      PRECISION-ENGINEERED STRINGS

We started with a simple question: What should a great bass string actually sound like? After years of refining the answer with working musicians, we landed on a voice with strong fundamentals, punchy mids, and rich harmonics that stay musical in any mix. Eventually we realized the only way to keep chasing that idea was to build our own String Lab.

      Punchy Midrange Growl

Ever notice how the bass can drop out when the guitars kick in? That's usually because it needs a more pronounced midrange. We engineer Dunlop Nickel Wound Bass Strings to punch up that midrange so you can hear—and feel—every note you play.

      Rich Harmonics

Great bass strings don't just give you the note—they give you the character around it. Listen to what happens after the initial attack. Dunlop Nickel Wound Bass Strings bloom with rich harmonics that add depth, dimension, and the kind of musical complexity that makes a bass feel alive.

      Tonally Balanced

String-to-string balance is one of those things you rarely notice until it's missing. When every string responds with the same feel and character the instrument feels more connected and your hands stop compensating for inconsistencies.

      Built for Any Style

A lighter set gives you back exactly what you put in. Whether you're walking a line with your fingers, digging into a riff with a pick, or slapping a groove with your thumb, the strings stay quick and responsive—ready to follow your hands wherever they go.

      Artist-Driven Refinement

You find out pretty quickly whether a bass string is any good when you're playing it every night. Touring musicians told us what held up, what didn't, and what they wished every string would do. We took that feedback back to the String Lab and kept refining until we got there.

      Distinguished by Design

The best gear isn't the gear you notice, it's the gear you stop thinking about because it simply works. That's been Dunlop's philosophy for more than 60 years, and it's the same mindset behind every string we build.
