXR pedals for many years but my favorite is the new Dyna Comp I recently bought. It has replaced the older pedal on my board and is every bit as good as the higher priced “boutique” pedals

  • John Walker

I like the MXR Distortion+ as my favorite effects box by Dunlap. The reason is simple. This pedal exhibits all the tone and power of 1970s and 1980s Rock music and can be found on many of the classic rock songs from that period. Its’ simple to use features makes it a pleasure to set up and gives any tube amplifier the extra “kick” it needs to blaze through rythm and lead guitar sections. This is truly a legendary effects box and cannot be overlooked in a musicians gear collection.

  • J Balmer

Having to choose between my Dunlop Cry Baby, MXR Phase 90 & Chorus, Ultex picks & Dunlop slide isn’t easy. While I use the Ultex picks exclusinvely, I’d have to say that the Crybaby is the one pedal I use for every style of music I play.

  • saul velazquez

My favorite would definitely be the Zakk Wylde overdrive. The amount of gain and responsiveness to harmonics is just amazing. And that added sustain really makes solos sing. I swear that this pedal extended my relationship with the amp I had because it breathed a new life into it that was missing with all other overdrive pedals I owned. Awesome!!

  • Mike R.

Tough call on my favorite Dunlop product, but I’d have to say the Distortion + One of the essential pieces of gear in my arsenal. From mild overdrive to hot Randy Rhoads style distortion, this pedal covers the bases. Easy to use, great tone and very reliable. Everything a great overdrive should be.

  • Marcelo Gonzalez

i have my favorite wha is the cry baby 535, it is really versatile.

  • http://Www.RosemaryDevice.com Brandon Migliorisi

One of the most important products of all time (for a musician with an amp) has got to be the MXR Super Gate! I play a fender strat through a Mesa boogie rect-o-verb. It’s a vintage hand made boogie amp, so it’s sound and tone are sweet and very hot. This also causes single coil pickups to hum hum hum. But with the MXR SUPERGATE you can’t even tell that the amp is on until you strum a rip roaring strum!
    Thnx MXR

  • Greg Harding

The Rotovibe. At my gigs in KC, there’s always someone who comes up at break to see how I’m getting that sound. And since there’s more than one sound, they are always surprised one pedal is getting it done.

  • http://www.myspace.com/hosmanek Ron Wesley

My favorite Dunlop product is the Authentic Hendrix Octavio. Every time I stomp on that thing people freak right out!

  • Michael Cole

Wow! So much to chose from but if I had to limit myself to just one pedal it would have to be the Dunlop Cry Baby wah pedal. There just isn’t another single pedal out there that lets you express yourself in so many different ways.

  • Erik Nordlund

My favorite Dunlop product is the Slash wah pedal. Not only does it stand out in looks, but it also has a very classic tone, and a thick distortion as well. The Slash wah never leaves my board, and can always get me the sound I want.

  • Dillon Tannehill

My favorite Dunlop product is my Zakk Wylde signiture Cry Baby Wah pedal! That foot pedal is my favorite pedal that I own!

  • Ali

My favourite is the univibe. I use it with the foot control. Why? Because of it’s unique sound and place in music history.

  • Nick Fantinato

My favorite Dunlop product….the Herco Flex 75 pick. Once I discovered these picks I can’t play with any other kind, they all just feel weird. Plus, I play with the round edge of the pick, not the point, so the rough grip texture not only makes it easier to hold on to, but gives me a different attack and tone. I love them and couldn’t live without them. I’ve pretty much turned all of my friends on to these picks since I started using them.

  • http://Zepidemic.com Gary Denslow

It’s the Univibe for me too. I use it in place of many other effects and it gets the job done.

  • Stephen Heil

My favorite is the Dunlop/Heil Talk Box because it such a unique sound and shares my last name.:-)

  • Mark Farning

My Crybaby wah that I bought in 1993 is my favorite. It’s been through alot and always works when I need it…and it still sounds great. Of course I always have and will continue to use green Tortex .88 picks.

  • Scotty Davis

I have two favorites the Cry Baby Wah and the Dyna Comp compressor. I love them both!

  • David Kasminsky

    The Dunlop Uni-Vibe !

  • http://www.themonas.com Felipe

The Carbon Copy is the best delay I’ve ever had and I would love to have two. One for short slapback echo and one long for solos.

  • http://www.myspace.com/idpr Orlando Lopez de Victoria

My favorite Dunlop product is the DC Brick. Why? Let’s just say that without it no sound would come out of my speakers. :-)

  • Bill Christman

MY EL GRANDE Bass Fuzz is KILLER! My band does a lot of 60′s&70′s Classic Rock and the El Grande bass fuzz gives me that fat classic fuzz from that era that other Bass fuzz effects don’t deliver! My old 68′ Jazz Bass & EL GRANDE Bass Fuzz are perfect together!!!

  • Doug Teal

Dunlop Jazz Ultra III Tortex Sharps are my favorite product.
The best picks I have ever used and I have tried them all.

  • Jake

My favorite MXR product is the custom shop Phase 90 script reissue. It is one of the most faithful reproductions of the original circuit I have ever used. I should know since I owned 2 original phase 90s from 1975 and 1976. Sometimes the simplest, most common pedals are the best, and the phase 90 is definitely not the exception.

  • Russ Nordgren

My favorite Dunlop product is the Crybaby Classic Wah. So many ways to express yourself. Nothing else compares!

  • Petri Nakkila

My very first effect pedal for the guitar is Dunlop DimeWah pedal and it’s awesome! I can play every music style with it and it is very flexible for my use!

  • James Garrison

My favorite Dunlop product is my EVH MXR phase 90. Blows everybody away the second I step on it.

  • Rick Zilz

My rotovibe is a key part of my sound. If I could only use one pedal that’s what it would be. It covers so much ground and my rig would not be the same. Keep up the good work. MXR or bust!!!!!
    Zilz
    The Royal Sampler ’09

  • http://www.savenoneband.com Tim

I love all my dunlop products, very curious how this delay sounds!

    Cheers

  • James Celen

Original Crybaby Wah. Old School Rules.

  • Ray

My favorite products are the 10 band EQ and this Carbon Copy.
I do NOT own a Carbon Copy, but I would like one :-)
Its great from what I’ve tried out in the stores, it has a super warm sounding delay, and easy to use, easy to control.

The 10 band EQ is awesome because i found my tone with it, it goes far beyond what the amp does and gets into all the frequencies that the amp does not, much warmer richer fatter and shimmering sound. its great!!

  • Bernard Rey

I’d say it’s the Dyna Comp that I won’t go without. It saved me a lot of strings, but it also changed my style.

  • Neil Tennent

Being a pick junky,I’ve tried dozens of different picks but I always come back to the Dunlop Tortex and standard nylon .88. I also like the 500 series but there’s something about a pink pick that just doesn’t seem right. I’m trying to get used to the jazz III but I find my fingers get fatigued, but it sounds great. So if I had to pick one, it is the Tortex green.

  • Colby Hoffer

My favorite Dunlop pedal is my 74 MXR Phase 90 reissue! My secret weapon right there! So warm and creamy.

  • Almog Adir

The best Jim Dunlop product for me would be the crybaby 535, out of all the wah pedals i have tried it is the best lots of versatility, great sound, and very easy use. An amazing piece of work, i also like the artist versions with the fasels but my 535 does the trick and the cost!

  • http://www.myspace.com/sonikcute marcelo barbero

i love jim dunlop tortex picks!! they rock…i use them live or at home with my guitar….

  • Paul Siciliano

Man, thats a hard one they all kick *ss! But maybe my Slash Wah, when you stomp on that baby all hell breaks loose!
    Cheers.

  • http://www.rhband.com mike harris

I still really like my Distortion +. I can’t really afford a tube amp so the D+ helps me get a great crunchy sound. Oh, ad picks don’t get much better than orange Tortex.

  • http://www.necrovile.com calin paraschiv

Dunlop Tortex are the no.1 picks in the entire world !!!

  • http://www.myspace.com/mxr1980 Mario

my pedalboard: Dunlop Slash Crybaby, Mxr Van Halen phase 90, Mxr Zakk Wylde overdrive, Mxr Stereo chorus, Mxr boost line driver and a Boss dd3 delay….. I think the mxr carbon copy could be more cool than the boss dd3.

  • Craig Portman

My favorite Dunlop product….is the ULTEX pick!! It is my secret weapon… I am amazed at how this pick improves everything that is guitar…. amazing! (My other secret weapon is my Dunlop Q – Zone). Rock On!

  • Mark

i love dunlop accesories, the one company that doesn’t just rely on there name to sell their accessory range, they actually make exceptional products, especially the Classic straps with the Comfort-Edge webbing…my neck thanks you

  • Taylor

I love the Dunlop 210 slide. It’s light enough that it doesn’t bang against the frets and I can make it do whatever I want it too. Match that slide with a mesa boogie 5:50, a tele or les paul, and you get sustain for days. I can cover the Allman’s type slide or get more into the minor George Harrison type stuff. It does it all and allows me a better command of slide guitar.

  • Anthony

My favorite product is the MXR Phase 90. Simply because it transports me to a realm filled with wizards and dragons.

  • http://jmrmusic.com Jason Richardson

My favorite Dunlop pedal is the 535 Crybaby because it is a wah with multiple personalities. It can be nice, or it can be savage. I also dig the fact that I can customize the tone at any give time. Saucy!

  • http://www.samhaincz.cz Marcel Blazek

My favorite Dunlop product is M-80 MXR Bass D.I.+. It’s very storming preamp with clean sound a brutal distortion. Very good is distortion blend control function.

  • Ryann Seng

I love my Dunlop Original Cry Baby. Couldn’t live without it. the wah sounds you get are amazing.. could sell all my other pedals except this one.. Love it so much.. Thank you Dunlop

  • http://www.lafuente.fr David

My favorite and most usefull product from Dunlop is the JazzIII pick. This little pick has the better dimension for play rythm, solo, sweeping and many techniques. It would be fun to make if in many colors and not only Red or Black. I had the idea to cut the pick like an heart… this form has the property to increase the stability of the pick when you sweep the strings. A pink JazzIII would be nice ;-)

  • Chris

I like the Bass Auto Q because ouah ouah boing boing pfffffui pouet kwak kwak scartch boum hue youpi youpi chwuing chuiwing chuuuing yuiki yuki

  • Manuel

I’m torn between my carbon copy and my Slash signature wah-wah, I guess the second gets most of my attention as I play a lot of G n’R stuff.

  • Conrad

Dunlop Crybaby GCB-95 because it is built like a tank and is hands down the best wah ever! I love daisy chaining effects with this pedal and the tones I get are out of this world!

  • http://www.youtube.com/jummi99 Jummi Hamalainen

I would have to say that the most important Dunlop product is the Jazz 3 Ultex pick. I use exclusively the Ultex Pick because it’s tighter (more stiff) and lasts longer than the black ones. I can manage with the older models but the Ultex is defenitely the best one out there at the moment!!!
I also just recently bought EVH Phase wich I can’t seem to get enough of :)

  • http://www.myspace.com/specialpreserve Ben Smith

It’s got to be the Dynacomp. Beats every other compressor I’ve tried (which is a lot!) hands down. From Blues through funk to rock and country, it’s pretty much always on – as Jerry Reed said about them – “Don’t leave home without one, son!”

