Robert Plant’s new group Band of Joy features some of the most legendary and well respected Americana musician, who happen to be big Dunlop users.
Legendary Led Zeppelin vocalist Robert Plant is currently on tour with his new group, Band of Joy. Band of Joy is made up of Americana music superstars Patty Griffin (vocals), Buddy Miller (guitar), Darrell Scott (multi-instrumentalist), Byron House (bass), and Marco Giovino (drums). This summer’s tour is in support of the forthcoming debut record “Band of Joy” due out this September.
Guitarist and producer Buddy Miller, a legend in his own right in the world of Americana music, has performed and recorded with artists such as Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Shawn Colvin, Linda Ronstadt, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and Lucinda Williams. Miller’s song have been recorded by country music’s top performers, including the Dixie Chicks, Lee Ann Womack, Brooks & Dunn, and Dierks Bentley.
Buddy is using the Way Huge Aqua Puss Delay, MXR 10-band EQ, and MXR Phase 90 to create his signature swampy tones with Band of Joy. Buddy is also relying on the MXR DC Brick to keep all his pedals powered up and working efficiently.
Multi-instrumentalist Darrell Scott, whose songs have been covered by Brad Paisley, Travis Tritt, and even Dunlop Performing Artist Zakk Wylde, is currently on the road as part of Robert Plant’s Band of Joy. Here is what Darrell had to say about Dunlop’s Americana Pick.
“I’ve gone from using the thinnest picks I could find to the heaviest. The Jim Dunlop Americana is definitely the pick of choice for this Robert Plant and the Band of Joy tour” - Darrell Scott
