ZZ Top, America’s favorite bearded Texas troubadours, have put the finishing touches on a new release slated for fall of 2011. The yet untitled work was produced by the master Rick Rubin.  Guitarist Billy Gibbons told Mojo Magazine the new recordings  “… sounds and feels like Tres Hombres, with a few elements of the Eliminator period thrown in. A pretty wide range, from basic blues to slightly more fancy stuff.”

Hear Billy play his signature Dunlop Rev. Willy G Mexican Lottery Brand strings and slides and Dunlop picks here.

Below, our good friend Paul Riario from Guitar World gets a great ZZ tone from the MXR Custom Badass Distortion.