  • Heumann Philippe

    PRODUCT:Dunlop Crybaby GCB-95
The strongest product i ever use. It’s just like a good old friend for pure roots sound and creativity. Let’ Cry baby

  • http://www.viiarcano.com Marco Montagna

My favourite MXR pedal is the GT Overdrive, which I use in front of a Peavey 5150. It’s a very clean overdrive, but gives a hard bite to the sound, and it is very versatile: I’m getting my sound with mostly any amp, thanx to that, and it Rocks!

  • http://www.theweathermachine.com Jon Martin

My absolute favourite so far is the ’74 handwired custom phase 90. its makes the regular production one sound like a toy! +100 ftw

  • http://www.myspace.com/jasijansson Jonas Jansson

I have the Dime Wah. It’s so amazing. The tone tweaking of the Dime Wah is so variable that you can get almost any wah sound you want from it. And it also looks very cool. RIP Dimebag! The boost switch, tone switch and everything you want in a Wah pedal is there. So versatile! Keep the nice work up with the pedals! Oh and also play on Dunlop strings! Very steel sound even thou it aint! Clarity and harsh!

  • http://www.myspace.com/timhackett Tim Hackett

Back in the 80s my favorite MXR pedal was the Phase 45. It was such a subtle effect that enabled me to make the same sounds as my favorite guitar players like Carlos Santana and John McLaughlin.

  • Peter

The cry baby wah is an essential classic that enables you to make your guitar speak, cry or produce any subtle emotion in between. Its the first pedal that any stomp box crazy guitar player should buy!

  • http://blog.andrewbeacock.com Andrew Beacock

I just simply love your Tortex picks! Can’t wait to get hold of a mix pack of the new Ultrex Sharps when they get released in the UK!

  • Raymond Haug

The best pedal I have ever owned is the dunlop crybaby kh-95… This baby really cries, have an awesome sound, with a killer tone, just like a true footprint of Kirk Hammet. It’s an amazing pedal, and comes with a very nice look too. Owned it for almost two weeks now, never going to use any other wah wah pedal ever just because this one is the king of all wah pedals. So check it out and cry baby, CRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

  • Paul Whistler

I have been using the MXR Distortion unit for over twenty years… To me, it’s the standard of the industry… I have no need to use any other distortion.

  • Cristian Virdis

My favourite Dunlop product is the ZW44 Zakk Wilde Overdrive. It’s the best overdrive I’ve ever listen to, enables to make some different sounds, from the almost clean boost to the really dirty sound…very very good!

  • Dino Scalese

My favorite is the classic wah. It is great for blues and great for metal. If i ever needed to switch in a performance it would be very easy. My Wah has been through a lot. LONG LIVE THE CRYBABY

  • Daniela Moretti

Hi, my favourite MXR pedal is the bass Blowtorch Overdrive: it has so much low-end and grit that it’s impossible to play without it!

  • dan

My favorite dunlop pedal would have to be the dunlop wah 535. It is the swiss army knife of wahs. I have one in chrome and one in a copper finish. They look like something that should be sitting on the kitchen counter back in a 1950′s kitchen aid advertisement. Too much fun!!

  • Michael Jurva

Zakk Wylde ZW45 signiture Cry Baby Wah pedal! It becomes a part of your foot, you are in total control with the wah at all time!!!

  • Oliver Friis

I have the EVH Phaser 90. It’s without doubt the best phaser I’ve ever owend. I sounds so “real” not that spacy kinda feeling. I use it to all my soloing. Thanks

  • J. Scime

My favorite Dunlop product is the MXR MC404 CAE Wah. Love the sound and versatility of this wah. Great tones and the built in booster keeps everything tight and focused. The internal trim pots are a great feature too! Used to mod wahs in order to get the sound I wanted, but this wah nails it and has all the extra features I was looking for. Great product!

  • Chris Campbell

My Distortion III. Can go from a boost into my amp, to full-on distortion by itself. Very touch sensitive too.

  • Dana Surette

My favourite Dunlop product would have to be the ZW-45 Zakk Wylde wah. The tones from it are sooo smooth and it dosnt get screechy like other wahs which in my book is much more useable over a larger range of music.

A close second would have to be the yellow tortex picks, I love those things……

  • http://www.myspace.com/matttexter Matt Texter

My favorite MXR pedal is the ’74 Vintage Phase 90. It allows me to dial in those vintage tones that I love and it also allows me to create a new pallet of tones that I never thought possible. It’s simple design and ease of use make it one of the go to effects on my board.

  • Cam

It’s gotta be the Crybaby. Why? It’s simple, yet effective. No buttons or dials cluttering up the face. Just the in, the out, and your right foot. And it comes in my favorite color. Black. Even though technically black is not a color.

  • Kevin LaBrie

I love my Dunlop WAH WAH .Just a great all around tool.

  • http://jimdunlop.com Mark

I have the slash wah. it’s nice to have such a strong, pronounced sweep in a wah. Now at just the right time pop the built in gain and BOOM!!! you have a soul wrenching, toothy sound thaat will grab the notes your playing and bring them to that level you’ve always been looking for. This is one of my most appreciated pedals.

  • Jason Alfieri

DIMEBAG WAH!!!!!!!!!! Is my favorite wah pedal by far. Awesome features, sweet sweep, definately helps give my playing a better flavor, but being painted camo, hard to see on stage…come on, that was a joke. Anyway, if you dont have this pedal, it’s worth taking a test drive. Rock on!!!

  • Ken Janoso

I use the CryBaby Classic Wah pedal with the Fasel Inductor. It gives that smooth low to high sound that is like no other wah that I have used. I also own and sometimes use the Original Crybaby, but the Classic is still “Classic” on my pedal board.

  • http://www.dixienormus.com Bob Atkins

Wow where to start. One of my favorite pedals was a micro phase back in the day, I put so much wear on that one it eventually got a paint job. I have an original cry baby, a dime wah, a phase 90, and a dyna comp that I use allot now for a clean boost and for those notes ya just want to hang a little longer. I also like Dunlop tortex picks as I play pretty hard and most other picks seem to nipple at the bottom and cause string breakage. It’s safe to say from late 70s to now I almost got stocks. LOL

  • Chris Funk

My favorite Dunlop pedal is the 535Q wah. It is very versatile so I can tweak the settings to get the best sound for each guitar. It is sturdy and would hold up to plenty of abuse – though why would you abuse such a wonderful piece of musical history?

  • Anthony Katsakis

I have the Super Comp M-132 and is great. It hasn’t tone loss when it’s on or off and doesn’t have any colour to the tone. Very nice for Gilmour type staff. Great!

  • Dave Wessel

The Dunlop Tortex 1.0mm pick. Love the feel, the touch, the stiffness. I will never play anything else.

  • http://www.myspace.com/mitchmckendry Mitch Master

Always have used Crybaby for as long as they been out. Recently bought the MXR MC404 CAE Wah and I’m very happy with this. I won’t have to do any mods on this , great pedal I’m very happy .

  • http://www.myspace.com/cruelseamus Kevin

My favorite pedal is the MXR Phase 90. I can dial it in for all of the different sounds I need during a gig by rotating the button with my foot. It sounds great. I can not play without it.

  • http://www.theburningstate.com Jason

My favorite pedal is the 95Q Wah – hands down!!

  • Pete Hamrick

Tough to pick a favorite…Phase 90, Stereo Chorus and Dunlop Ultex Sharp Picks…I have been using a Phase forever and the Phase 90 is easy to use and sounds great…Thanks Dunlop for making some user friendly pedals!

  • John Richards

I guess my Favorite has to be the Swollen Pickle Re-Issue just rawks so good

  • Alex Asselin

My favourite Dunlop pedal has to be the 95Q. A straight-up CryBaby with a volume boost. Couldn’t ask for anything more to go first on my board!

  • Mike Chartier

without question the bass D.I. is my favorite. It’s really all I need for my tone. Whether I’m looking for growl or heavy distortion it does it all. I call it the Swiss army knife of bass pedals.

  • http://www.stompunderfoot.com Matthew Pasquerella

    The Distortion +
Still a great and simple pedal.

  • Kevin Murphy

I’ve use a Crybaby wah for over 25 years it is ALWAYS in my pedal board1 I would be naked with out it’s sweep and wail!

  • http://www.reverbnation.com/thesugarbonesband J Talley

I love my Dunlop wah. Would likem to have a Carbon Copy…

  • David Hammermann

My favorite pedal has got to be the Crybaby 535Q wah. I enjoy the fact that you can dial in many different types of tone changing wah insanity. Plus the active boost is nice when there’s a lead work needed. I upgraded from an older Jimi Hendrix version wah from the 90′s that began to pick up radio stations in my house. I like the upgrade.

  • Donny

I had my doubts, but now you will have to pry my Slash SW-95 Wah from my cold dead hand. I will not give it up eeeevvveerr!

  • Tom Hannon

The MXR 10 Band EQ is the best piece of equipment that I own. I always have it on and is a great tool for sculpting and improving my overall tone.

  • http://myspace.com/tragedyisbeauty Tommy Garcia

I just may be the only one on here to say this: I LOVE the Blue Box. My music has much variety and I’m always looking for new sounds and it seems I’ve always surprised people when they ask “what is that sound?” and I answer that it is my guitar. I also own a six band EQ and I’m looking to purchase a ten band soon, the six band has been such a useful tool and designing my tone.

  • Ken

My favorite is the classic wah. It is great for blues and great for metal.

  • http://rockhousemethod.blogspot.com Terry White

My favorite has to be the MXR Phase 90, there is no other phase anywhere that sounds like it, nothing even comes close. I can get everything from Van Halen to any of the modern sounds.
I probably have 2 or 3 thousand dollars invested in nothing but effects, rack and pedals, and the only phase that I use or trust is the Dunlop Phase 90, and it’s the only one I ever will use.
    Terry White

  • Guillermo

My fovorite pedal since 1991 is Wha GCB-95, it combines perfect with any distortion stomp box but specially with any Fuzz, so it’s my sound Fuzz+ Dunlop Wha GCB-95. I should say that I bought it 3 times for different reasons but never because it breaks down.

    cheers.

  • Bob

The Hendrix Wah is the best, perfect for Burning the Midnight Lamp.

  • Patrick

My fav is Dunlop Tortex pics. From the minute that I first tried them back in the late 80′s I was sold. Still using them today.

  • Jim Kvoriak

My favorite is the 6B EQ which is in my amp’s effects loop. It’s on all the time and really opens up the sound of my rig.

  • Fernando Zanaga

My favourite dunlop pedal is the Zakk Wylde Wah. It has very smooth tones and also has a great design.

  • http://www.myspace/johnryzkanin John R Yzkanin

My favorite MXR products are MXR Commande Series Stereo Flanger, MXR phase 90, MXR CAE Wah mc-404, MXR distortion +. The Flanger is analog heaven, very thick and mildly swirly. The distortion + is instant Randy Rhoads. The MXR CAE Wah is fantastic and the kick switches rule. The MXR Phase 90 is the best phaser ever.

  • David

the best wah wah in the world 535Q it has every kind of wah that ur heart craves for . and easy to use.

  • Robert

I have been using the dyna comp for years and just love it!

  • Bear Carnal

The only Dunlop products I use are the picks.Love me some Dunlop picks…….I heard the demo of the Corbon Copy,Could use this in my set-up……..Thanks.

  • Ed

My all time favorite Dunlop product is going to be the MXR Carbon Copy, after I win one of course.

  • R. Brandon

My two favs are my mid 70′s Crybaby and my early 80′s Dynacomp, bought new and never had a problem!

  • mike p

I love the mxr evh phase 90. You can’t get that Atomic Punk tone without it. It really shows how much this effect was a part of the early VH sound.

  • T. Leininger

My favorite is my Crybaby 535Q. I love the fact that I can dial in a good variety of wah tones.

  • George Davis

This was a tough call, but I’d have to say that my favorite Dunlop product is the MXR Carbon Copy. It adds depth, warmth, and ambiance to my tone. The Carbon Copy fills any room with vintage analog goodness. It’s so good, that it allowed me to retire my coveted vintage analog delay, because the Carbon Copy actually sounds better. It’s so good that I need another one, for a second pedal board. Thanks, Dunlop. Now, how about a reissue of the MXR Phase 45?

  • Frank Berdini

My favorite Dunlop/MXR products is my Dimebag Wah. I stubbled upon by accident, and I’m glad I did. It has that kick you in the throat growl, as well as subtle and simple tones.
The skate board grip is ingenious. Why didn’t someone think of that before?
I’m constantly tweaking the Q control and Fine Tune controls. I’ll never buy another wah, I can’t seem to find bad combination with this!

  • Joe

My favorite Dunlop product IS the Carbon Copy. I choose it as my go-to analog delay because nothing comes close to those warm, haunting repeats. The fact that it comes in a compact MXR enclosure is just the icing on the cake. More room for on pedalboard (possibly for a second CC?)

  • Rick B

Very partial to the Carbon Copy for the analog chocolate goodness that it imparts and the lush spaciousness it adds to any guitar sound, clean or crunchy.

  • http://massdesrtuctionentent@myspace.com Davey Mass

I have a fair amount of MXR pedals, and most of those that I do not own, I have tested or borrowed. In fact, just recently i began to make an all Dunlop/ MXR pedalboard. So not to get all phsycological on the question, but I honestly cannot say which one is my favorite, only because every single pedal that i have is indespensible. They are incomparable and intrinsicaly findamental to me and my sound. You know that tone that you search for being a musician, well, thats what these pedals have done for me, so im sorry if i cannot answer the question, its just the unvarnished truth.

“I will say that I cherish The CryBaby 539Q for its incredibally versitality and it being the first in line from my amp, actually is the best wah sound i ever got out of my rig. And that was just pugged in with out any tweaking to the booster or Q controls” rig.

  • John DeCaro

My favorite dunlop product is the cry baby. I love it’s classic look and sound.

  • Steve Zabriskie

My Phase 90 is my favorite, one knob + one button = sweet solo tone!

  • http://none Wayne Hall

Someone turned me on to the Dunlop Tortex guitar picks at a guitar jam several years back. The green 0.88 mm ones have been the only pic I use since that day. They never fail, feel perfect and made me realize there really is a difference. Every time I grab a new one I am reinvigorated!

  • Jeff Underwood

My Crybaby Wah pedal is the definitive wah sound. Weeping, crying, soulful sounds abound from this trouble-free, long-living pedal. And, how could you play “Theme From Shaft” without a wah?

  • Rob P.

The Jimi Hendrix Authentic Series octavia is definately my fave Dunlop Pedal. I love the way the high notes scream and morph. Unfortunately mine was stolen and dunlop doesnt make them anymore. A free Carbon Copy would make me feel a little better though.

  • Donald Hajek

My favorite has to be the 535q wah.I’ve had it for 9 years and have yet to find a setting that I don’t like.

  • http://jimdunlop.com fred steiner

the cry baby wah!still an exellent product!

  • Mark Greenbaum

My two favorites are the Carbon Copy, which I just tried out, and of course my mid 70’s Black Crybaby. The CruBaby really get the Voodoo Chile, and White Room wahwah down perfectly.

  • Mark Greenbaum

My two favorites are the Carbon Copy, which I just tried out, and of course my mid 70’s Black Crybaby. The CryBaby really get the Voodoo Chile, and White Room wahwah down perfectly.

  • Vikingur Hjartarson

My favourite dunlop is the original CryBaby. It just sounds like a wah pedal should sound. My favourite MXR is the old phase 90 or the Micro Amp.

  • http://www.billmackay.com Bill MacKay

The Carbon Copy has added warmth and verve! where once there was only the icy winds of a cold delay! Live on I say. May the echo endure!

  • Quentin Averill

My favorite is my Cry Baby. Classic effect that I can shape with my other pedals. Also love the “DC-Brick”, what a great product.

  • Fred barber

My favorite Dunlop product would be the Distortion III. Even though it is called a distortion, I use it as more of a beefed up Overdive. It is the most transparent pedal I have found to give me that extra edge my amp needs without changing the tone. Although if I had a carbon carbon my favorite could change!!! ;-)

  • Aron Tomassi

I’d have to say that the thing I could not do without at gigs (and what I worry about most) are my little, orange .6 mm. Tortex plectra. Once I have gotten the rubbery coating off, they have the texture and attack of celluloid, mixed with the durability and longevity of nylon. Just an amazing product. I have a 535Q and a Carbon Copy on my pedalboard, have owned an early 80′s Distortion + and Dyna Comp, and still have an early 80′s Phase 90 and Phase 100. Dunlop’s already working in the right direction with the true bypass thing, and the re-issue MXR stuff is wonderful — if only for the jacks and switches, because the components on the new stuff SUUUUUK!

  • Tom

My favorite MXR product is the M108 10-band EQ. In fact it’s probably my favorite piece of gear period because it lets me shape my tone exactly how I want it. Its become such an essential piece of gear for me that without even thinking about it I always put this in my amplifiers loop effect, so not only can I shape my guitars tone, but my amp’s tone as well.

  • David M. Butler

Well, it might seem kind of strange to say so, but one of my favorite Dunlop products is the .71 mm pick I always use (standard Dunlop 500, not the fancy ones). It has just the right feel and firmness, and (not to be overlooked) the distinctive pink color makes it easy to find if I drop it. I keep a steady supply of them around my room, extras in my guitar cases, and I always (and I mean ALWAYS) have one in my pocket–since you never know when you’ll be called upon to play, right?

  • Jonathan Lee

My favorite Dunlop product would be the Cry Baby Wah! Its simple and always kicks up licks and solos! Had mine for a couple of years and it never lets me down!

  • Chris Long

I use nothing BUT the Dunlop .71mm pick… Just the right flex, and the edge is PERFECT for snap harmonics…

  • George Gkikakis

My favorite Dunlop product is be the Zakk Wylde overdrive, it’s great for giving you a boost for your solos and I get an oldscool thrash sound similar to early metallica solos.

  • james snyder

My favorite Dunlop pedal is the Blue Box. I follow it with a modulation pedal (Phase 90). When I play with a slide the tracking is loose enough that I can make some really convincing synth sounds.

  • Steve Haynie

Oh, heck! My favorite Dunlop product is the yellow .73mm Tortex pick. I have bought those for years and years! It is the perfect pick for playing bass! It is great for switching between bass and guitar. I have Dunlop pedals, slides, and polish, but that pick has had my loyalty since the 80′s!

  • Frederic Pedneault

My favorite Dunlop product is the Cry Baby Wah. Of all Wahs I tried and road tested, Cry Baby is still the one that sets the standard. (And no other one has ever beaten that standard ever since !).

  • Nick Dobransky

Dunlop Tortex picks are THE BEST in the market place. I use several different thicknesses since I play both guitar and bass. These picks hold up a long, long time !

  • Nick Pierro

My favorite product is the Crybaby Classic! Great price, and awesome tone, AND true bypass!!!! I have two!!!

  • Lorenzo Pious

I still own a “purple box” Flanger, Phase 100, Distortion+, Dyna Comp all MXR from when I played in a band in the late ’70′s, to late 80′s. All are road tested and still work great. These are my favorite pedals because of their proven reliability and great sound quality I don’t use anything else! Now that my band is reuniting, I will use the same pedalboard set up, with the addition of a Carbon Copy analog delay.

  • Ron Ando

My old Crybaby wah. Stomp on it, kick it, drag it around. It takes a lickin’ but keeps on tickin’. And I bought it used too.

  • Dave Custalow

The 401 line boost is my favorite because I kick it on in front of all my overdrive/distortions pedals for that extra ooomph!

  • Mike Statkus

My favorite Dunlop product is my old Distortion+ pedal. It provides great overdrive tones without being too fuzzy or artificial sounding. Perfect for rock and blues.

  • http://N/A Matt McBride

My favorite Dunlop product has got to be Tortex Picks.
I used to use nylon and celluloid for ages, and always had problems with breaking, cracking,
and because I used to play Punk, always grinding away to nothing. Tortex always hold up to abuse. always stay in my hand, always will continue to do so for me until Death.

  • http://www.thesandcarvers.com Chris Trotier

My favorite? Easy – the EVH Phaser. A great, warm sounding simple [haser, that sounds great with bass.

  • Stefanos

My favorite dunlop product is the rotovibe. Incredible atmospheric sound

  • DJ Fletcher

Cry Baby. Timeless, classic. Will ALWAYS be a part of modern music.

  • Eric

I have two favorites though one isn’t made anymore. The crybaby (of course) and the 2mm graphite picks you use to make. Luckily I now have a stockpile of them so i needed go without

  • James Gould

    Nice job as always,

    Jim G
    Hernando, Florida

  • http://www.myspace.com/crushedhead tom canning

Dimebag wah. It has been with me on stage and in band practice for 6.5 years. The boost function is essential. I can’t play a wah pedal without one. Also works great for recording direct along with the POD X3.

I never thought I would switch from the traditional Jazz III which I have been using since the 1980s but recently switched to the Jazz III Ultex. It’s a little bigger than the Jazz III but just the right size for my fingers. It also has a coating that makes it really easy to grip, especially when you first take a new pick out of the package.

  • http://catdaddy_59@yahoo.com brian lacy

I have them all frrom 1978 on my favorite Dunlop pedal would have to be the one stomped on at any given time, they all rock they roll they scream the blues.I just wish I could take them fishing.

  • simon finch

The univibe, unique sound particularly with the expression pedal.

  • http://www.myspace.com/gino1771 Gino Meregillano

I love all the MXR pedals but my favorite is the Carbon Copy. It has a great vintage slap back sound as well as a sweet sounding long delay. You can also get that kool analog delay feedback fo spacey sound effects. Big bonus for the blue light as well!!

  • Anthony Mullin

My favourite Dunlop product is the MXR 10 Band EQ. The EQ options give you more control over the shape of your sound than you could want. The extra gain and volume add exactly what you need to cut through the band when its time to solo, and its also versatile for live, studio and bedroom setups.

  • Mike Anderson

My favorite Dunlop pedal is the CRY BABY WAH. Mine still works good after 12 years. Thanks Dunlop for the great products.

  • Zakk

Phase 90 for sure, but I’ve grown to love the Blue Box over the years, too.

  • Tim Ahlman

Dunlop original Thomas design Jimi Hendrix Wah. The pedal captures Jimi’s sound so well. It’s Amazing!

  • Anders O Jonsson

The Tortex picks. It might be small but definitely not insignificant. I haven’t found their equal, period. Oh, and I really like the colors as well :D

  • http://www.theeldorados.org/index.htm Mark Scardello

I love my MXR Super Comp! It brings everything up front with clarity as well as special effects like squeeze, spank, and sustain.

  • Keni

My favorite product up to date are my Dunlop Tortex Jazz Picks. I am in love with the size and shape of these little suckers, I don’t play as smooth, fast, or consistent with any other type of pick. Thanks!

  • Ryan Bond

Phase 90 – Like all dunlop pedals, offers complex tone, simplistic operation, compact design at and affordable price.

  • Joe Edillon

I have a couple of Dunlop products, but since I use this everyday, I would have to say that my favorite is the Ultex pick. No other pick (and I have tried many) has given the clarity, regardless of the guitar I play.

  • Kirk Bolen

I love my power brick, has made powering my pedalboard so much easier and quieter

  • Steve Bowd

I like the MXR Dyna Comp. It sounds great.

  • David Svoboda

For years I didn’t think a pick could make a difference until I bought some Dunlop Tortex picks. I just used whatever was lying around as long as they were 1.00 mm but I got some Tortexs (Tortex-i, like cacti ? Whatever the plural is) and I’ll be a monkey’s uncle ! There actually IS a difference both in feel and tone ! These are actually my favorite products now. I use them exclusively and have for about 3 years.

  • Eric Collander

The Dyna Comp. It really tightened up my sound and added some great sustain. It’s the thing that pulled everything together into the sound I was looking for.

  • Joe

My favorite MXR pedal is the EVH Phase 90. This pedal has a great tone….especially in the “Script” setting. Reminds me of my old Script Phase 90 that I had years ago.

  • James Adkins

My favorite product is the Dunlop Ultex 1.0 pick. The material produces a warm tone, is flexible and provides the perfect attack on the strings. None better!

  • http://www.krosswindz.com Vikramjit Banerjee

Dunlop original Thomas design Jimi Hendrix Wah.This pedal is so inspiring, the myriad of tones that ooze out of this beauty is just amazing. This is usually first in my pedaol chain and it just gives something special to the tone of my rig,i cannot think of a ever parting with my Dunlop original Thomas design Jimi Hendrix Wah

  • http://www.purevolume.com/theamplifiedhitman Christopher Billings

My favorite Dunlop product is the MXR EVH117 Flanger pedal. I love the high quality-solid body construction and the swirling tones it produces! Been a user of Dunlop/MXR for years.

  • http://marceloelioterio.wordpress.com Marcelo Eliotério

My Dunlop DB-01 Dimebag from hell kicks ass, it’s so versatily and when you put a distortion with that, hell this wahhh screammmmms, also the mxr zakk to get the punch and definition distortion in front a tube amp, GOD WHAT IS THAT?? screams like the olivia palito from popeye. MXR and Dunlop are fuc**** greats!

  • Scott

my crybaby wah… wah wah………love playing with that and my phase 90

  • Diego Fiorentino

It has to be the Boost/Linedriver MC-401. Such a simple pedal sometimes isnt as easy to find. Had look for quite a while for a boost that didnt change my tone and found it with this one! Best quality and awesome sound!!

  • David Ey

My favorite Dunlop product are the Distortion III pedal. It’s the only dunlop pedal i currently own but it’s good enough for me. I can add an extra bite to my clean or overdrive or just completely overload my sound with aggressive gain.

  • Billy Jackson

Id have to say my MXR Zakk Wylde Overdrive Pedal….it has a great dirty bluesy tone, when using the clean channel on my amp…and it also gives the distortion channel more of a chunky/metal tone, and makes all of the pinched harmonics really stand out….its my most prized possession as far as my pedals are concerned….I never play without it….Dunlop and MXR make the greatest pedals ever…

  • Steven A.

I love the DC Brick. It’s compact, reliable, and affordable.

  • http://www.blueglowaudio.com Michael V.

Hmmmm, let me see … My Cry Baby 535Q, my Classic Distortion, Jazz III picks, Tortex picks; which to choose? Today I’ll have to go with my newest discovery — The Eric Johnson Jazz III picks. I thought they would be the same as the Jazz IIIs but they’re not! The Jazz IIIs are still great for the solid bottom end and utter lack of additional pick attack they impart to your tone, but the Eric Johnsons add a distinctive touch of brightness with more overtones. Same control, but more complex tone. How cool!

  • Justin

My favorite Jim Dunlop product is the black 1.14mm Jazz III guitar pick. It has given me better picking technique, more control over my dynamics, and it doesn’t slip out of my fingers. A great pick!

  • Yo

DB-01 Dimebag Darrell for SURE. Greatest pedal ever. It has great tone when it comes to metal. the crunch, the Darrell experience, the experience of a lifetime.

  • Gary Maule

My favourite Dunlop product is most definately the MXR Carbon Copy, this pedal has transformed my sound – It should be compulsory that every guitarist should have at least one!!!!! It’s Fantasmagorical!!!!!!!

  • http://www.alternatejourney.com Wayne

The Dyna Comp. This compressor provides just the right kind of compression response to make my guitar sound sooo musical.

  • http://www.falconismyname.com Dave Badiuk

    vintage phase 90!

  • Martin

Phase 100. Nobody talks about it, but it’s the working man’s phaser. It does phase sounds that nothing else can do, gets into Univibe territory, and can cop the Phase 90 sound better than some Phase 90s.

  • http://myspace.com/standindarkness Robert

The Zakk Wylde Overdrive pedal has definitely changed my tone for the better. I play all types of metal and have recently upgraded from the boss super overdrive pedal, the Zakk Wylde overdrive has been able to breathe new life into my tone and my pinch harmonics scream, i play through an ampeg v4 and i will never use or need any other overdrive pedal ever.

  • Wouter

I love the standard Crybaby (GCB-95). It’s a nice wah for beginners, but can be a monsterous wah when modded for everyone. I have mine modded and it can compete with any boutique wah.

  • Matt Schwandt

Dunlop tortex .73mm picks. Sure, they may not be as sexy as some of Dunlop’s other products, but I’ve been playing them for over a decade and won’t use any other pick!

  • Daniel

Definitely Dunlop Jazz IIIs. It had bigger impact on my playing than anything before.

  • Ben Kemp-Reynolds

For sure would have to say the Dunlop Classic Wah-Wah, I use it all the time to get that funky 60s vibe

  • Patrick Belanger

My Favourite Dunlop product is my new dunlop kh95 Kirk Hammett crybaby, i cant shut it off! it just sounds sooo good, my search for the perfect wah sound is finally over, thanks Dunlop.

  • Callum Conners

Definately the Slash Wah pedal bacause it captures the amazingly perfecy sound of the long haired legend.

  • Conor

My favourite would definitely be the Blue Box. This thing is insane on it’s own, and even more so with some dirt before or after it in the chain. It’s really let me define my own sound and allows more diversity when writing. Plus it can be used as just a brilliant fuzz if you turn the blend knob up all the way. The glitchiness and unpredictability of this thing also make it one of my favourite pedals in general.

  • http://www.myspace.com/eldenband Thomas

My favorite dunlop product is the gt-od overdrive, it looks great and sounds great, actually makes my practice amp sound great, it’s the best overdrive i’ve ever played with.

  • http://myspace.com/itsthezealots Beau Gordon

i love the stereo chorus- it’s the best chorus i’ve every played and the range of options and 18v headroom is incredible.

  • Matthew Whitworth

My favorite Dunlop product is my Bass Blowtorch. While I love the EQ set-up with the adjustable mids, the blend knob is the icing on the cake. All bass distortion should have one!

  • Frank

I love my MXR Smart Gate. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do and stays out of the way if you know what I mean. It’s TB when off but it also has a nice sounding buffer when it is on. I have used it just for the buffer on occasion. Very useful pedal that will stay on my board for a very long time.

  • Ron Reyes

Love the Dunlop Wah’s but the one thing I can’t live without are my Red Dunlop Jazz III XL picks. Wish they were available in purple… Thanks Dunlop!

  • Eric

My favorite is of course the standard Cry Baby Wah !!
it’s the choice of champions…. nothing need more said !!!!!

  • Mike Sheehan

The Dyna Comp is my favorite MXR pedal. It does exactly what a compressor should. From subtle to squash, by far my favorite compressor. It’s the basis of my tone. Who wants a compressor that’s so transparent you can’t tell it’s on? Seems illogical…what’s the point and why drain your bank account for something you don’t want to be noticed. The price, quality, simplicity and tone of the standard Dyna Comp makes it my stand out favorite!

  • Ron Reyes

Love the Dunlop Wah’s but I can’t live without the RED Jazz III XL picks. Wish they were available in Purple. Thanks Dunlop!

  • John Lenington

I would say my MXR chrous pedal. It’s analog, true bypass and one of the best sounding chorus pedals out there, and I listened to samples of many before I decided on the MXR. honorable menton to the EJ jazz 3 picks.

  • John Ferland

The Dunlop Wah is my favorite because it is superior quality , durability, and sound compared to others.

  • David Angel

My favourite Dunlop product would have to be the MXR-108, or the 10-band EQ. It never leaves my signal chain, is always on when I’m playing, and I’m also constantly tweaking the sliders to find my tone. It made my amp roar and come alive, unlike any of the other pedals I’ve got.

  • Alejandro Mercado

My favorite Dunlop product is Nylon Jazz III XL picks!! These things are monsters!! These picks never let me down.. I can use one pick for days maybe even weeks! They give you awesome attack and awesome grip!!! I will never ever use a different pick!!

  • milton

    Reissue Script Phase 90!

  • Juan Villafañe

My favorite product is the MXR Dyna Comp. It gives huge amounts of sustain and a kind of twangy sound to my guitar.

  • http://www.myspace.com/trinityscross Lorne Carter

Right now I’d have to vote for my Dunlop MXR Eddie Van Halen Flanger Pedal. I love the versatility of having two settings ready with the push of a button when playing live. And really, can you beat that “Unchained” tone? I’d love to get my hands on a Carbon Copy and see what I could do with it. (hint..hint..pick me)

  • Andy B

The Crybaby of course! Such a unique and classic sound, and can be combined with lots of other effects…

  • Joe Recupero

Vintage grey Flanger… The most transparent beautiful sound!

  • http://myspace.com/gitaroo John Phillips

My favorite MXR pedal is the 10 Band EQ. I have two of these, not because one of them is defective, but it’s a staple on both of my professional boards. There’s no way I could get the sound I get without it.

When I first moved to Nashville and realized that I would need more than just the few pedals that I had (including your awesome Custom Shop Script Phase 90), I went to the local Guitar Center. When I told them I was wanting to create my signature sound, they immediately told me the best pedal for the job was the EQ. The first settings I put on there were completely random…only boosting no more than 6 dB, but once I had a firmer grasp on where my tone needed to go, I used the EQ more effectively and now I get constant compliments from every engineer I have been recorded by since.

    I LOVE this pedal.

  • Alan Greenleaf

My favorite Dunlop product would be my Dimebag Crybaby From Hell. It is the best sounding and more versatile wah I’ve ever used. It’s nice how it has the five way selector switch to change the sweep and the fine tune controls to dial in your sound. Plus I like the way Crybaby’s have true bypass and don’t switch to being a volume pedal when it is off. My Morley wah is so annoying how when you disengage it, you have to make sure you have the pedal all the way forward or it cuts the volume.

  • justin hachey

my favourite pedal is the ZW44 Wylde Overdrive. really thickens things up and makes for a great clean boost. i also like how it doesn’t have the mid hump like every other overdrive out there. it lets my tone STAY my tone. the slight mid scoop actually add more definition, in my opinion.

Thanks for the great pedal, guys!

  • Lance Radford

The MXR Carbon Copy! There is a reason everyone is leaving comments here. From the subtle echos to far out self oscillation the, MXR Carbon Copy does it all.

  • mark kristian

To say a which single Dunlop product is my favourite would be impossible because Dunlop products are so amazing and essential to my playing that i like them all!

  • David Blake

My Crybaby Wah, the ultimate classic!

  • Gary Rafferty

I’d say the new Hendrix Fuzz Face pedal is my favorite. The fuzz totally rips.

  • nick

i love my crybaby its a good classic analog wah pedal its sweep is just perfect i use it al the time

  • william walls

carbon copy. what could be better than a nice echo?

  • Carl Czaga

The Phase 90 – a classic that I’ve used since the early 80′s (yeah, I’m that old) and haven’t had to replace because it still works – and I’ve stomped on it countless times.

  • NikoAsh

I own an EVH phase 90, a Wylde Overdrive, and a Dimebag Wah (I’m not looking necessarily for signature stuff, but I tested them and they just suit my taste). Can’t say if one is my favorite, cause MXR just kicks major ass !!

  • CarlosJ

the crybaby from hell is my favorite, it’s so versatile its unbelievable, you can go from funk to metal with the quick twist of some knobs and you are ready to go!
the thing is incredible, good work dunlop!

  • Carter Shelter

I would have to say my personal favorite Dunlop pedal is the Heil Talkbox. Although i don’t use it in many songs, the sound it gives is just so great and unique. People always get so amazed when i rip it up on the talk box. I also use a Crybaby and the Jimi Hendrix Octavio and MXR 6-BAnd EQ (I’m upgrading to 10-Band soon). All of which give great amazing tones, but the talkbox always just amazes me w/ its sound. It works great with a clean or distorted sound and actually when i combine it with my octavio i can get some crazy weird sounds. Dunlop is great and i have really been looking for a delay that can work like a delay should AND get some weird sounds which the Carbon Copy is perfect for. It’s also very compact (like all MXR pedals) :)

  • Guy Wilson

The Dynacomp. The best compression pedal made. I have compared it to many other and Dyna comes up the best by far. Keep the music playing. :-) Thanks. Guy

  • Gino Ames

The MXR Zakk Wylde Overdrive. You take a tube amp that is almost dirty and then hit this pedal and your tone just sings.Back down the volume and it clean right up!

  • Troy Merrill

Back in the day (70′s & 80′s), my sound was rounded out with a Distortion+, Dynacomp, Cry Baby, and a Phase 100. Take one of those out of the mix due to a dead battery or forgetting it at rehearsal and that one pedal would instantly become my favorite as absence makes the heart grow fonder!

  • James Callahan

If I had to pick only one product as my favorite, I’d have to say the strings are currently my favorite. The strings stay in tune, sound and feel great to play. I still love all of the Dunlop products never the less.

  • http://www.reverbnation.com/thecelltheorem Chris Bedward

My favorite dunlop product is the carbon copy. It’s self oscillation makes experimentation interesting and fun and the delays can go from subtle and gentle wonderfully epic sounding. This one stays on my board.

  • Jacob Cobb

The MXR Zakk Wylde Overdrive is my favorite. I turn it on over a dirty amp and it gives it a straight swift kick in the ass! I love it, it makes pinch harmonics scream and add so much intensity to my overall sound.

  • JTBrown

The Vintage Phase 90 is the best single effect for the pure at heart.
Steve Ray to Zepplin through a Fender Baseman can’t be beat!!
The clarity and depth holds true with just the maxed out distortion only tubes can bring.
The reissue is the only effect I use.
    Great Job.

  • Piergiuseppe Montanaro

i use the mxr zakk wylde overdrive and i think it’s the best. it’s really versatile, i use it for every genre of music, not only for heavy metal but beautifullt for blues, progressive, italian POP!!! it sounds good with humbucker (active and passive) and single coil too! it can be combined with cry baby, phase 90, with chorus, with every thing i suppose.you just need time to try ‘em all…and i thing that this overdrive will sound good anyway!

  • James Procaccini

I’m partial to the Crybaby Classic. SMOOTH BABY!

  • Rodrigo Villalva

The Crybaby Wah… Classic sound, cool pedal.

  • michael rozett

my favorit Dunlop product is the dunlop formula no. 65 lemon oil. what can i say -it worked very good on my dirty fretboard.

  • Steve

My favorite Dunlop product is the Rotovibe…sweeeeet.

  • http://myspace.com/itsthezealots Beau Gordon

the carbon copy is a great analog delay too.

i don’t know what i was doing when i traded that thing.

  • Stephen Johns

The original Crybaby. There is simply no better wah pedal made on the planet. The thing sounds amazing and is durable as hell. Enough said.

  • Phillip

Favorite is the Dunlop Original Crybaby, It adds the fun to any song!

  • Alex Gorra

My Favorite Dunlop product is Ultex Sharp picks.73. They are the best picks ever!! They add a new dimension to my tone! Thanks Dunlop!!

  • Julie

Favorite pedal is the MXR Carbon Copy, love the modulation.

  • Frank

MXR Phase 90………THE yardstick by which all other phasers are measured!!

  • Anthony Ferrazzano

It is really hard to pick a favorite! I have to choose from, Distortion+, 10 band EQ, Stereo Chorus, Smartgate, Dyna Comp, Phase 90, and Carbon Copy!
I guess my favorite would be the Distortion+ because of it’s simplicity and old school distortion tone(I have 2 D+’s). And also, my idol Randy Rhoads used them!
I love all MXR pedals!! I am almost exclusively MXR.

  • Richard Mead

My fave is my Dunlop volume pedal. It doesn’t hog as much space as most other volume pedals, and feels really good under my foot. The taper is perfect for fade ins, and it’s dead quiet. My other favorite is sadly no longer available. I really miss your red triangular picks. Everybody thinks I’m weird for using them, but I love them, and everybody thinks I weird anyway.

  • David

Phase 90. The classic rock phase sound!

  • Matt Guderjan

My favorite Dunlop product is the CRYBABY 535Q. That was my first wah, and i wish i had it back. Ive played several different wahs (original Crybaby, Crybaby From Hell which i own now, morley wah, etc.) but nothing even comes close to that 535Q i used to have. That thing was sooo expressive and just overall sounded amazing. It was really adjustable too which i really liked. It held up real well too; i had it for like 10 years before i sold it and it still worked like brand new.

  • Ray Otstott

My Crybaby, which I’ve had for years (since I lost my previous Crybaby). It sounds great, and it’s reliable, bulletproof, and reasonably priced.

  • Steve A.

The DynaComp – I leave it on all the time, because I miss it too much when its off.

  • Darrell Earwood

I hate to have to choose a favorite among so many great products. I guess I will just brag on the one I use the most. Formula 65 GUITAR POLISH&CLEANER works great on a lot of things not just instruments. I do use it on my Martin D-18, My Gibson RB-3 Wreath, and my top load Fender Telecaster. Here’s a tip! For an over-the-top shine on your microphone stand just spray on a lint free cloth and polish away all that stage grime and fingerprints!

  • Derek

i love all products but my favorite peices of gear are the zakk wylde wah its the best was since the origional cry baby, cutting edge with its full tone is amazing and using it with active pick ups is unholy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Jeremy Nilsen

The MXR PHase 90 is the greatest! I use it all the time for soloing and to add depth to rhythm parts.

  • jamo

dunlop 11-50 strings….simply nothing more critical to my tone, cause without them i wouldn’t really have any tone at all! plus they last ages, wear in quick and have a really tight punchy tone PERFECT FOR MY TONE!

  • Matthew Murrell

Put me in the game coach! I love the sound of a good delay.

  • http://myspace.com/danielcrowe Daniel Crowe

my favorite is the dc brick….clean, consistant power…..but i guess thats not really a pedal :-P the super comp would be mine….gives my playing great consistency.

  • Galen McCown

Definitely the strings, but my mind could be changed.

  • Blake Grow

I love the classic phase 90. it adds a lot of fire to my sound and is great for lead and rhythm. it is a classic.

  • http://myspace.com/delmarblues Bryan Hagwood

The Univibe chorus is on my pedalboard right now. It’s my current favorite Dunlop pedal. Check it out.

  • Yamil Slim

MXR six band eq (“70s” mdl) of course. Come on guys (Tom Scholtz / Eddie) and countless others, have gotten and continue to get amazing “swip” and “vroom vroom” from this little stomp box. Purchased one last year on ebay, and i didn’t care what I had to pay for that thing. I’ll never sell it, it’s now and forever will be part of my sound, again.

    Yamil

  • Juan H. Sanchez

    Love the MXR Phase 90.

  • http://www.inceptara.com Fred Langston

I like all my MXR pedals, so it’s unfair to make me choose one! My tone is based around the GT-OD – I don’t need no fargin’ sustainer, I can hit a wiggly screamer and make it sing for days at full volume when the Volume on the GT-OD is pegged. Season with the Gain control for taste, follow with the 10-band EQ and the Smart Gate and it’ll make anything sound better and makes great axes and amps an absolute revelation.

Give us more Custom Shop pedals!!

  • Andy Buschmann

My favorite Dunlop product is my purple 2mm Dunlop delrin guitar pick. In Nov 1987 I purchased 12 of them. I’m still using the first one…it is a very tough pick! If I drop it on a dark stage I look till I find it, no matter how long it takes, because now it’s a heirloom.

  • Lee

In my first year or so of playing I think I went through every type of pick on the market until I found Dunlop Tortex picks. I’ve gone through phases with different thicknesses but I in over 18 years I have yet to buy picks that didn’t have the Dunlop name on them. I’ve never had an issue with them and they don’t move around between my fingers while playing even the heaviest of riffs. For the past few years I’ve been using the purple 1.14 guage for both guitar and bass (well, at least when I play bass with a pick, that is).

  • Benjamin

MXR Distortion III – This is the best distortion pedal on the market hands down. Thick and creamy distortion that’s perfect for classic rock. This pedal sounds awesome with single coils and humbuckers. You can’t go wrong.

  • Frank Handschuh

I would have to say that my beloved CRY BABY 535Q wah pedal is my favorite Dunlop product, and I liked the 95Q that I had before quite a bit as well. The 535Q is one of the best on the market, and has killer tone and range. It’s the most versatile wah pedal I’ve played so far.

  • Reggie Smith

Although I own the SuperComp, Phase 90 and Distortion Plus, as well as a Dunlop Cry Baby 535Q Wah, my hands down favorite MXR toy is the Dyna Comp. It was love at first “bite”. In fact, I have an “in the box spare” just to make sure that a Dyna baby is always near by. I would not want to go back to music without her. Thanks MXR for all the wonderful products.

  • http://None Thomas Kibler

I love old Pink Floyd where delay is essential!!! I RLY NEED THIS!!!! Plus my 20th BIRTHDAY Is OCTOBER 2nd!

  • http://None Thomas Kibler

Dunlop picks are the c00lest since I jam like a motherfucker

  • Michael Wickett

Ultex picks. They’ve change my acoustic and electric playing for the better. Can’t do without them.

  • Brad Huston

My crybaby wah serves me well, as does of course the phase 90.
Either one is my favorite, depending on my day. I cannot choose just one.

  • Mike

I like the Duna Comp. Because it is red and I like red things. Like those fireball candies.

  • Keir Smith

Crybaby wah. Coolest pedal ever – period

  • scott

Tortex>all. Plus the Carbon Copy is pretty sweet.

  • Kris

That’s easy, the only MXR I own: ’74 VINTAGE PHASE 90

  • tuT

M115 – dist III is my favourite, ’cause it simply rocks.
    Good luck to everyone :)

  • http://www.black-label.com craigSmoot

While I have owned and loved many a Cry Baby and MXR stomp box, I have to be honest when I say that the ONE piece of Dunlop gear that I simply cannot nor will not gig without are my Dunlop Delrin 1.5mm picks! They are the only pick I’ve used religiously for almost 15 years now, and despite whatever advances in plectrum technology that have been made since then…I always come back to my 1.5′s, baby! They’re the perfect feel and thickness I need to bring the speed.

  • James Scott

My favorite Dunlop products are the Uni-Vibe and picks. I couldn’t play without them. They are the root of my sound. I like to play a lot of Robin Trower and Jimi Hendrix. Such a sweet swirly sound. The Dunlop yellow picks are the only ones I can hold onto and they have just enough give for me to have dead on picking skills. I have been wanting to get a Carbon Copy Delay. I hope I win one. Thanks Dunlop :)

  • mike nova

The ultimate dunlop product, hands down, is the Crybaby, period! I can do away with any other pedal in my chain, but have had a wah ever since I first plugged in 18 years ago and wont have it any other way. My crybaby is an extension of myself, equally as important as my hands or guitar.

  • http://myspace.com/thebumrushband Ben McSherry

MXR 10-band EQ has definitely done more for my tone than any pedal, I’d take everything else off my board and leave that on if I could only use one pedal.

  • Eric Kelly

Dunlop Tortex guitar picks of various thickness. I have been using these guitar picks since the late 80′s and love them! I started with the 1.14mm, but now use all sizes for all styles of playing. I love the MXR pedals as well!!! Keep the good stuff coming!

  • Tisa Fraley

What is my favorite Dunlop Product and why?
That’s easy. My favorite product is the Dunlop Body and Fingerboard Cleaning Kit. Out of all the products dunlop has to offer why the cleaning kit? Simple really. My guitars are most prized posession, and to keep them looking nice and running smoothly I take care of them with only the best products. I trust Dunlops Formula 65 to keep the finnish on my guitars nice, plus its the only product I’ve used that doesnt leave residue! The freatboard on my guitar can get a little dirty due to dust or sweat.

I only use Dunlops Freatboard 65 to clean my freatboard. It smells great and cleans away any grime and returns myfretboard to its original luster. Plus both products leave an invisible sealant against stains and moisture. That means everything to me. We invest so much money into guitars why not keep them looking and playing great with the best products out there?

  • James Tadie

My 535q wah is by far my favorite dunlop product. It was the first pedal I ever bought, and it is still on my board today.

  • Tim Gill

I love my Dunlop picks! I’ve been been using them since I started. I remember using the heavy yellow jell ones on my electrics and the nylon ones on my acoustics. Now I use green .88mm Tortex picks on my electrics when I’m playing anything but jazz, for that I use the Jazz III picks, and I use .73mm Ultex picks on my acoustics. Dunlop makes the best pick in the world!

  • chris juliani

My MXR flanger is my new favorite pedal… Great analog tone!

  • C. Royce Honeycutt

In over thirty years of playing I’ve found nothing that sucks more than being in the middle of everything on stage, in the zone, and have your freaking pick split! I don’t have that problem with my Dunlop Picks. So we can say my zone has been regularly extended..

  • ArmageddonGreg

Undoubtedly the Jazz III’s. They make playing so much easier, and make chugging and galloping sound so much heavier and more brutal.

Let’s face it. If Chuck Norris played guitar, he’d play with Jazz III’s.

  • Jesenko Ristic

    Dunlop Cry Baby.
I tried them all, over these (more than) two decades of playing for money and fun. The simpliest cry baby that I had first, bought it used and beaten in 1982, no mods. I started moding it, and finaly burned it in, I think, 1986. For some reason never liked Vox pedal, even everybody told “thats wat Jimmy uses!”
Right now I have GCB95. Good sound, wakes up that wild boy in me. Hell, I feel the woodoo…
exuse me while I kiss the sky,
    JR

  • Jay

This is hard, i’ve had almost the entire dunlop line. But i’ve held onto the Phase 90 i bought back in 1997, Dunlop has had great CS since day 1.

  • http://n/a richard ruth

My favorite Dunlop product is simply the Original Cry Baby! Superb sound and, it’s a Cry Baby, man! Played one for years until it was stolen one day…If I ever find out who it was I’m gonna git ‘im. Bought another one and never looked back!

  • Kevin

    Jazz III’s, Best pick eva!

  • Mike Phillips

The Nylon Jazz XL picks are my favorites. I use the red ones. They are by far the superior pick I have used. From playing metal to using an acoustic guitar, it give me great tone. I’ve used other brands as well as other Dunlop picks, but the Jazz XL’s by far do it for me. By the way, today is my birthday and would love a Carbon Copy to add to my rig.
    Thanks Dunlop for your products!
    Mike
    San Antonio

  • Kenneth Clark-Fernandez

the MXR 10 band eq because its made super tough. I dont have to wrry about dropping it or anything and it has true bypass

  • Gregory Rowe

Dunlop has great gel picks! They are just right for picking and strumming Jazz and Blues, as it produces a softer string stroke and feels exactly right.

  • http://www.juddhoos.com Chris

My favorite Dunlop product is the DC-Brick. It does it’s job and has never failed me.

  • http://www.myspace.com/whodruggedmydrink Allen Milbourne

MXR blue box, this thing is the most whacked out stompbox ever, sounds like nothing else!

  • Sam Hepburn

I love the Distortion 111 for its rich, warm tone, and the Micro Amp boost pedal cuz it causes the amp to naturally overdrive

  • Boris

The MXR Carbon Copy. It’s great fun to make noise with.

  • http://www.myspace.com/jakkdamage Todd K. Damage

it’s a tie for me, my green tortex 88mm picks, true tone and attack like no other. There really is a difference, I am a tone chaser and these are my picks of choice for a long time. The other is a no brainer, my Zakk Wylde wah pedal. built like a tank and cuts through with a very distinct wah sound. I only use 3 things in my gear, my Les paul, my Mesa and my ZW wah. The wah is very much a part of my sound, even turned off it still adds something, but when I kick it in for a solo from hell, jaws drop and necks break!!!!!

  • Liam

Dunlop 535BB wah, I love using it for solos with the boost or tone shaping playing power chords. It’s the best sounding and most reliable wah I’ve used.

  • Mike

Jim Dunlop Nylon .88mm, the perfect feel and size.

  • Travis Mitchell

My fav are the Tortex picks. A buddy of mine gave me two Tortex picks after he hears me complaining about breaking some others picks I had. I still have those Tortex picks and they are the only ones I play with. You just cant kill those picks they are the best ever.

  • Brian McCool

The EVH Flanger is by far my favorite pedal. I have owned many different Flangers over the years and this one sounds leaps and bounds better than any others. I also love the feature that allows you with the touch of one button to dial in Eddie’s sound.

  • http://FindThe01.com Carter C.

M159 Tremolo is my favorite. Stereo operation is a huge plus, so is it’s flexibility and the ability to dial in the exact sound you need.

  • J Ferguson

I have one of the first productions of the Dunlop TS-1 Tremolo/ Stereo Pan effects. It’s been a staple on my pedals board for over 10 years. It’s great for live and studio work I do and allows me to create a huge wall of sound and was the reason I started using to amps in my rig. With the TS-1 and 2 amps, it’s allows me to run 2 amps on each side of the stage for a massive simultaneous tremolo pulse or the whirlwind of the stereo pan all with a push of a button. It’s awesome and has always worked!!!

  • Jeff L.

My favourite one is the Wylde Wah. It sings, howls and barks at the moon while keeping every note clear, even with the loudest high gain distortion. Perfect for

  • Chris Schwartz

The standard Nylon .88 pick are all I use and will ever use. They have the best feel, good grip, and last me longer than any other pick I’ve had to use. Thanks for all the great products and keep up the good work.

  • David Sensenstein

My favorite Dunlop product is definitely the Uni-Vibe. In fact, one of my favorite sounds for guitar is the Uni-Vibe set to a slow throb with just a touch of overdrive. Mmm, creamy.

  • steve mundy

love the ej jazz 3 picks carbon copy is the best!

  • Ken

I like the Dunlop Ultex picks because I think I play better when I use them.

  • Edward Henry

I love the original Cry Baby, it’s great for almost any situation. Plus I love wah as an effect and this one is a classic!

  • Xavier A. Jones

My favorite Dunlop product is the Original Cry baby. When I got it for my 12th birthday, I feel deeply in love with it’s tone, durability, and quality. Thanks Dunlop, for giving me a product that that I can truly confide in!

  • Saul Segura

My favorite would be Dunlop Formula No. 65 Guitar Polish&Cleaner! The kit makes it so easy to maintain your guitars. But No. 65 makes it so easy to make your guitar look like Rock Star ready. Playing everyday, gig out on weekends, and my guitar looks like the first day I got it. Thanks Dunlop!

  • Evan Turner

I love the 535q Cry Baby. I use it at every show. its great for it versatility, from screaming solos to kick back rhythms. And i love the boost button, it help you BANG! kick it up a notch when engaging the wah. The 535q is a great buy all around, for all types of music.

  • Rusty

Your strings have to be the best I’ve every ran my fingers across!! The acoustic phosphor bronze are BOMB, I’ve played several other strings from other companies that feel like spider webs in my hands. Simply wicked!! You have soooo many other great things that Dunlop has to offer: Picks, pedals, straps, the list goes on and on. But you strings are the best, thanks!!

  • http://www.myspace.com/theandersoncouncil Rob Farrell

I use alot of Dunlop products – but back in the late 80s or so – I bought a red Dallas-Arbiter Fuzz face that Dunlop reissued. Even though it has lost its feet and taken quite a beating over the years – this fuzzface is still one of my favorite pedals and I still use it all of the time. Tortex picks are a close second.

  • Jose Vina

My favorite product is system 65 guitar maintenance kit, because it contains everything necessary for the maintenance of the instrument and are of very good quality, i don`t need any more!

  • Sam Muro

I’d have to say my Jimi Hendrix Wah it delivers that Hendrix magic every time what more can you ask for Dunlop products ROCK!!!!!!!

  • Cruz31

Cry Baby for sure but if the original Cry Baby is a legend, I prefer the multy-wah for its versatility and … of course … its great sounds !

  • Ash

my favourite dunlop items amongst many has to be your tortex pics, i have used other branded pics across the years and nothing seems to gel with me, some either sound to sharp or are too muddy,

yet with your pics i find a product that not only makes the guitar and the strings sound good, but is also very comfortable to hold and to play.

i also love your mxr pedals
i currently own the distortion + and the micro amp.

with the dis + i love how it seems to cover so many different sounds in such a small box, and with the micro amp, i have used many different boosts before, some have been useless, others have coloured, fuzzed up and some havnt even worked, with the micro amp, also being a buffer, i know i can use it anywhere in my chain and i will get first class results !!!

    Thanks Dunlop !!!

  • josh emery

I love them all. You guys rock. I have to say that the green .88 tortex picks are always there for me. Great feel, long lasting, top notch reliable!!! Those are my favs!!!

  • Chris Bagiamis

I use the Distortion +, with my amp and get that great 80′s metal going gotta love it when I get that Rany Rhoads tone happening.

  • erica

I love the mxr carbon copy delay!!!!! Super lush Analog delay. I need one today!!!!!

  • Lawrence Kessler

The Way Huge Swollen Pickle is worth getting just for the name alone !
In all seriousness it is one way bad Ass Fuzz Monster. It is mega tweak-able and super rich and creamy …… One of my fave raves for sure !

  • http://myspace.com/ECHOrobot Jonny Perez

The MXR Carbon Copy delay has become an integral part of my rig because of 2 reasons: Versatility and Wonderful tone. This pedal could be the size of a house and I’d still be happy to have it in my rig. The ability to switch between a stock analog delay tone and modulated delay makes for 2 amazing effects in one without become cheesy or overdone. I would love to have another one, so I’d never have to bend down and change settings again. Highly recommended by one punk to another, this is, quite simply, the only delay you should ever have to purchase.

  • http://www.myspace.com/losdiablosmusic Jorge Hernandez

The Original Cry Baby Wah GCB-95. Dependable, classic wah sounds, no frills!

  • http://www.protosonic.com Chris Pederson

My favorite is my stereo volume pedal which has allowed me to get rid of my volume controls on my Rickenbacker 4001 and run a separate output from each pickup to be blended at my feet. This allows me to blend two different effects chains (clean/dirty) and I no longer knock my toggle switch when I play.

  • Len K

    Dunlop Tortex picks rock!

  • http://www.myspace.com/distancefromshelter Michael Bruce

My fave Dunlop pedal is hands down my Rotovibe!
I’ve been using it live for 10+ years and still going strong!

  • Ben Fowler

It’s got to be the Turbo Tune. It cuts my string changing time way down, so I can get back to wailing on my axe faster!

  • Max Rady

    Gator Grips! love them!
As far as pedals go i love the dynacomp. That thing is amazing!

  • Jean-francois champoux

The Cry Baby wah . So musical !

  • http://www.sonicbids.com/summit2 william a. klug

Phase 90 by far! The range of the phase 90 pedal is the most versatile on the market. Being able to use a very slow sweep for down tempo melodic, physcedelic use, to medium wave for rock and metal solo’s and ambience, to the faster settings for the surf rock or rockabilly/ 50′s greasers songs, to the fastest setting for intense effect to use as a background noise, or space transient movement to accent critical peaks of dynamic methodical and dramatic artistic rock. NO other pedal can do that with only 1 knob!

  • Larry Comstock

The Cry Baby Classic was my first purchase of the pedals I use. I absolutely love it!!!

  • http://www.capcmc.com pavel govozda

In my humble opinion the Carbon Copy is the best product for the unbeatable warm lush tone.Crybaby original is one of the best in the market today.

  • http://www.capcmc.com pavel govozda

carbon copy rocks!the tone is lush and warm!

  • joe ray

my old phase 90 was my favorite and im excited to know i can buy a new one.

  • gus bus

Dunlop picks, they last forever and dont break.

  • gus bus

Dunlop picks are the best cuz they dont break and last forever.

  • Bill Anderson

3.0 mm stubbys I love the fact that something so cheap can make me sound better. They are easy to grab and absolutely no give at all to them, everything you put into hits the strings. I love the way the strings just glide off it, so crisp and clean. This is my secret weapon.

  • Tony Humphries

I’ve got to say that the Dunlop jazz 3 and jazz 3XL guitar picks are my favorite Dunlop products. They seem to make my playing easier and effortless, they glide across the strings and enable me to play faster while increasing my accuracy at the same time. Good stuff.

  • http://sandhilltradingpost.com Dustin Rea

I couldn’t live without my hendrix cry baby. It’s been through so much with me and stood the test of time.(N EVERY STAGE)

    Nothing else to say.

BUILT 2 SCREAM, BUILT F/N MEAN.

  • Joe Berdie

MXR pedals are pretty awesome. I could really use a carbon copy. Dunlop strings and Jazz III’s rock as well \m/

  • jaydee

Carbon Copy… it makes me wanna make sexy music

  • Brandon Grumbles

My favorite has to be the Carbon Copy right now. I just played through my friend’s a few weeks back and really enjoyed it. It has a good, simple, crisp, warm tone that blends with other instruments very musically very easily.

  • Shawn Hall

It has to be the MXR EVH Phase 90. Such a versatile pedal but yet so simple with just one knob,it’s nothing but pure genius and amazing tone.

  • Joe Pesce

The Crybaby is my fav. It’s such a classic pedal, and with experimenting, you can use it in a specific position to add another tone and/or to a doubled guitar line!

  • randy eichman

My favorite dunlop product is the MXR Micro Amp — clean, pure, simple boost that doesn’t color your tone. I also love my crybaby original wah, and my dyna comp. I’ve never had any problems with them, they just work.

  • lonn phillips

i love my MXR Eddie Van Halen Signature Phase 90, its my favorite pedal to play and i always solo with it. Its worth every penny of the 130 dollars and is perfect for my indie rock band for me to give it a little 70s Rock Guitar God style

  • Dennis Horimoto

My favorite Dunlop product is the Cry Baby wah pedal. I have one from the late 1980′s.

  • http://www.myspace.com/brandonruckus Brandon Ruckus

My fav dunlop product has to be my evh phase 90 pedal. It sounds so freakin awesome when I rip a solo and helps me get through in the live mix!

  • Anthony Manuele

It was about two years ago, today, when I got my first Dunlop pedal for my sixteenth birthday. It was an original Crybaby, with fasel inducer, and I remember thinking it made me sound awesome even though my playing was terrible. After years of honing in on my technique, the pedal ultimately helped me express myself through my playing in ways that I couldn’t without it; it became an emotional partner, part of my sound, my technique, my music. In the end, the Dunlop Crybaby is my favorite pedal, because of how expressive, sweet sounding, and integral it is; nothing else in the world sounds like a good Crybaby.

  • Anthony Manuele

  • Jason Hutchison

My fav Dunlop product is my Jimi Hendrix wah- Killer tones, quality construction, and excellent reputation- Why would I have chosen any other??? Dunlop Wahs Kill!!!

  • Dave Wells

Love my Univibe! The most fun u can have is having your fuzz, wah, and vibe goin’ while playin’ some funky Jimi grooves.

  • Ryan Dare

    My Dunlop picks withstand abuse.

  • mikey

Nylon Jazz III picks can’t be beat for efficiency and are built for speed.

  • CFromCali

Way Huge Fat Sandwich… it’s just the tone I’ve been hunting for… sweet…

  • Brandon76

My favorite Dunlop product is the MXR Blue Box. The Blue Box Fuzz pedal shovels out enough low frequencies to scare a blue whale.

  • http://www.notyourstyle.com Chris/Digit

I absolutely love the yellow tortex picks. They will always be a classic for me. Tried countless others and just keep coming back. Stick with what you know you can trust. And for me, that’s dunlop.

  • reggie bussey

my fav is the crybaby original wah it has the best sweep in the business

  • Kent Wolfe

My favorite Dunlop product is my MXR Dyna Comp. Gives a great tone and sounds awesome with everything I play.

  • david foor

I love your medium gauge picks and standard 1o gauge strins

  • david foor

I love your medium gauge picks and standard 1o gauge strings

  • Claire Tomchishen

I must say, the Carbon Copy is by far my favourite Dunlop pedal. I’ve owned one in the past and found it to be a very high quality, simple to use and great sounding pedal.

  • John Kowalski

Wow…….., I knew this wouldn’t be easy. I have a few MXR pedals and love them all. I would have to say though, I don’t think I could live without my Dyna Comp. I have one of the first to come out with the block logo in the late seventies. It sits proudly at the front of my chain ALWAYS in the on position with both output and sensitivity set at 2 o’clock. with these settings it’s like a light boost that just rounds everything out with an unrivaled warm smooth tone. I love it!

  • http://myspace.com/soundthemaquis Mark Moreau

The 10 band EQ is one of the pedals everyone should own. You want to have unique tone? Plug one of these into everything. I use it on all of my instruments, organ, bass, guitar, you name it. It has even appeared in some post production vocal usages. From making you sound like you are on a telephone or old tube radio, to the most even polished sound you can ask for, the 10 band eq is the jam.

  • http://www.myspace.com/starmaker Dave G

crybaby original wah, because it doesn’t roll off the highs like so many others do ! It has a much greater tone range !!!!!!!!

  • Kameron Cope

Dunlop is the ONLY way to go for guitar equipment! The wailing wah tones of all your favorite songs were from the famous 535Q Wah pedal! Compared to other wah pedals that seem to just give you a weird wah-ish overtone to your playing, the 535Q actually does what a wah pedal was meant to do! When I use it, each specific note is very defined each time i move the pedal. The 535Q is the wah pedal that pushes your notes through the rest of the mix and defines your riffs as you play! It’s amazing! If you’re unsatisfied with your guitar tone, its because you don’t have a dunlop pedal.

  • Kent Nickerson

I love my 535Q wah pedal. Delicate or mean it has the versatility to get any sound I want, and some that I didn’t know I wanted. I also can’t live without Tortex .68 picks.

  • Mike M

Carbon Copy – sounds great and easy to use!

  • http://www.myspace.com/regularkaymusic darren s

my favorite dunlop/mxr pedal is the distortion III it has a great crunch to it that is unique

  • Corby

My fave is that Classic Distortion you did for GC. 29 bucks, are you kidding me???

  • GARY VICUNA

    Hello Dunlop,

your MXR Carbon Copy analog delay is a great product. I have played it @ Sam Ash. It would be great to own to add to my small collection. Thank you Dunlop for the opportunity to win this great product in your giveaway.Wish me Luck!

  • Steven

    nada!

  • Dan

Well, let’s see, I mentioned the dunlop 535 wah as being the swiss army knife of wahs, so this time I’ll go with the phase 90. Back in my days (80′s) whenever I was going to do something with a lot legato, tapping etc. I would switch this little orange monster on. It always seemed to turn heads even at the most typical (insert name here) bar & grill. I’m not bragging by any means, but it just added a nice slick/smooth texture to whatever I was doing, it even made my old guitar teacher look my way when we were on a double billing one weekend, and ya know……….. come to think of it he asked me what my secret was to getting that sound and of course I told him it was all in the hands! I believe that was the last time he spoke to me ( he totally missed the sarcasm ) so yes, it will be the phase 90 this week! Good luck to the musical cats out there and kudos to dunlop!

  • Donald Thomas

My all time favorite has to be the original Cry Baby wah. Have had a few, been using then for 20+ years. Have tried others, but keep coming back…

  • Kyle Dapkus

I love the green tortex picks, the texture is simply remarkable.

  • Chris Bagiamis

I owned a Carbon copy at one time, there great pedals, now I am kicking my ass for selling it.

  • http://www.myspace.com/voodooguitar13 C. Clark Cumbo

Other than the fact that I use a variaty of Dunlops picks. The Dunlop 535Q wha pedal is a mainstay in my FX line up. I also absolutly love my MXR doubleshot Distortion pedal. I have tried the MXR Carbon Copy and I do not really know why I have not bought it yet. But If I do not win one. I know I will buy one.

  • Walt Myers

Love the picks, and my 535Q. Gives me the old and the new sounds. Built like a tank!!!!! Also love my Dyna Comp. Their all keepers!!!!!!!!! Great products- Great Company-

  • http://www.myspace.com/johnryzkanin John R. Yzkanin

The MXR script reissues sound better than the originals. Kudos.

  • John Seetoo

Being a longtime MXR and Dunlop products user, I’d say it’s a tossup between MXR Distortion + and the Cry Baby, with an edge towards the Cry Baby. I owned an original 70′s Cry Baby and my Dunlop reissue is identical sounding and operating with the added plus of the AC power option.

  • Justin

    I want one

  • Scott

Medium gauge nylon picks are tough.

  • Craig A Glaviana

One of my favorite pedals is the MXR 10-Band EQ M-108. It gives me crazy control of my sound!

  • http://www.agrorebeca.com.br José Roberto

Most better than the original! What a sound!

  • Rodrigo Zuniga

All the jazz III picks are great, I can’t use anything else.

  • Scott Hutchins

I love my EVH phase 90, two phasers in one box.

  • Ross C.

The Dunlop Jazztone 205 is my favorite product. It helps my playing be more articulate, enhances my picking dynamics, and makes my amp work when I abuse the strings. I couldn’t play a guitar the way I do without a Jazztone 205 in my hand.

  • Daryl Carter

maybe a dynacomp overdrive combo in one pedal would be cool

  • Doug Child

I have no experience with any of their products (I’m a newby), so anything I win will be my favorite, because it will be my first and for free!

  • Max

Ever since I started playing with a Jim Dunlop Big Stubby 3mm pick, I haven’t been able to go back. It’s the best pick out there and has taken my playing to the next level. With the pick being so rigid, I can play faster and more accurately than ever before. I’ve been playing exclusively with them for 3 years now and it has been the best playing I have ever done. Thank you Dunlop!

  • Tom Hannon

My favorite piece of equipment on my pedalboard is the MXR 10 Band EQ. It is always on and easily creates and sculpts my overall tone.

  • http://www.myspace.com/finalanalysis01 Jeff McGraw

New MXR toys are always welcome!

  • David dietrich

Tortex standard picks. The only one I can ever use or even feel comfortable using. classic!

  • Tyson Kapashesit

My favorite dunlop product is the SLASH WAH!! i love the sick tone when you kick in the gain boost because it almost sounds deranged like a talkbox.

  • Ryen Smith

I LOVE your medium picks… only thing I’ve used for about a year and a half and I never drop them anymore. Perfect size and shape and texture to hold onto but not sandpaperish… why can’t anybody else make them right huh?

  • Justin Hilterbrick

I have a few Dunlop products that I love. My Crybaby has been on my pedalboard since I got it & will never be replaced, I also have an MXR Dimebag distortion I used to use that sounded great. And I’ll never use anything but a red Dunlop Jazz III!

  • Tim Ahlman

I use Dunlop MXR pedals with my guitar and in my personal studio for my vocalist, bassist and sometimes with keybordist.I don’t believe that other company can reach the quality of Jim Dunlop/MXR Pedals. The quality of the components and ofcourse the SOUND.
My favorite is the Stereo Chorus Pedal. There are two words in my mind from the first time i pushed the button on this yellow miracle:Imagination and Inspiration. This pedal ispires me more than everything i’ve used in the past. Special thanks to the “research & development” department of Jim Dunlop especialy for this pedal!

  • Edward Pearson

I use a Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Wah pedal and it’s perfect for my board. It gives me that vintage sound at an affordable price. I also have all my pedals going through a Dunlop DC Brick which has never failed me, either. And heck, they make great picks, too!

  • drema

how about a mark morton distortion without the litle white button like dimes and dunlop is the best

  • chad

how about zakk wylde distortion like dimes distortion but without that little white button dunlop is the best and lasts longer and sounds better than the rest by far

  • http://www.myspace.com/grippinbreeze -J.T-

I use Dunlop tortex-, gator grip-, pitch black jazz- and Dunlop thumb picks. Them are all great. Nowadays my favorite is tortex sharp.

  • fred

honestly my jazz III picks i’ve started playing way better since i started using them

  • Roberto

I trust my powerbrick when touring and pluging into unknown ac outlets, it keeps all my pedals safe! Also I only use the Dunlop tortex picks… green is my color. A gozar!

  • Brant Arnold

MXR Carbon Copy is a rock solid pedal that will take a beating and keep on rockin’.

  • Ron Mathews

My pedal of choice for almost every song and show is DEFINITELY my Crybaby. I have an original one from the 70’s with the original fasel inductor. This pedal has that vintage wah sound that you just can’t get from modern pedals and has never let me down. Kudos Jim Dunlop!!!!

  • corby

Classic distortion. It’s great and was WAY cheap.

  • Adam Nathani

Definitely my original Crybaby. First pedal I owned, last pedal I’ll put away.

  • Anthony

I love my Crybaby 535Q Wah. It makes my solos come alive and allows me to adjust the sound for different styles.

  • Mike M.

A Tool Flanger.. Name it the “Pig”. Love the sound of Adam Jones from Tool.

    That would be great!

  • Mike M.

Your Tortex picks are the best out there by far!! Big fan of the Greenies .88.

  • Travis Hill

My favorite pedal would be the MXR Carbon Copy if i won.

  • Ken Zenaida

I have recently added the Univibe Stereo Chorus and the M132 Super Compressor to my pedal collection. The Dunlop domain is growing in my effects real estate; 4 and counting. I have long perfered my Dunlop glass slide over others and certain Dunlop picks are the best to use with certain of my guitars. I also like the trigger capo. I have yet to acquire a disappointing Dunlop product.

  • Jim Keller

My favorite piece of Dunlop gear is the carbon copy delay. My current analog delay sucks and I need a new one. I’ve listened to vertually every analog delay on the market and the carbon copy is the one I want. It nails that classic analog delay sound with the added bonus of modulation. Dunlop picks and the phase 90 are also great.

  • Allen Hawkins

I love my Dunlop gear. Not only does the Dunlop guitar kit work awesome, but it’s kept my guitars looking brand new. I have the Dunlop original Wah Pedal and love that one too. But I think my overall favorite Dunlop piece I have would by my Zakk Wylde signature overdrive..love that pedal. And last but not least would be my string of choice…Zakk Wylde signature Medium strings. Oh yeah…and love the pics too!

  • Paul Takamiya

I love the Dunlop Cry Baby Wah. First used it in the 60s and it still cooks.

  • Jeremy Crossley

Jazz III picks are my favorite

  • andy levine

Tortex picks are the best. The feel and the attack you get are great.

  • Patrick Kem

Still love your Dunlop cry baby. The tone is timeless!

  • http://www.myspace.com/johnryzkanin John R. Yzkanin

I just bought my second MC-401. Awesome line driver!

  • Doug Pearl

I won’t even consider playing with anything other than tortex or ultex .73′s.

  • http://Donthaveone Michael

MXR has always been reliable and dependable Equipment. Variation in sound and tone have always been the top of the line in my book. I’m now replacing my MXR/Dunlop equipment that was stolen in a move. Man I was so pissed, I lost my MXR Flanger 117
( from the 70′s), EVH Phaser, Dunlop Crybaby original (90′s), MXR 6 band EQ and Super Compressessor. Stuff that did make it: 5 guitars (1 early 80′s) Marshall 50watt 1987X Plexi with strait cab green back speakers Line 6 Podxt.

  • steve mundy

i love the jazz 3 picks

  • Stephen Heil

My favorite Dunlop pick is now the Ultex 0.73 sStandard. I previously used a medium nylon pick but have the Ultex more precise and easier to control dynamics.

  • Tim Ahlman

Still my favorite is the Dunlop Hendrix wah original thomas design. Phenomenal sound!

  • rogermurtough

I love my MXR Wylde Overdrive. It boosts the drive channel of any amp beyond its limit, adding gain and warmth for screaming leads and heavy riffs.

  • Chase Thompson

How can I get my own custom picks, but with varying designs on every other 50 or so?

  • Greg

How about an updated Octave pedal?

  • Ismael

i want to badly to try the new Ultex Sharp pick but i cant get it in my country i walked and walked every street looking for it but no one has em…i will appreciate some friendly hook 1mm size :P

  • Dane Wright

My favorite product is the 535Q wah! I use it everyday. I only use Dunlop picks, either the red Jazz III’s or the new Ultex Sharps, 1.44 or 2.0 mm, FAT MOTHERS !!! They last forever and have the best dynamic articulation of any picks ever made.

  • Dane Wright

My favorite Dunlop product is the 535Q wah. I use it everyday. I only use Dunlop picks, either the red Jazz III’s or the new Ultex Sharps, 1.44 or 2.0 mm. FAT MOTHERS !!!

  • Gary Williams

My favorite is the Carbon Copy. It’s an incredibly natural sounding delay. Unfortunately, I had to sell mine to earn some extra money, so I’d love to win a new one!

  • Patrick Kem

Short of using the Q530 i’m a lover of the Dunlop picks use em all the time. And just recently acquired a MXR 90 that’s also fantastic.

  • http://www.myspace.com/johnryzkanin John R. Yzkanin

I just purchased another MXR CAE MC-401. I have these at the beginning and end of the pedalboard signal. Works great!

  • Alex

Hands down Dunlop picks are my favorite. The tortex .88mm picks are thick enough to dig into those solos but thin enough you can still play clean soft licks with. Wouldn’t use any other picks. So Dunlop shouldn’t stop making them cause I’d be fucked

  • http://guitarworld.com AL S.

I find dunlop jazz 3′s to be one of the best things they have came out with in a long while, even though they are definitely suited twords a certain niche. They helped me get my pinch harmonics down, for example. All i can say is make sure you hold the pick in the most comfortable way, to prevent injury. And much respect goes to the time tested crybaby.

  • Ed Wallace

    Crybaby Wah

  • Ruslam

My favorite is Jimi Hendrix Octavio, I was waiting for it for about two months, and nowplaying every day on it with my band, allso like Dunlop strings, incredible sound !

  • Andrew Pak

My favorite Dunlop product is the Tortex .88 pick. It is a perfect pick. It feels nice, lasts long, and it sounds great too, not to mention the green color.

  • Gary V.

My favorate is the Cry Baby Wah, I couldn’t live without it. I also like the Phase 90 and the M108 EQ.
